When everyone else jumped to computers they said I should adapt away from ADAT. But now , all these years later they just love my "Vintage " equipment.
@@creothetraveler4945 yes I certainly will. I have a few other things on the way to make this all work. I’m stepping away from computer based recording. I have two of them because they are 8 tracks each and 16 tracks when you sync them together. Dr Dre used these in his personal studio in the 1990s and he sold millions of records that were recorded with these
I’m actually using them as A/D converters on my focusrite saphire. Well listen to alanis morissette Jagged Little pill . She use these adats for about 80% of that record. It’s crazy to have A/D converters for 40$
@@charleskp947 look for the XT24 , they are 24 bit ADATS. They had a couple at the used instrument store I got these from. But one things to note. These are 16 bit but it’s full 8 16 bit converters. Note just one converter handling all 8 channels.
@@ThickCutOhio Sorry for the mixup. I now see the difference. I have the 20-bit version. I thought that was designated by the "XT", but it's not. The 20-bit version is actually called "Type II".
Dude, you've got your male & female all back to front! The connectors on the deck are female (the clue is they have holes!). The cable you need is male to male. At least you got there in the end, with your gender-changer cable, but you're still a bit "confused"! 🤔

Nice!
What are you going to use those for?? 🤔
My recording studio.
@@ThickCutOhio Cool. Hopefully you'll walk us through the whole process. I'm very curious and know zero about this Bro.

@@ThickCutOhio Interesting.... 🤔 I'm eager to watch and learn Bro.
I'm interested in picking up an alesis adat, just for the adat io. How do the convertors sound?

Yeah... It's just that they're 16bit... I guess I'd be using them in 24bit sessions. Didn't know that album was done on these

@@ThickCutOhio awesome, thanks for the tip there!

Your ADATs are the newer 20-bit models, not 16-bit.
No that’s the Alesis. XT20

One of my former college instructors explained male and female connectors like this, "HE'S got the pins, HE does the poking..!" hahahaha
