As a young man I used to love building and flying chuck gliders. But now in older life my shoulder has gone bad. But with catapult gliding I can now have a go. Thank you for sharing the plan.👍
Addicting, aren't they? He was pretty lucky to find such a small plane in the cornfield. It looks like you get a lot of thermals at your field, so you better build more than one! Great little plane. Thanks for posting.
Thx, Ken. Yes...PK has a fleet of them, as they oft times slip away one way or another. Biggest bang for the buck in F/F. Funny how no two are alike, yet all come from the same plan.
It's great just how much science, craft and art can get packed into such a tiny thing.. Loving the solo piano on this.. In fact it sounds a bit like Donald Fagen! 🎶👍
Is that a "Tilley" hat that you are wearing? Looks like it. I have been a Tilley fan for 30+ years. Catapult gliders are as much fun today as they were 80 years ag! : )
Super neat! I flew a bunch of these small things up till a few years ago before I got distracted back into music - gotta get back! Is the step on the fuselage used as the catahook?
What a little beauty! Does anyone know some missing dimensions? Wing width....distance from fuselage tip to wing leading edge? Any info would be welcome.
@@maxfliart Many thanks. I am in the process of making 3 of these little beauties, and assembly is ready for tomorrow. Now I can safely fix the wings in the correct position on the fuselage. Thanks again.

We can never be too old for flying models, it's the same fun today as it was back in the sixties 😎
@@Captain-Nostromo that is so true.
Took me back to my happy childhood, thank you.
So much fun from a simple model, going to make one for my grandson.
Awesome flight. Simple yet efficient design. Viewers should make one.
Wonderful commitment to retrieve it from the corn field: "Needle in a hay stack"
Well, I think we'll be building a few of these! Thank you.
I just built one and it flies unbelievably well! Thanks for sharing!

Inexpensive and easy to build… flies great! What’s not to like? 👍👍👍
Brilliant love the gliders, brings back great memories

Thank you very much friend! as always, a pleasure!
Very cool! Takes me back, thank you!
your video is so relaxing, that sweet piano background music 👌
Good flight times considering such a small wingspan.
Like the soundtrack
I have an 20 years old Graupner catapult glider, It's stills flies really great 😀
That little guy really goes !!!

If ur not able to print out the plan, I see that the wing's LE is 2-7/16" from the nose. The wing chord is 2-3/16". Have fun

@@maxfliart I guessed at the wing chord being 3 inches, so I'll trim some off the trailing edge. Better too wide than too narrow.
Building one now Looks to Good to not try one Huge thumbs Up
Dihedral 3/4" EACH SIDE.
What does each side mean? I just put wing down and see how high the tip measure from the building board.
Is this correct?
It means that each wing tip (each side) has a 3/4" dihedral.
This is great for my son. I wil build one.
The link to the plan is not working please Tom help. Thanks
Not sure what the issue would be, since it works on this end. Here's the link again. hallmanstudio.com/ELLIPSE_BABY_GLIDER_SMALL.pdf
