AT HOME SMALL DOG WATER THERAPY in a bathtub at a Katie Pace // hydrotherapy for luxating patella

I tried hydrotherapy to help Katie with her luxating patellas and what I suspect is a torn acl causing her pain. Because she is a small dog we tried water therapy at home in our bathtub at a Katie Pace. This was our first time trying it. I decided not to continue water therapy until she is healed up. But once she is I will be trying to use this to keep her building muscles. Katie is only 2 1/2 years old, she is part yorkie, park rat terrier and has luxating patellas in both of her back legs.

My 6lb Chihuahua is going to have the Patella surgery and I'll be doing Hydrotherapy for her rehab. She has grade 3 in one leg and grade 4 in the other. It was really helpful to watch someone do it...thank you so much!

my dog will need this eventually. I should start get him used to it by first putting him in an empty tub and give some treats there. Gradually increase the water level over a month. Thank you for the video.

May I suggest placing her very very slowly into the water. So gradual that she hardly notices. Also put your hand under her chest/belly area so that she feels supported but she will still move her legs. You are very patient with her. Good pet mama you are❣️

Hello thank you for sharing. I just received the life jacket for my 17(thought he was 16 but was mistaken😂) year old Yorkie. Going to try it on Gizmo. Seen other videos too. I was thinking of trying to find just the right amount of water where he can swim, but then if I release my grip he'll be standing, in order for him to feel more secure until he knows he is not in danger.
He got weak back legs, patella problems.

My dog just had the surgery on the back right knee kneecap was rubbing on bone on one and popping out side. He had a deeper groove plus wire pins to hold in place

Put a non-slip plastic sheet at bottom. Doggie feel safe when walking on a non-slip surface.
