This lecture is about composite monocoque engineering - the high-level of engineering in ground vehicles, but already reached in Formula Student. Very usefull lecture. Owen Carless, head of mechanical simulation in RedBull Racing F1 powertrain group, working there since 2008 till now, becomes a design event judge since 2007 and chief design event judge in Formula Student Germany since 2013.

For a student project wet bagging forgives a lot more, it's lower cost and basic tech. That's good enough at that level.

For driver jig....buy a thrashed go kart chassis!... Kart racers bend them and ruin them all the time. Track down a kart racing team...and see if they have a bent chassis from a past season...
