I gotta say Matt Murray was really good in net all those goals were by bad bounces, defensive breakdowns, or a combination of the two. The Senators really came out hard and gave a lot of excitement.

That was a close game in Ottawa. Matt Murray got his revenge against the Sens, Kerfoot saved the day in the Shootout, and the Leafs did not blow a 2 goal lead. Thank God the Leafs didn't blow a 2 goal lead or else I would've lost it! What a game! On to the Islanders game! LET'S GO LEAFS!

This was an amazing game!! I'm a Leafs fan and believe it or not, I wasn't at all upset when Ottawa tied the game with ten seconds left. They deserved at least a point that night, they played exceptionally well! They are still trying to make a playoff run and have a very promising future! I can't believe how crammed the Eastern Conference is right now! I also thought the Leafs played solid considering they played the night before and that was a very big win for them!

It really was a great experience, it was my first NHL game and it was so tense.
The first Leafs goal by McCabe reminds us how great it is to have this guy under contract with only a $2M cap hit for two more years.
The "alley-oop" goal against Murray that bounced up in the air before finding the back of the net was just the hockey gods messing with him. You could almost hear a voice from the clouds: *"No shut-out for you tonight my son bwahahaha."*
The last goal in the dying seconds made me jump on the bench Justin Holl bandwagon.
When he arrived at the puck first on the far boards under pressure, he had but one choice and that was to rag the puck to the corner until he could get help from another white sweater.
What did he do instead?
Like a friggin peewee he wacked the puck behind him, past the pressuring forward to an area inside the point with two dark sweaters and not a white sweater to be found. Basically a pass to the Ottawa point.
Make no mistake, the coach took notice and with extra defenders there are other options.
One thing I loved was Keefe sending out Bobby McMann for the shoot-out. Hey, why not send out a guy that the opposing goalie has not likely seen?
First sens goal is one of the most flukey things I have ever seen. Smh.
Murray played well. The go leafs go chant on first goal was very atmospheric.

Nope. Thrilled we dont have to deal with his often injured, inconsistent play. You're handcuffed to him for 2 years. I remember shaking my head years ago when I read we were looking to trade for him. Hed already fallen in Pittsburgh. Ya every now and then hes solid otherwise hes average or below, and that's when hes not often injured. And hes the leafs goalie option with their last 2 years of Austin Matthew's. 🤣👉

Shots 49 to 27 by Ottawa, who also led big in scoring chances. Yet needed overtime. Ottawa with this coach isnt going to see a playoff game. The past 3 seasons I thought the leafs would go on a deep run. But no, maybe they win one round this year. That's all. The leafs just dont have it. They struggle against low ranked teams. Nobody does that and goes far in the playoffs.
I think Ottawa is secretly a playoff deep run contender given one more year and a healthy goaltender core tbh. I wouldn't be too worried about the Leafs doing well in the playoffs (besides facing the Lightning guaranteed which will always be a good series no matter what).

I watched from Raleigh a very entertaining hockey game. The Leafs are so loaded with talent now. And the Sens have a couple of really good players to keep an eye on maybe-perhaps the core of a much better team next season. All those shootout rounds-epic! Hats off to both teams.

Toronto needs a 2nd team.. NHL listen the GTA is the only place you can place a team that will be a sellout for 100 yrs regardless how the team plays.. more than 50% all NHL players are from ONT.. hockey is religion in Ontario
It does make you wonder why no second team. Arizona is just not working out and FL is half empty most of the time. I'm talking the Panthers here, not Tampa.
For another team they'll need another arena and Toronto or the GTA isn't going to contribute to build it. So whoever wants another team in Toronto will have to build the arena through private funding.

Defense dropped the ball in this game and that cant happen with Murray in net. The gamed ended with 45 shots on goal from Ottawa? That is not good. Many times I have seen Rielly jumping up ofdensively and then getting caught in transition. Even though the leafs are in cup contention.... murray + the defense will lose it for us.
So, then u say "we have samsonov with much better number".

Because he faced 48 shots and let in 4 goals that means he finishes with a 923 sv percentage, Sogaard in the early stage of the game he let in 3 consecutive goals on 13 shots. While Murray stopped 19 shots and let in 1 goal. So yes Murray is the better goaltender. Forsberg is at a low 902 save percentage as a Starter as for Cam Talbot being 905. Matt Murray is 905 as of right now and he's a back up. Talbot along with Forsberg let in 4-5 goals per game and we're lucky to see 1-2 or even a shutout. Stay mad sens fan 🤡🤡🤡🤡

When is Ottawa going to develop their own fan base? It's been 30 years and even in the best days of the 2000's Montreal and Toronto played home games in Ottawa. Heard the same thing tonight.
When it comes to Toronto and Montreal it will always be that way. Also, Ottawa as a city is full of people from other parts of Canada even though their arena is nowhere near Ottawa

Toronto and Montreal have 100 years of history to build off of, with a history of winning in the past. Also much bigger cities that are only a few hours away and much cheaper to attend an away game in Ottawa then a home in their own city.
Ottawa got a team in the 90’s, but most of the hockey fans in the area were already Leaf or Habs fans since they were the only option to cheer for locally.

Murray played very well. The officials were awful - far too many missed calls, and bad calls. by the blind zebras on this night. Perhaps the NHL should give these officials ophthalmic examinations to its on-ice personnel so that proper corrective lenses can be prescribed for their officials. I wonder how often they get bruised needlessly by walking into doors and parking meters...

Perhaps you saw the officials as favoring Ottawa - that's the only reason I can see for you assuming I'm a Leaf fan. As for Murray, the Sens took 52 shots at him, so I don't think saying he played well is partisan.
