      @@plnkfloydian7814 In this case, the evidence proves my opinion. Look at what happens with any police shooting. Not all of them are unjustified, but people always jump to conclusions against the police. Sadly, even when the body cam proves the shooting was justified, they claim the video was tampered with. A perfect case of jumping to conclusions was the Duke Lacrosse rape accusations. Because all the players were white males and the accuser was a black female, everyone jump[ed to the conclusion that the boys were guilty. Even after the evidence kept piling up AGAINST the accuser and FOR the players, people were still accusing them. She is now in prison for killing her boyfriend. BTW, the every one of the professors that signed that letter against the boys need to apologize NOW.

I can still embarrass my Mom by recalling several times when she did, but the reason they're so memorable is that it happened so rarely.

    I gotta admit, being female from the same generation, I agreed with everything he said. Without getting too dark/personal, I am also a survivor of abusive relationships. You can't believe every woman simply based on her gender, however. Men never get a pass. I did find it interesting that he mentioned feeling emasculated by a girl beating you up, and that's the mentality my generation a was raised in. I'm only 46, obviously I don't feel that old, but it is an interesting conversation to have regarding the literal confusion that each generation must face. It's no wonder people are still comfortable with the term "wore the pants" when suggesting the woman's desires and actions made it clear who made the rules and was considered the "boss" of said relationship. It's a very fascinating study into the history of relationships and human behavior in general. Either way, I think we've gone off the proverbial deep end when it comes to trying not to offend anyone. It's sewn some dangerous fields of division:(

Happy Wife, Happy Life has been around for decades.....let alone the wife turning off s3x with I have a headache at any moment that doesn't please them....With the no fault divorce from 70s, men have had to walk on ice with regards to marriage....now as we see the marriage rates are way down, while divorce is still up with 80% according to statistics filed by women. kids get too much power to the point where they can sue their parents and win. Now I'm a 'grumpy' 30 year old cuz I am just dead tired of all this emotional nonsense from certain people, particularly liberal woke left.
      There's a pattern of enablism and worship of weakness and victimhood starting from women defending criminals and bad behavior just to be nice.
      That line may not make sense but you'll see what I mean soon enough. Esp now that we're seeing society waking up to the fact that patriarchy IS NOT a problem in the West, its the abuse from women against men that's the problem, with women getting up to 40% less penalty for the same crime men commit, and women can get away with changing their mind about giving consent to sex at the last second.

      100% agreed. I'm only 31, but I swear I feel like I was born in the wrong generation. What's happened to young people? They're supposed to be edgy, and experimental, and pushing the limits like every new generation before them, but instead kids are turning into these sensitive woke keyboard warriors who get offended on behalf of other genders, races etc., then end up going to weeks of therapy because they read a mean comment on youtube. It's just baffling.

    Being the roughly the same age as Conan and Bill and growing up in suburban Boston in an Irish Catholic family as both Bill and Conan did I can completely relate to the unfinished dinner for breakfast as it happened to me on more than one occasion. My Mom God love her was a tough lady with an evil streak. Many times she would go toe to toe with myself and my siblings often with the dog's leash (didn't like hurting her hand) only to burst into crocodile tears in front of my Dad when he got home completely setting him off

    • @Anubis78250
      @Anubis78250 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Same here. "Your mother slaved over the stove to make you this meal, you will eat it." Or the classic "There's millions of children in China starving right now, you're not throwing that food out." I remember my brother and I being made to sit at the dinner table for what seemed like hours, so that we could explain when Dad got home why there was peanut butter all over the dining room walls. Mom would never get physical with us, but my God that woman could put on a guilt trip, and you always knew whatever you got into you were going to pay for it when Dad got home from work.

    My dad never hit my sister or me. He just had that "Dad thing." If he said don't do something; you never did it. My mom spanked with whatever she could get her hands on, but my dad came home early one day, and saw my mom hitting me with a hanger. He yelled at her not to ever hit me again. My mom would also ground me for two weeks. A few hours into my "sentence," my dad would come in and say, "you can go." My mom never said anything. My dad never hit my mom either. Both me and my sister grew up as good, respectful, kind people. I think my parents just set great examples, and I know my dad did not like hitting, because his mom and dad physically fought.

    just to give you an idea of what he is referring to, years ago there was a movement where the government stepped in to stop child abuse, yet in doing so failed to properly define what child abuse is, so basically it is known today that if you leave a mark on your child that lasts over 24 hours it is considered abuse...any law definition of child abuse can mean jail time, and the loss of your children where they will then be raised in foster care, or sometimes a close family member...However when these laws were put forth, the definitions were not received well, so parents went to the extreme of no discipline, and children were misusing this power of reporting their parents whenever they didn't get what they wanted. For me it begs to question of who and how do you sue mother nature when your kid falls off a bike, or falls out of a tree, or should your child live a life of solitary confinement on a leash to prevent natural consequence...Also now that children do not get taught consequence, this is why children abuse the system, and end up in jail as adults...

    He is 100% correct. Parents are way to soft. “Sit in your feelings chair” GTFO. Kids need a smack upside the head and need to be taught til show respect. Sir and Ma’am should be everyday vernacular.

      Dude, I agree! I am over a half century old and "Sir" and "Ma'am" and "Thank you" and "Please" and "Pardon me" don't seem to mean as much as was hammered into me as a child. If I am right I think that is a pity!

    I *always* assume talk show hosts (or side kicks) chat to guests before the show. That way they everyone is confident they can fill the time, play along, even be seen to encourage the guest, and not risk the guest straying into contentious areas. Conan might not do that because he knows Bill Burr as a guest so well, However, everyone is being paid by advertisers, so 'a loose cannon' might be too big a financial risk. *Summary: Assume the conversation is pre-agreed.*
    Best Wishes. ☮
