I lost my dad in 2011 when I was 9. When I found out I was pregnant with a boy, I cried knowing my dad wouldn't be here to hold his first grandbaby. When he was born, he was like a spitting image of my dad. This song made me cry again and I just want to express how happy it makes me that someone understands that beautiful moments can be bitter sweet.

I can somewhat relate to this song, even though it's about his dad. I would love for him to write a song about single mom's. I was a single mom with three boys and a daughter, I left my husband due to domestic violence and though it wasn't as bad as some, the line was crossed and so I moved 3000 miles away and did my best to raise my kids on my own. Thankfully he was willing to help out financially and it was a blessing to be able to be a stay at home mom and only have to work part time while going to school to get my degree. It deff wasn't easy, and I made a ton of mistakes, but i always took them to church. I cooked, cleaned, made sure they went to school, brushed their teeth and stayed out of trouble. I wasn't perfect, but those four kids were my world and the reason I never gave up pressing forward (to God be the glory). Today they are all grown, I have 9 grandchildren and while everything didn't always work out the way I had hoped, I'm proud to call them my children ❤️🙏 Thanks, I love your music!! It's amazing!!

This song is powerful to me when I listen to it because it reminds of how much my father loves me when I didn’t know that when he told me that when I was just a baby I wasn’t in a good place and I was set up for adoption and that’s when he took me as his son and now years as pasts me and him are friends that are there for each other and thank you dad for everything that you gave me a second chance to live.
In many ways, quite a simple little song. But Oh My Goodness. The beautiful, oh so powerful words, hit your soul, and punch a hole in your heart. I can't imagine the pain of a ten year old boy, losing a dad, and grandparents, to a drunk driver. But hopefully your own family, and your music, give you a happy place in the bad times.
