  • Episode 34 - Robot Royal 36 - 35mm Rangefinder Camera Review
In this episode we look at a novel clockwork Rangefinder from the 1950s
    --------
In March 2021 we gave our six year old daughter her first proper camera... a 1970s Canon Canonet 28 as well as a turquoise leather-bound photo album for her to record her images.
This TH-cam channel is an accompaniment to that album. We will document Emmy's 35mm photographic journey whilst showcasing some of her Daddy's favourite 35mm cameras.
Our images are shot almost exclusively with Ilford Delta 100 (unless otherwise stated), then developed at home in the kitchen sink and scanned with a Pakon F135+ Negative Scanner.
We hope you enjoy the channel

About the second, integrated film casette: these were introduced in the Robots, since the Robot II and Robot Junior didn't have rewind mechanisms, thus you had to rewind your Film externally, making such a contraption necesary.

Sweat! An excellent description, plus a nice set of test photos to show off its capabilities.

Very nice camera and some very nice pictures, and from a brand I’ve never heard of before. I’ll have to do a bit of research into them.

Thank you for this nice and friendly review of a wonderful camera! So far there were only descriptions about its quirkiness. I had a 36, but since I'm more on square format, I sold it again and only kept my Royal 24 - but I started with the Robot Star, which I still own and love. And yes, people are indeed surprised of the quality of pictures it takes. Only it's not the most silent camera, that's true.

Lovely camera. Mine is the more common Junior. I love the Square format, my fav is indeed the Royal 24 but considering the price I'm perfectly fine with my Junior and the Xenon 40mm 1.9 lens

Hi. I also have one of these. Do you know which kind of cable I need to trigger the flash? It seems my normal PC-Sync doesn't fit. Thnaks

Yes it's an annoying size (slightly smaller than normal). I have one but I don't know if there is a specific name for it. Just trial an error
