This was a very helpful explanation. We are not changing, the infinite consciousness remains as it is while the object of the awareness it casts changes. That was an effective exercise to explain what consciousness is!
Jill, thanks so much. I "stumbled" onto your channel this morning and instantly was like...YUP. I had a similar experience to yours during a near death experience in 1988 and it was soooo life changing, but then darkness came for me...whew...it has been ugly for 15 years, but the darkness has been lifting and this was a super helpful remembrance for me. I have been guided in these time into a role as an End of Life Doula with hospice helping patients and their families understand the transition process back home. Thanks again and much love. @@jshields_STX hi, John! Thank you for sharing and for accepting the call ad an end of life doula. I was my dad’s caretaker in his final stages of life before he transitioned last December. He had hospice nurses who’d visit his home to take care of the medical aspects but I felt it in the most intense way that he had some spiritual kind of reckoning he had to do and needed some guidance the healthcare workers couldn’t provide. I’m thankful you’re now acting as a guide for others as they’ll surely be comforted by your presence and guidance. I distinctly remember telling my dad’s social worker I felt like a death doula and hadn’t ever heard of that before at the time. It’s an honor to walk others home. Be blessed and continue to be a blessing to others, friend. I look forward to engaging with you more in here! -jill
@ oh such an honor in that sacred event! I’m so thrilled that you were there with your dad at his transition. It’s so interesting to be with people as the veil thins and in my experience, it’s the realization process for them and the letting go of so much. I posted a video about my mom’s transition to TH-cam as she was sharing with me to what she was seeing. It was spectacular. If you like, I would be honored to share it with you. Much love goddess.

Thank you , JM, I am very grateful you took the time to do this and your analogies were quite clear. So, if our true nature, or self, is Pure Conscious Awareness, and in this 'we' have the potential to direct our energy towards experiencing (or creating) an infinite variety of things...and this is our natural state, elevated and separate from our egoic selves...my challenge, and it's not an uncommon one based upon the questions I have seen asked of spiritual guides, gurus, etc...is how to maintain that heightened state and utilize our potential energies in a way which can bring some peace and positive ...momentum. Peace, calm, happiness...satisfaction...all these things are so elusive within the egoic existence, and our attempts at manipulating our egoic lives rarely achieve long lasting-ness in any of the aforementioned. If we possess this potential energy to direct or create (we do)...is it somethimg we should 'train' ourselves to 'harness' for lack of a better term, or is the realization that we do exist on this higher plane with that potential...'enough as it is'...to be in transcendence ?
When that pure conscious awareness is experienced, the doer (ego) lets go. So there is no need to “do” anything. I saw a wonderful analogy at some point that showed a black and white drawing. I believe it was the two dark faces and in between them was a white goblet. It’s one of those images where if you focus on the dark outlines you see two faces looking at each other. And if you focus on the white middle you see the goblet. But you cannot see both equally at the same time. Pure conscious awareness is similar in that sense. That is why some ancient masters are said to slip into spontaneous samadhi. Their awareness is either “here” or in unity. Your question was one I shared for quite some time until it “clicked”. Even though I directly experienced pure consciousness and knew beyond the shadow of a doubt what I knew, I still had awareness “here”. And I thought my life had to look exactly like the ancient sages where I basically meditated and spoke of ancient scriptures continuously. So I felt like there was still something I was waiting for. I was in deep meditation and this came forth: “Clear is the path that has no footprints and points the way.” And in that moment I understood that while I had the same knowing and experience, I wasn’t meant to live in the Himalayas or live in an ashram. My life would look different. Our awakened state is liberation FOR ALL. And I truly try to even avoid dogmatic terminology like “awakened” or “enlightened” bc we then associate attributes to that and if we or someone doesn’t fully express those traits we question it. But that’s exactly what I was shown. We’re meant to live. It’s okay to have spouses, children, jobs, etc. but we ARE meant to live as awakened beings. That knowingness provides continuous peace and joy. For instance, there are things in my life that would have historically had me very stressed out. But now, it’s a joy because I’m just allowing and experiencing it with a bit more space between me and the event. Real joy or spiritual bliss isn’t dependent upon circumstances. It’s not conditional. So happiness doesn’t require outward circumstances to be a certain way to have peace be constant. Once a direct experience of pure conscious awareness occurs, the rest seems insignificant in comparison. But I will say again, as a western woman with a job, spouse, and children, I wasn’t sure how to live my life afterwards. It was tough. But this is why I started my channel. I want to be here for people to see that while we can admire and learn from others whose lives don’t mirror ours, we can live lives that look outwardly different but in an “awakened” state. I hope this helps. If I missed the mark on your question please let me know as I’m happy to readdress it in a different manner.
@@JillMarieKelly Even if this consciousness awareness meant something to me ( and it doesn't ), how would one DIRECT it to presumably create all these wonderful things and experiences we're supposed to be able to achieve with it ?
You describe something similar to an experience i had in meditation where i just turned into pure energy flying from low down up and out of my chest. . I was like the energy of the ultimate love. I've never been able to achieve this again but I've never forgot it.
@JillMarieKelly thank you for your reply. I've also meditated and found the body disappears and I was in a void with just the knowing of I exist. I was the pure Knower without anything to know except my own existence. I found this scary though. It felt lonely. Like there was nothing but me. Thank you for your work. I've subscribed and want to be part of the exploration in this community.
@ welcome, friend. 🙏🏼 there is nothing to fear. Ask yourself who was feeling fear in that experience? Was there possibly a moment where there was no fear, but then fear crept in as your awareness went more and more towards the you that you identify with? But ask yourself that question. Who was feeling fearful and lonely? Pranam, friend 🙏🏼
@@zzgeneralsearch1070 I should also add this regarding your feeling that there was only you. Watch my video Non-Duality Explained. I think it’ll help. 🙏🏼
@JillMarieKelly Thank you so much. I know the fear was the mind interrupting. My journey start was complicated but the breakthrough happened reading the power of now. The recognition of myself as "nothing" totally shocked me. I found advita and nonduel explanations. The realisation that everything is the consciousness that is me is not fully happened here though as yet. Have you thought about introducing your subscribers to Douglas Harding's headless way. There is something in that.
I did the meditation. But my view on consciousness hasn't changed. What's the big deal ? Okay I'm infinite consciousness. So what ? How does this "liberate" one from the problems of everyday life ? I don't see how it does !
That’s awesome that you tried the meditation! The key is consistency. Think of it like working out. One wouldn’t expect to build larger biceps and stronger muscles from just one push-up, right? The meditation may feel awkward at first and pointless and resistance may arise to it, and that’s perfectly normal and to be expected. Just keep doing it and the resistance will begin to fade and you will begin to see for yourself how it will begin to liberate you. Your best teacher is your own Self/True Nature. It’s helpful to hear of others’ experiences so you know what you may also experience, but always look within without ceasing. All we seek is within.
