I own a USA 6505+ head and love the tones you get but for the tones you used in this video with my headphone in I would pick the Orange amp also sick guitar skills very impressive
I have the Rockerverb MKii also, love it, totally underrated. What boosts do you like with it? I'm currently using the Orange 2 stroke boost/parametric eq, which works great, but considering adding an OD808.
Coming from the EVH 5150 iii, both of these are good, I'd have both. If I would need to buy one, I'd go with the Orange though, cuz EVH tones can be achieved with any other amps, but the tone of orange - only orange, for some reason.
Having the peavey xxx and xxl, that covers the peavey sound for me. So I would definitely want an Orange to add to the arsenal. But I think I would prefer the or120 or the cr120.
This video just makes the struggle worse haha. I really, really love the sounds of both, despite them being very different from one another. This is the best video comparison of the two I’ve seen though. I want a killer clean though, which is making me wonder if I should look into the invective more-6505 dirty channel with better cleans.
I play a 6505+ thru a PPC212 and I want to buy an Orange head so bad, but tbh...I can't pull the trigger yet cuz I LOVE the 6505. Before he even said it, it just has this lower mid sound that I love. It more organic in a way. The orange has this fizz, that I love at times, but it doesn't suit. me. Esp soling sounds better, to me, with the Peavey. Will probably by a TH30 as a back up. Cant shell out 2k if I prefer the 6505. Change my mind. Great vid. Oh and the 6505 is tighter and has 3 channels. Oh and the I head is freaking heavy, and we gig a lot so I want something smaller, but if it doesn't sound close to it, I'll deal with it till I'm older I guess. IDK

Idk if you’ve added an od808 but I really like it with my rockerverb mkii. Can’t say how it compares to others with the amp since that’s the only boost I’ve used with it but I do enjoy it a lot when I need that extra tightness
Sorry. I don't write down my settings and I CONSTANTLY change them to taste. Closest I could guess here would be gain slightly before noon, Mids and Highs around 3 O'Clock and bass close to noon or a little over. I generally have a ttubescreeamer with the tone set to 2 O'Clock to 3 O'Clock for the Rockerverb. That would be around what I might set its to as a baseline, but I own 37 amps and I play a bunch of different types of music so it's hard to narrow things down. Cheers -Ryan
Hello, I have a question about the Marshall amplifiers because they gave me 40 w DSL and I didn't like the very bright tone and I've seen your videos and the jvm shows the difference. Would you recommend the 50 w jvm?
It helps when it "Doesn't Matter" because it's TH-cam. If I were to sit and write something for a band scenario I tend to over think and analyze... For these videos I literally cycle through drum tracks and see what comes out. Cheers -Ryan
I used to... but I find it much easier in a recording setup to use Heads. I keep my cabinets in a separate treated room. It's easier to mic and saves my hearing as I record at rather high volumes. I also like the change heads quite often when recording... this keeps the amp controls directly in front of me, on my desk. But at one point I had 3 or 4 Fender 4x10 Combos along with some Marshall and an awesome Peavey Classic 50 4x10. Cheers -Ryan
I’ve always had issues with orange stuff, I’ve never gelled with it but on comparison I’d go for the orange over the peavey, it’s got loads more range, the peaveys exceptionally good at what it does but that’s all it does. I would have liked you to play riffs in other tunings, I don’t really go below eb so I don’t really know how useless this test was for me
Orange for the win absolutely it’s incredible how an actual high-quality amp will just completely expose another amp
