Just fitted one to my Giant Explore E2 2020 - Fantastic, fitted straight out of the box. This video was so helpful - thank you :-) Just taken the bike for a quick test ride, and I can hold a nice pace of 20-24mph along a flat county road without tiring myself out. I am not a cyclist and just wanted cover the 22mile round trip to work each day.
A great review and in English instead of German ! If all Ebikes in the UK were restricted to 20mph instead of 15.5 i dont think me and many others would part with well over £100 for a bit of kit that probably cost a couple of quid to make. The beauty of the Badass over other dongles is that you can fit or remove in seconds and thats it imo. The downside is your speedo wont read the right speed (unlike the Speedox 2 which is a bit more tricky to fit) i bought a cheep one out of Halfords for a tenner to compensate .
mine for the bosch just came with a thumbscrew and says to use the original magnet, however the manual has the same picture of a magnet with a black line... lol not impressed with the unit, seemingly getting 10-15km/h over the 25km/h limit... is this normal or should it be going faster?
The box needs a AAA Battery. My Explore E+4 started to error, changed the battery out the box, replaced with a standard Duracell battery & it worked fine again however just 3 weeks later the error started again so im wondering what AAA Batteries do you recommend because regular household batteries are kinda rubbish.
Hi Ross thanks for the video. How is the Badass performing? Do you take it on and off often? If i parked my bike somewhere i would be worried someone would steal it so would want to take it off each time. Is this possible?
hello CW . I have one of these units on my bike and it works flawlessly . Don't be concerned about theft , as they are barely noticeable and most thieves wouldn't even know what they were looking at. However if it's an issue for you , it only takes about thirty seconds to install and or remove.
@@bengtmatthiesen2477 Thanks i'm in canada here, so e6000 speed is already at 30 KM/H at first i thought i wanted to increase it... but with some experience with the system in city and seeing that a majority of drivers (cars) are not careful, i think i'll stay with the 30 Km/H max, for sure i would have increase it if it were 25 km/h at beginning
I lose half my battery life on top speed / boost mode I use 1/3 extra on eco and trail so I stick with eco or trail unless I'm on road which I use boost to keep up with traffic which is amazing
@ I have never heard of anyone calibrating this thing and I can't find a video on it.

30 mph but for my bike the top gear keeps slipping on the chain as it's so darn powerful with is speed up gadget so I avoid using the last gear as its damaging the teeth of my top gear on the cassette

Agree. The speed limit here is just too low.

This is what I get on my bosh 4. Not 15km/h more but more like 35km/h. Very disappointed. I wanted to go 44km/h!

Would this work for the focus jam2, which has the magnet of the hub of the back wheel? I suspect not.
Looking at gettting on of these for my e6000. How much does this effect the battery life?
whats the top assisted speed on your e6000, does it easlily handles 20m/h or 32km/h ?
@@mllandry1 It doubles the top speed. In Sweden it is max 25 km/h so it will be 50 km/h

@@mllandry1 Yes 25 is too slow, I normaly ride st 30-35 without battery so it would be nice to ride at 35-40 max.

@@swekiwi4517 I don't understand this chain slip myself. I only get a top speed of 22 mph. He must be peddling like a bat out of hell to get 30 mph.
