I am Korean. President Yoon Seok-yeol has been recording approval ratings in the high 10% to low 20% range according to opinion polls for the past 1-2 months. The Constitution of the Republic of Korea stipulates that martial law can be declared in the event of war, incident, or similar situations. The Republic of Korea is not currently in such a situation, and many Koreans suspect that President Yoon Seok-yeol, who is currently in a political crisis, may have tried to reverse the political crisis by declaring martial law. The martial law situation was lifted in about 6 hours with the National Assembly’s passage of a resolution demanding the lifting of martial law and the acceptance of it by the Office of the President. The opposition party is currently reviewing whether President Yoon is guilty of sedition, and it seems likely that the impeachment motion against the president will be proposed as soon as the sun rises.
South Korea's former prosecutor-turned-president Yoon is said to be innocent in his wife's bribery and stock manipulation case through political prosecutors. However, his wife manipulated $2 million and her accomplices went to jail. Other bribery cases, political intervention, but prosecutors failed to arrest her. The people were outraged and called for impeachment, and his approval rating was 17%. Today, he announced martial law by mobilizing the military. However, martial law without the consent of the National Assembly is illegal. The military's intrusion into the National Assembly is also illegal. 190 members of the National Assembly voted in favor of lifting the ban. He is going to end up going to jail

The martial law was in place for a few hours because parliament was quick and corageus enough to vote against it. But now the president of South Korea did it in good faith or not? And then ,will he be prosecuted or not?
This day, South Korea has shown forth its commitment to the high virtues of democracy and the rule of law, standing steadfast where others might falter. Their people rose to the challenge with courage, and their soldiers bore the weight of duty with both restraint and honor. In this, they are as a bright beacon, their conduct more akin to the measured wisdom of the West than to the faltering paths now taken by Georgia, beset as it is by disorder and the shadow of nepotism. For in the crucible of crisis, the true measure of a nation is revealed: whether it holds fast to justice and order or falls prey to chaos and the lure of selfish gain. And in this, the Koreans have proven themselves as a people of strength and grace, while the Georgians, for now, stumble amidst the gathering dark.
The U.S. troops there know why they're there. They call themselves "speed bumps." Their purpose in a North Korean invasion is to be overrun and die. I'm Korean and I was surprised But it's okay now
When the birthrate so low you have to declare martial law to force people to have children .
Government provided rations include ky jelly and soju😂
Well that was embarrassing, someone wasn't thinking.
This is what Trump has promised to do. We are headed for dark times in America, please be safe ❤
I must have missed when Trump said that.
if you're here illegally you broke federal law. Try doing the same to South Korea you'll be picking cabbage in jail
I'd like to know as well
I've only heard of him showing interest in unconstitutionally have wanted to declare a third presidential term before he knew he got his second presidential term
Afterwards he said the second term is the last time he will campaign
Now he is going to jail for sure
Wtf is going on with South Korea those days? Good grief! And I thought North Korea had issues! Martial law seems a bit excessive and unnecessary. 🌻
No, wtf is good on in America lately! This is where Americans are headed.
Why? that "martial law" was declared for a specific purpose, we will shortly find-out why ...
But if you have US troops in your country, anything crazy is possible...
well ... there has been the fact that NK has NUCLEAR BOMBS now ... that NK works hand and hand with Communist China (the most unstable country in the world, only 2nd to NK) when it comes to unhinged political overreaches of power. as well as the fact that war has been erupting all over the world over the past few months, and the Border between NK and SK are Actively having skirmishes!!! So ya ... this isnt so "OUT OF LEFT FIELD" as one might think....
@ceejaf1 Please learn better English. Your syntax needs work. I hope you are wrong.
@@ceejaf1 Deep breaths... None of what Biden or the msm told you about Trump was true. If it was they wouldn't be welcoming him to the WH or meeting him in Mar-a-lago.
That was fast! He was like I DECLARE MARTIAL WOOOOAA just kidding
나라망신.. 명분도 없이 지 기분나쁘다고 계엄선포한 대통령이나 그 명령 따르겠다고 국민한테 총구 겨누는 군인들이나.. 지금이 80년대 독재정치 시대냐고
Kick him out or resign
He has to justify very well what he did... It's better to resign afterwords... When the world needs calm and common sense leaders... Crasy people!
I hope we don’t see such compilation thing next year in the US…
He was Trump for one day🤔🤔
one day???
4hours
Trump never declared martial law.
He blames the North for his mistakes. 😂
그냥 술먹고 제정신 아닌걸로 bad
I can’t believe our president has an iq of Peter Griffin…
now let his impeachment &/or arrest be equally swift!! we just saw a TRUE democracy in action.. hopefully its next moves are equally firm, impressive & show other countries how this $hit is SUPPOSED to work!!
Vasal state taking about democracy
what a joke 😂😂😂😂
He'll never get any respect from another country again.
His dream to be a South Kim Jong Eun😂
Very cool. Don't fuck with South Korea's love of freedom.
The dude is clearly off, he blames this on North Korea and forgets that he has 41,000 U.S. troops there.
28500 at last count
You can see military gets bored and loves drama like this!
Mickey mouse coup attempt
This reporter is trying too hard to compare him to Trump. They're not the same buddy, calm down. 😂
Feels like he just completely panicked...a hyper stressed mental breakdown....trying to find some way out. He might find he has some time to look after his mental health in Seoul Detention Center.
