Nicole Kidman's performance in this movie is really something else. In a way, it's more her movie than Lucas Hedges', because her character is the one that has the more dramatic arc. I hope they push her for best supporting actress in this movie, because she really deserves it.

It is absolutely unbelievable to realize this kind of therapy exists still!! And the most vulnerable of our citizens are most subject to it, our children. Such a disgrace. Especially to the ones who advocate its practice. I hope someday these organizations are banned forever from hurting the innocent.

The Vice President and his wife are very much in favour of promoting gay conversion therapy. Wth those kind of people in positions of power it's almost impossible to get unfair and bigoted policies changed these days!

Ban ABA too. Conversion therapy for autistics. No different to how gays are treated in these cults.

if you look at the trailer, Nicole talks and sounds like the real Nancy Eamons. She'd better won another oscar.

@@davejones5747 Maybe so, but later on she came around and she was the one that got him out of there, has owned up to her mistakes multiple times and she and her son are really close now. If you watch other videos and interviews with them, especially when they're together you can see the love between and just how good their relationship is now and that when it comes up, she owns up to what she did. She doesn't put up an act or anything about it, she just tells it as it is

@@1femalegeek she still shouldn't have done it in the first place. yes she saved his life and that's great but her and especially her husband are at fault here for putting him thru that. i mean they should have checked to see if the therapy was legit instead of just blindly believing that it'll work.

This movie is a blessing. Nobody can know what we go through. Especially when we are Christians. If we want our parents to love us and accept us just like we are. How we can feel when we are told that God doesn't love the way we are and because of that we have to be somebody else. 😟😢 Just God knows. I was raised in a religious sect. I fasted for 3 days, with out any water or food, I slept with a stone as a pillow, naked cover with ashes because I was told in this church that it will change me. A lot of other things I went through. I got married and even do I had two kids. I never felt what I did for a woman when I was 44 and had intimacy with a woman. I cried a lot one day and I felt the love of God in my heart and that let me know that God love me just like I am. I know is because people not understand. After I got out of the closed. I knew who really appreciated me. Of all the women I helped and that said to be my friend just one remain my friend but I don't care. The years that I have left I'm going to be myself and share my story. If we don't do it, who will? 🙏❤🌎

That's something you say when someone makes a fool of you more than two times ("Shame on you! And shame on me!"). You'd be angry at yourself as well as the other person.

How to get a child of any age to forgive for abuse they suffered when they shouldn’t.
Answer: Brainwash into thinking Mom was the victim also in the abuse she created. That’s pretty much what the mom shows you in this movie and interviews. She lucked out having such a forgiving son.

I haven't seen the movie "Boy Erased" (although I have read the book), but I have watched one with a similar theme- "The Miseducation Of Cameron Post", about a girl outed as gay and sent to a conversion camp. So cruel and unnecessary.

I absolutley love Nicole, hoever when she said she did not know about convertion therapy, it sounded like a lie. Having lived with Tom Cruise and knowing Scientology, she most know about this. It's common practice. Or maybe they REALLY where treated different as celebrities in that cult. Love her anyway and can't wait to see her in this movie.
