LA’s Totally Awesome vs Purple Power

  • After watching Jaykay18's video about cleaning his smoker, I decided to compare the LA's Totally Awesome, and the degreaser I've been using, Purple Power.
    I mixed both products with water, at a 1:1 ratio. Then sprayed half the oily pan with LA's, and the other half with Purple Power. My conclusion is that LA's did a better job, and at less cost.
    Purple Power costs $5 for 1 gallon, 128 ounces at Dollar General.
    LA's Totally Awesome costs $4 for 1 gallon, 128 ounces, so for a $5 total, I can buy an additional 32 ounce bottle for a total of 160 ounces at Dollar Tree.
    Sorry about the random zip tie in the way of the pan scene!

    LAs totally Awesome is the best item I've ever used. It beats the expensive products I use to use. Best Dollar you can spend. Thanks for turning us on to it. I never bought it because how good could it be for a dollar.

    I use Awesome to clean my motorcycle. It gets the bugs and occasional road tar off very well without damaging the paint and chrome. I don't water it down though, I just give it a good spray down at full strength.

      @@dennydeckerful Nah, to much build up 1 kan of engine degreaser is only good for klean something the equivalent size of a 4 barrel karberator. My van had 250,000 miles on it with zero engine & transmission kleaning done externally. 5 bottles of the 32 ounse. So that would be 2.5 bottles of the bulk at $1 Tree, Less Expensive & you kan use it on pretty much anything. Paint of Kar, Dishes, Tires, Rims, Mold Growth On Side of House, Kleaning Decks….. Greasy Hands is & Tools definitely, definitely rekommend it’s so cheap I buy a bottle & give it away to someone when I go to the $1 Tree bekause that stuff works so well.

    I use LAs Totally Awesome for a wide variety of cleaning. If you don't transfer to a different container, be sure to print off the label from online as it will be ruined over time. I sometimes find the larger container at Dollar Tree. I now see it in other stores also for a much higher price. That is a lot of product for that job, if the item was laid flat you would only need a couple squirts. Also read the pros and cons, it can remove paint from a grill by accident. I have spent a lot of time in DT talking to other customers who are curious about it. Their other products are also good, again if you use carefully.

    • @dynatrak
      @dynatrak  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it's a great product! I've also found it makes a great ultrasonic cleaner solution, no more than 10:1 though.
      According to the the manufacturer's dilution scale, the engine category is straight, full strength, and that's exactly the mess I had to clean, grime from a leaky engine. That seemed way to strong for this instance, as the grime wasn't baked on by engine heat, so I decided 1:1 would be appropriate. In reality, I used half the recommended rate.
      Again, this was a product demonstration, and I wanted to demonstrate the oil, and grease sheeting off the surface of the pan. That's quite difficult to do, in real time, if it were lying flat!
      Agreed, and I understand this product. I states, first thing, right on the directions: test in a hidden corner to check for colorfastness, and stability, before use.
      I've had great success mixing per the dilution scale, or a bit weaker, with no catastrophes.
      I hope to see some product demonstrations on your channel sometime!

    WHY DID YOU MIX IT WITH WATER ?

    • @dynatrak
      @dynatrak  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Because you are supposed to mix it with water since the products are concentrated. The directions say to do that, depending on what needs to be cleaned. Also makes the product last longer.

      Not in this case. There is no hot water out in the back yard, and no container large enough to soak this pan.

      I use to use dawn dish soap to klean my engine, but I use this stuff now. Well the LAs Awesome Orange in the 64oz Bottle. I was skeptikal at first but you will never be disappointed with this stuff. I use it religiously on everything after kleaning an engine with 250,000 miles on it with years of kakked on grease, oil & dirt to zero debris finish with a little agitation from a tooth brush on the very lower extremities like the oil pan & transmission krevises.
