To add anchors earlier just extend until you can see the slider, then go closer and now you can place it

The 5° angle is because hands dislike moving straight left-right or up-down. Going at a slight angle is slightly more comfortable for play. Two years late, but it deserves note.
funny how much this changed from when it released. Look at the newest ranked maps, the amount of unique sliders is wayyyyy higher
I've been helping a friend who's gotten into Osu! make stuff offline recently, so this has been a huge help. I usually remember games from a long time ago but I just drew a blank on sliders. Thanks a ton, great vid!

very fitting considering I just tried doing some slider art for the climax of a map, but gave up once I realized how incredibly hard it is to do it, and just placed a spinner instead lol
yes, you can actually make anchors before a slider appears; you have to make the slider visible, then go back. Idk why, but it works.
2:47 Ctrl+G is a command that reverses the head of a slider
Me instantly: PISHIFAT I LOVE YOU I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING THAT COMMAND FOR HOURS
A small tip with the anchors, this works for me, if you extend the slider out to at least one tick, then move it back, you can place an anchor even if you cant see the slider.

The more videos I see, the more demoralised I become.
Honestly though, these contain all information a mapper needs; it's like a guide on how to map, which is really nice and helpful, especially with such a satisfying voice >.
As for slider shapes, I do like the idea of the occasional fancy shape. If you look at the original Elite Beat Agents songs, there was a pair of sliders shaped like lips in the song La La, and You're The Inspiration finishes with a big star. However, I consider these as showstoppers, usually for the last epic chorus, like the cherry on top of a Kiai time sundae.
I love making sliders.
To be fair, I just love mapping in general. It's very satisfying when it's finally done~
The thing that annoys me however is when I accidentally make a 3 point slider, but I usually find a way to work with it depending on the music lol

2:00 idk if its a newly added feature or not but now for whatever reason if you drag the slider into existence then add the anchor at the very beginning you can make stuff that looks snapped from 1/8 sliders
what i learn today : ctrl + left clicking creates a new anchor between them... my dumbass have been deleting sliders and restart again everytime i messed up the sliders
I feel that the trend of using 5 degree straight sliders limit the expression of the mapper
That's why I personally always use a lots of differently angled sliders to make my maps.

Actually, you can place slider anchors before it gets to the first tick, you just have to load the slider in then move it back.

The +-5 degree thing angers me more than I think it should. It's like the crowning exemplar on how much I feel learning to map is equivalent to "learning a bunch of random bags of tricks." If it weren't for these videos, it would have probably taken me years to get up to ranked status.
I mean...I've been mapping for over a year now, and I'm still not at ranked status, but it would have just taken me that much longer.

My biggest problem rn is i cant figure out how to get the slider to actually finish on another note, if that makes sense. Its just ends at an awkward timing.
8:36 so that's the reason why I often made straight lines by using distant snap and then go my cursor ti the edge then make circles all the way until a circle reaches the corner, so that I won't get these gross-looking stream shapes.. XP

One thing to notice on slider-art is that they should have a new direction on impacts in the song. That probably didn’t make sense.. if anyone can explain this better, please feel free to do so! I see alot of maps that don’t use this technique...

How to create another slider after the first slider? :o I'm just editing some maps that actually have nonsense timing, and how to save the map and publish it to Osu. :/ I actually like perfectly timed beats but other forgetting how beats are, like Music Rhythm thing. :/ Also I made a map just now and I think the map that I thought had been save but I think that's a scam. :/ I set the speed to 500 bgm something and other at 10k and 16 beats something, its easier for me in that way. XD

I think you're talking about a buzz slider. Make a shorter slider (i.e. 1/8 or 1/12 - increase the beat divisor if you have to) and drag its tail forward in the timeline to create several repeats.

When Sliders Go Really Short Sliders Go Invisible. I'ts Your Perfect Opportunity To Time A Circle YOURSELF. Because You Can't Normally Do That. Plus You Would Have To Make Hit Circles In The Design Tab. Which Is A Nightmare Probably.

Yeah that works as well. For those few 1/4 sliders you need it's easier to do the method you described rather than wasting time switching to a 1/8 beat snap.
