Rachel is the most important character on Revolution. The fact that she is not popular among the audience is because she is a woman. If Rachel would've been a male then the character would've been popular. This is all about Elizabeth Mitchell breaking down all the traditions and myths in television about only men being morally ambitious because people are used to seeing men morally ambitious. So seeing a woman killing without conscience and being so unhinged is unfamiliar territory for the audience to see.
