    A study method for people who dont have ppl to study with:
    1. Study using ur notes for lets say 30 minutes
    (30 minute break)
    2. Take the practice exam
    3. When you finish it grade it like how your professor would
    4. Find all the mistakes you made in each questions
    (30 minute break)
    5. Finish studying the mistakes and review the things you did correct too
    (Having relaxing music helps too)

      I love how you give a lot of breaks. You could also use a schedule with the 97531 method. Basically nine days before the test exam you repeat the study technique. Then you repeat this study plan on day seven ontofive on day one and finally the day before the test. If you have more time you could do this by week. I wanted to mention as additional method as sometimes reviewing every day may be hard due to people schedules. But I still think it is important to review often and I think the schedule is great in regards to how many breaks are good luck hope this can help someone

I love her but it was so hard to study when she tried to distract you after 5min 😂❤ Maybe making a bet of some sorts could help you keep yourself accountable! • @viola1066
      @viola1066 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sequinjin8332it's actually a really good method, because the human brain typically isn't able to fully concentrate for longer than 15-20 mins. So if you take a break after 20 minutes your brain can 'reset' in the next 20 mins and you're able to study way more effectively in the for the next 20 min session than if you studied for 60 min straight.

      @@viola1066 I'm not talking about the video, I'm talking about the comment. The video is a very good study method but the person in the comment said they did an intensive 8 hour study session rather than studying in fragments and taking time off. So yeah, I agree with you. A study session should never be that long because that implies you're doing it on a time crunch and at the last minute rather than doing just a few hours a day spread out. 8 at once is too long and doesn't do much for the brain, aka pseudo-working. Maybe like 2-3 hours a few days a week rather than one super long session.

    • @OxidizedNail
      @OxidizedNail ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What’s interesting is that 20 minute working session then break is great! However, it can’t be a long break where you totally become distracted and lose focus. Really the optimal break is around 5 minutes, then 20-30 minutes working, then repeat.

    Idk if anyone else relates to this, but I always get stuck in a bad mindset when studying (especially for writing). Like, when I start an essay I’m just like "well, I need to get the entire thing done rn or else I didn’t really do anything" instead of having the mindset of working on it piece by piece. Then I always just end up frantically getting it done at the last second 😭

    • @Whoknows-mf1cv
      @Whoknows-mf1cv ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s called an all or nothing mindset or black and white thinking. I deal with that too and what helps me is to estimate how long each assignment/reading should take and then split it into 15 minute chunks, I call them shifts. After that I organize my shifts so that there is a good amount of time between each one. For example:
      History takes an hour to study for, French takes 45 minutes, Psychology takes 30 minutes. I alternate in this order: History, French, Psych, History, French, Psych, History, French, History. With this method I don’t get too tired out on one thing to the point I do nothing else. It helps me at least get started on some things. It also means I can easily take a break when I need to. I usually take a 15 minute break every 45 minutes. I still sometimes don’t finish the remaining amount until the last minute but having to do 75% of it last minute instead of 100% is very helpful.

      The Pomodoro technique is 20 minute intervals of productiveness, followed by a brief 5-minute break. After four consecutive Pomodoros, take a 30-minute break. This is the method I use and it works for me. I think her method of 20 minutes on/20 minutes off would make me feel unproductive, but if it’s working for her and her friends, who am I to judge? We all have different needs, so just because it doesn’t work for me doesn’t mean that’s true for others.

    • @sirrooster1541
      @sirrooster1541 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@IndieCindy3 Yeah, I never personally liked the pomodoro thing, but to me, doing something for as long as you aren't just seems really unproductive. Taking any break at all makes me unproductive; the second I take a break, I lose my focus and "flow". Normal pomodoro works for a lot of people though, and that's fine, but to me, I feel like doing something for 1 hour and doing nothing for 1 hour is just beyond unproductive.

    I like to start by reading over the learning concepts of the chapter. Most people skip this but it tells you what you actually need to know so stop skipping!
    Then I read through the chapter and highlight text that I think looks like a broad concept or supporting idea to the learning concepts I read earlier. (AKA Important stuff and main ideas, not supporting details).
    Then I take a 10 minute break to hydrate and eat a little snack and I avoid getting on my phone because I know I’ll get sucked in.
    When I’m done with my break I make a mind map of those broad concepts to connect all the main ideas of the chapter.
    Then I go back through the text and add more and more details. I like to make it so that I could reason myself to most answers as long as the questions pertain to the broad topics so I make sure I REALLY understand those topics first before I worry about memorizing minute details.
    Then I take a practice test if there one available to see what I need to go back and look at in more detail.
    Then another break. This break is longer and usually involves me working on another subject so I shift my focus and see what my brain actually retained when the break is over.
    When I come back from my break I make a brain dump. I basically write down everything I remember from what I studied earlier and try to connect it all together. If I have time and it’s relevant for the class I’m studying for I will also connect some concept to previous concepts from the class. I will compare this brain dump to my textbook and make sure nothing important is missing.
    Then another practice test. If there’s no practice test then I just look back at the learning concepts and make sure I can explain them all in detail. If that goes well then I’m done!
