I've watched 62 videos of the Lacan series and I can't thank you enough for doing the work I would never have the time or patience or ability to do.

it’s nice to consider the structure of the word “pathology”: the logic of suffering; the suffering of language

can obsessional subject traverse into a hysterical subject or even a psychotic break?

I do think the same subject can move from obsessional to hysteric neurosis, and visa versa. They are in part each defined by the position they take to a master. Progress in analysis could even be considered when one moves from an obsessional to a hysterical structure, as the latter entails a recognition that the Big Other lacks, eventhough there continues to be a “need” for this Master, if only to provoke it. I’m less certain that someone can move from neurosis to psychosis, since once symbolic reality is fully installed its difficult to to undo that except by brain injury or disease. Going from psychosis to neurosis may be possible, especially since we all start out psychotic. Whether or not its possible for a psychotic to become “neuroticized” later in life, I suppose it happens but only rarely.

@@SingularityasSublimity Can obsessional neurosis be likened to what is observed in the default mode network and its hyperactivity that is associated with rumination, excessive self-focus and negative thought patterns observed in depression? Then taking into consideration the introduction of psychotropic substances and their influence on disrupting the DMN, could this be likened to a pharmacologically induced psychotic break in Lacanian terms?

I notice you hide your real name very carefully. Is it possible to give you credit in my research in some way?

Its an omission with less intention than it might seem. If you need a name for citation, its Brian W. Becker.
