    I agree the real secret to being successful as a small creator with TH-cam is to cultivate multiple streams of income while growing your channel. One tip I would offer is to collate your TH-cam videos into short courses, add more content to them and then sell them through a course platform, Udemy, Thinkific or Teachable. Or of course your sponsor Skillshare. All of these work for me. Thanks great summary and looking forward to part 3! Best. John

    I can't thank you enough for diving into this! I've watched a lot of this subject from other TH-camrs, but for some reason I trust your perspective more than anyone else's!

    Thank you for the great info. Do you mind sharing what color paint your wall is? It is soothing and also brings you, the speaker, into focus.

    Do you get more brand deals by reaching out to them, or by them reaching out to you? How big does your channel have to be to get recognized by brands?

    I have to disagree strongly about affiliate links. Not just anyone can do it. I currently have a different channel with over 500 subscribers. I've only had the channel for 2 months, but I post 3 times a week and have done since day 1. I have applied to magic links and like to know it/reward style, and have even had other people give me referrals, and I have been denied over and over. I had no idea that if you apply, you then have to wait months to apply again if you're denied. So I do lots of try on hauls, link every item without fail, and I have not made a penny because I'm not "cool enough" yet for them, even though I am growing fast as a channel. So while it sounds great, it's kind of on their whim whether or not you are accepted. I had no idea it was like that when I started, and it's incredibly frustrating as a creator.

    Looked forward to this video watched the 1st part and looking forward to the 3rd part, so many long ads lately some timed up to 69 mins. Is there a way to miss these ads without affecting you ? Is that a question I can ask? if not I understand. Thanks for sharing. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

      I think I remember seeing in a similar video to this that for the content creator to make what little money Adsense brings in for them, you would need to watch at least 15 seconds of an ad that plays during their videos. (I could be wrong about that, though.)

    Hi Allison! How do I start using affiliate links? As a brand new creator I’m having a hard time finding a platform. The only thing I’ve been able to use so far is amazon.

    Love your videos, thanks so much!! btw i see you use airbnb affiliate links, look into airbnb associates as well!! You can make links to your favorites list of cool airbnbs in places you travel to and link those - you get paid 30% of the airbnb fee which can be $150+ if they book a huge place!!

    Ok but how much money are you earning from youtube? Can you give some examples? I have seen examples for really big channels with millions or hundreds of thousands of views, but I am missing a sense of what one can earn from at more "middle-popular" channel where average videos are more in the tens of thousands of views 🤔

  • @noopursahay2560
    @noopursahay2560 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I wish youtubers wouldn’t gloss over the details of making money through TH-cam. Anyone who googles this question knows about ad sense and affiliate links, but how about some examples with hard numbers? How much do you make from an affiliate link? It’s just not helpful to tell me to pick a niche and make pretty content. I need a realistic starting point to project if starting a channel is worth it. This video is not helpful.

      I have noticed that too..and i know thats how they make money but that doesnt mean that every single video she posts has to be sponsored.
