I have a 94 Runner W/ 32'S on it. Love it
I love my 1991 3VZE myself👍🏼 I love Toyota’s they last and they are tough 💪🏼
Bro I love your stomper..I’m building the same thing but a 1980 yota. Also I’m installing a 22re !
Sick build man !!
Williediesel420 thanks!
2rz runs smooter than 22re
Love the look of that truck, cool cage setup too.
Wow so nice trock
Gotta love first generation yota pickups
Spotted Del Sol seats. Nice 🤘🤘
They have since been swapped for some PRP Podium seats but I still have them.
@@turbostoybox2182 nice looking Toyota pickup..
What are Del Sol seats? Struggling to find some comfy, supportive seats that are low enough to fit in my 1st gen, I'm not a big guy, but quite long at 6ft, any suggestions would be appreciated 👍
That cage really should to be an exoskeleton. Because I'm almost certain the left side of my head has a few cracks, from off-roading yota's through the years. And at 6'2" I dont see that SHOE helmet (sticker on the glove box) fittin in there with me wearing it. Nice pickup.
Ed with my low seats, shorter he aight, and the cage being tight to the ceiling I have safe clearance. Not a fan of the exo look so we took time to make sure this was safe and tight to the roof.
BAAAADASS build man.
My favorite part of this truck is it reminds me of a micro machine I used to Have! ROck on man!
Best video I have watched. Thank you
Awesome Hilux mate 👌🏻
Thank you!
this truck is one onf my favorite on youtube great build :)
js Vallee thank you! Next round of improvements coming. Just received my rcv axle shafts, and gears for the oem E-locker I picked up for the front. 👍🏼
Love that original paint, nice that gas comp door , 22re? Your the man
Gary Brizzi Yes built 22re. 10.5:1 comp, bored .060 over, bigger cam and dual valve springs.
@@turbostoybox2182 love It I had 1983 all tricked out in California, they stoled it, now have 1988 xcab been restoring it For 5 years now it's in tijuana getting full chassis y body work and paint job! Salute you!!
it looks super cool! great job!
Fn cool I have an 86
We love this yotasssssss
Love this truck!
May Sound crazy, but I want too do this to my chevy 1st gen Colorado. I am making plans currently. SAS at front end!
Es una rreliquia esa troca
Hello very nice build!!! I working on mine same Toyota pickup i need to know your steering setup because mine is not power steering it has the original low steering arm
@@DeKaYSuPrA I mounted a newer toyota power steering pump and ifs steering gearbox 86-94 using a trail gear steering box mount kit. I then used a trail gear crossover steering kit to connect to the axle.
After your performance on truck night in America, I'd say it's time for some anti wrap bars for the rear
Danny Mayes check out my instagram @wpajh it got one last week!
Very nice
I love it!
awesome, love it
I had asked on the other guys channel,,,did you move those front hangers besides reinforcements
Tom Jones The front hanger is in the stock location, I just added some gussets.
@@turbostoybox2182 what about your pinion angle,,how did you compensate for that,,
@@clayton203 I did slip some pinion angle shims between the spring and axle, I have the type bolted into place by the spring centering pin.
@@turbostoybox2182 did you fab the center pin longer to seat through the shims into the perch,,is what I’m thinking,,
@@clayton203 I purchased new longer spring center bolts locally from a custom spring shop and the shims came from summit racing.
Internal pump or inline pump
Antonio Hutron in-line
Awesome!
So what exact shocks did you use on the rear with the Chevy leaf springs,,length and all of that,,and did you use stock location on shock mounts or do something different on that as well
Tom Jones up until a couple weeks ago it had rear shocks from a 04 Silverado 2500hd with a 2” lift. Stock top mount and welded a bolt to
The housing for the lower mounts. Just swapped out for used Bilstein 5100 from a jk with a 3” lift. Working on fabricating new top mounts to use the JK fronts also.
Turbo’s Toybox man,,you do a lot of fabricating,,do you have a good rule of thumb when measuring for shocks,,
Turbo’s Toybox ok summit had a video,,some thing are overthought,,which was my problem,,looks easy enough,,but thanks for responding to my questions,,👍🏻
I'm doing the same build how did u do youre fuel tank
Antonio Hutron fuel tank is a 16gal fuel cell in the bed with a remote mounted electric pump, wired to factory harness. Plumbed in to stock filter up at the engine.
fucking beautiful
Do the IFS front hubs mount onto the 83 front axle without any special adapters? Or does it require an adapter? I want to do the same thing I have a 1993 Toyota pickup I want to use the hubs off of and rear axle
Centricthree It uses the exact same bearings and seal, I removed the spindle hub nut and slid on the ifs hub. You do not need to replace the spindle itself.
Hey does that 22re drop right onto the stock 20r motor mounts and transmission bolts?
Honestly I’m not sure. I built this from a frame and a cab I purchased. This engine, trans, mounts and such all came from a 1987 4Runner donor. The trans mount didn’t line up, I had to make my own crossmember for that. I’m thinking they have to be close, I used the stock frame locations for the engine mounts.
how did you mount the front leaf spring's ? ive got a messed up one on the furthered front mount
Chris Potwin my leafs are mounted to the oem front hanger which I have reinforced with some extra metal and welds.
What bodies can fit on the 83 chassis
1979-1983 were all the same. I have read about guys swapping 1984-1988 “”second gen” bodies onto this frame with minimal issues, but I don’t have any experience with it myself.
529 gears ...???... this thing is a freakin billy goat...
Dan Strausbaugh 5:29 axle gears and dual transfer cases. Final crawl ratio of like 102:1 🤘🏼🤣🤘🏼
With a dual T-case that is unnecesseraly low. Id stick with a 4.88 final ratio since that pinion gear only has 7 teeth, of which 1 instead of 2 teeth push the 37 tooth ring gear, in that 5.29 setup. Basically even if its a lighter load, off roading causes heavy stress when rock crawling. And that pinion at 5.29 becomes rather small on that 8" setup.
What size of rims did you have before?
Eduardo Lopez in this video it has 17x9 steel wheels, the truck now has 17x9 aluminum Dirty Life beadlock wheels.
Thank you and thanks for taking the time to reply love your truck brother
What is the tires size??
Antonio Elkhoury 37”
And what engine?
Antonio Elkhoury built 22re 10.5:1 compression, bored .60 over, shaved head and block, big cam with heavy duty valve springs, Doug Thorley header and 2.25” exhaust.
First gen Hilux started in 68 this is third gen
What do you want for it
skyfual sorry but she’s not for sale. It’s way cooler than this now! Check my Instagram @thestomper
Did the 86 pickup springs mount to the stock front mounts or did you cut them off and move them forward? If so, how far? I have an 83 aswell and I want to do the rears up front
Nigel Seggie I used the stock location, however I did reinforce the stock hanger by welding gussets to my bumper.
Sweet! Where did you get those HUGE boomerang shackles? 3/8 or 1/4 thick? If you made them, how big are they? I am following your truck as I’d like to build mine identical
Nigel Seggie I had Jacob at Off Road Anonymous cut them out of 1/4” plate.
A.J. Hanna right on. Do you know the dimensions center to center of the holes ?
Nigel Seggie 5.5” hole to hole.
