    If you've stayed at both type rv campgrounds....State Parks and State Forest, let us know which you like the best!

      Our state parks don’t need to be resorts

    State forest up here generally don't have camping unless you're tent or backpacking. Nice comparison!
    You've got to test the camp pies before eating them... Bite a small corner off and let it cool😂 like a pizza pocket lol

      Thanks guys! Yeah I learned my lesson on the pie. Btw like Mike I like just eating the pie filling by the spoon full! Still eating on the can we bought lol

    WOW great comparison. Loved the caves and all the cool places you guys go. Hello Stevensons!!

      You need to check the caves out next time you’re down.

    Very timely video. We’re staying at Tillis in just a few weeks……

      Awesome. It’s a nice campground minus the fact about pets. Go slow on that gravel road. My truck tires were picking up rocks bad.

    We love Silver Lake state forest in Brooksville (just stay on the loop away from the highway). So much easier to get in to during season on a weekend compared to the state parks. And thanks for the heads up about no dogs. We just assumed they all allowed. Now will have to double check when booking as we travel with 3 dogs.

    • @AlliChuckAdventures
      @AlliChuckAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Silver Lake…we will have to look at that one. Thanks! Yup weird that Tillis has no dogs signs everywhere. We would love to know why but couldn’t find out anything.

    Florida state forest campgrounds have some nice discounts too, 50% for military, seniors etc . We love Holder Mine. Cary State Forest is a nice overnight stop right off 301, you are going to Jax/Savannah etc. There are only 6 sites but all very large and easy to back into.

  • @andywellborn

    Blackwater River State Forest close to Milton, Fl is nice in that most of the campgrounds are situated around small lakes. They have electric and water at most sites and provide a dump station. State Forest camping is usually easier to get reservations and have more discounts for seniors and vets than the state parks in the area. Henderson Beach and Grayton Beach State Parks are harder to get reservations unless you plan way in advance. Like your videos, hope all is well and Happy Camping!!!

    • @AlliChuckAdventures
      @AlliChuckAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Blackwater? That’s up in the panhandle right? Would love to try Grayton and Henderson too and really want to get into Gamble Rodgers. Have you stayed there? Thanks!!! 😁

    • @andywellborn
      @andywellborn ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AlliChuckAdventures Yes, Blackwater is a little northeast of Pensacola, Henderson is in Destin and Grayton Beach is east of Destion on 30A. Haven't been to Gamble Rodgers, but Anastasia State Park is nice in St. Augustine

    We stayed at holder mine campground last April. Didn’t care for the drive back, but it is a lovely,quiet campground.

      @AlliChuckAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You mean that gravel road?

    • @KZ-xj4tt
      @KZ-xj4tt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. That hard packed, rutted, dusty road.

    • @testingtesting4534

      I was just there yesterday. Road was paved a month ago. Main Ranger said they are going to pave up to each site pad sometime this year. Unusual that the Dump tank is located outside the gate. The park starts where the new pavement begins. Yes it is quiet.

    Wow! Tillis Hills is beautiful. Do they have bike paths for our Ebikes? We just got back from the KOA next to Lion Country Safari. What a blast! Our camp group was all there and we planned a cruise to Cozumel in February (my first and I cant wait). Canopy Oaks is our next big campout with our crew for ringing in the New Year. They’re all stuck on Resort camping and we enjoy it, but something has to give with these resort prices! Great Video again and very helpful.

    • @AlliChuckAdventures
      @AlliChuckAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is beautiful. No real bike paths. But Alli and I road out of the park and on some off road trails. That was fun! Thanks guys!

    The Florida state forests I've visited are primitive camping only which I like. The state parks are always 5 star but often cramped and crowded. Tillis Hill not pet friendly? Ouch, scratch that from my list. Withlacoochee River Park is always nice too. Top notch staff!

    • @AlliChuckAdventures
      @AlliChuckAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I tried to find out why not pet friendly and could find nothing out online as to why. What’s the reason? Makes no sense.

    How long is the dirt road going into Tillis? I've stayed at Holder Mine twice but that, almost 2 mile long dirt road wasn't fun. 30 mph limit, and the locals do every bit of that, plus some.

    • @AlliChuckAdventures
      @AlliChuckAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d say it’s every bit as long as the dirt road into Holder mine may be a tad longer actually

    Please in the future refer to the actual state Forrest name. Tillis Hills and Holder Mine are the campgrounds in the Withlacooche state Forrest. Makes finding the campgrounds easier. Great suggestion on the state forests.
