Hey Drew, thanks for visiting our beautiful island- the exposure is much much appreciated. Just a few notes: 1. That “Chicken Dinner” is NOT AT ALL LOCAL, that was a Chinese restaurant. Much of the locals try to stay away from that relatively poor quality cuisine. 2. Drew hey I'm a random passerby I saw your video in my recommendations and I just have to say as a Kittitian (someone born and raised in St. Kitts) they over charged you for alot of those items. The coconut especially you could get for 5 EC (~2 USD). Taxis are insanely expensive and I recognized the store you got the chicken an rice from and if you asked someone before hand the would have told you not to waste your money there. The video tho was interesting I'm glad you gave an honest review although your $100 could have carried you much much further.

St. Kitts and Nevis - what a truly beautiful place! As my wife and I spent our honeymoon there over a decade ago, I don't think that this video captures enough of what makes St. Kitts and Nevis so special. First of all, St. Kitts and Nevis is the smallest independent nation in the Western Hemisphere and the oldest English-speaking islands in the Caribbean. Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park is a "must" for anyone visiting St. Kitts as it is a UNESCO World Heritage site - fascinating history with incredible views. Caribelle Batik at Romney Manor specializes in beautiful, locally produced batik clothing; and the beaches at Frigate Bay and Cockleshell are terrific (the latter has a commanding view of Nevis). Mount Liamuiga is the tallest mountain (a dormant volcano) that features excellent hiking. Basseterre is a pleasant and walkable national capital (the Circus in the center of town) full of restaurants, markets, and shops. From Basseterre you can take a ferry to gorgeous Nevis - the epitome of the unspoiled Caribbean full of history, gorgeous beaches, lush hills and mountains, and old sugar plantations converted over to boutique hotels. Charlestown, the capital and largest town of Nevis, is compact and features the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton. The local cuisine, particularly seafood (i.e., spiny lobster), is terrific throughout St. Kitts and Nevis. The local rums are great, and the people are very friendly.
I'm a Nigerian. Lived in St Kitts for some years. Attended Medical Sch there. My 2 kids r Kittitians, I had d 1st while in Medical School. Left after graduation. Few years later visited and delivered my 2nd child there. I love St Kitts.
Im Caribbean and Im so excited that you are there right now, was waiting on you to go back 🇯🇲😁 love your videos man, and yes it’s super expensive especially on the smaller islands so I do feel for u man
The best thing about St. Kitts is that it is one of the strongest passports in the world with more than 150 countries visa free, but what’s even more great that you can buy their passport for $150,000 and get the citizenship as well
With all due respect, as a Kittitian I am very displeased. This video made St. Kitts look like a mediocre place which is far from the truth. St. Kitts is one of THE MOST BEAUTIFUL Caribbean islands that I have been to(and I have visited a lot). These are some of my concerns. 1. The fish lunch actually was not overpriced. That is the price of a regular fish lunch in St. Kitts. Plus, you got different sides so no worry. 2. 'The Chinese' as we call it, is NOT a local place where local dishes are served. That is a place where the Chinese sell their dishes and also have a supermarket and hotel. 3. You could have actually gotten a bus to Brimestone Hill. If you asked someone how to get there they would have shown you the bus terminal where you could have gotten a bus for $3.50 EC the most. The round trip would've been $7.00 EC the most. 4. To get a proper hotel in St. Kitts, you have to spend more than $50 US. 5. You can have a lot more fun with $100 US in St. Kitts. With the right people there to guide you to places where things are far cheaper, you would have had more money to do more things. So many things could be done in Basseterre for free. Basseterre and the whole of St. Kitts is full of rich history. St. Kitts is a very developed country. Even though it is very small, it has one of the highest cost of living in the Caribbean islands around it. Because of this, you cannot spend $100 US in St. Kitts and expect a comfortable lifestyle. Also, because of all the things that St. Kitts has to offer, you cannot spend 24 hours there. St. Kitts is a country where time is needed so that you can explore the island and do various activities. I suggest that you come back, contact me prior and spend a good amount of time in St. Kitts so that you can experience the real beauty that this small yet beautiful island has to offer. I spent 1 week in St Kitts and Nevis for one week. I spent about $25 US for taxis to get to the airport. $100 for taxis tours. $140 for the train tour. $460 EC for everything else. I went to the same Chinese place in the video. I recognize the person at the counter.
Drew :Walks into the hotel room and just talk to the camera Gordon Ramsey:Walks into the hotel room and turns the whole bed around to find for bugs and takes out a hygeine monitor
There’s sooooo many misleading things in this video and I am not even gonna touch on what other persons had pointed out like the Chinese food place (not even going to call it a restaurant) our public health department constantly shut down those food places 🤣not going say for what we all have an imagination 1. from the time he walk from the airport to the coconut stand it’s not a 30 mins walk it’s about 5 to 7 mins walk 2. That’s not a hotel you stayed at in the middle of town it’s a motel (I would not get in details as to what goes on there 3. You would of passed our famous “The Circus” historic site on your way to the square and you would not of even had to ask anyone about the history as it’s written on it I challenge you to come back and really learn and enjoy my beautiful St. Kitts ☀️
Avalette I agree with you. He was definitely not able to capture the true essence of St.Kitts. Since he was only on a $100 budget its very unlikely he could. I will be featuring St.kitts again on a next upcoming trip. Hopefully you will watch.
It's amazing that he came to the beautiful island of St.kitts, stayed in a guest house, bought dinner at a Chinese restaurant, and called it the St.Kitts experience.. Joke ..St.Kitts is a lady she can't be bought for $100 or get to know her in 24 hours. lol lol
When I was a kid my family almost moved to St. Kitts for my moms work. Ended up not doing it last minute. Weird now seeing this video as an adult knowing I could’ve called this place home.
Well excuse the I. I was excited to click on this video because it's about my country where I was raised live and work, but your video doesn't not paint a decent look for my country. First of all yes we are expensive for the very reason you pointed out, however there is so much you could have done. For starters there are buses that run right by the airport which cost 2.50ec that would have taken you to town and buses that would have taken you to brimstone hill road for 7.00 round trip. You just needed to ask. A taxi will cost you. Good local cooked food is expensive so 30.00ec for a fish lunch is standard. Don't ever call Chinese local food. It's not and we ourselves don't like it. It's just convenient. Yes anything touristy is a bit pricey. What you needed to do was some research on what could be offered. Dirt bike riding, zip line, water sports, horse back riding, snorkeling, diving, golfing, party (there is always a party going on), hiking, train ride through the land or even the good old beach. We are a beautiful country and this video makes use look pitiful. As I said before yes we are expensive but so worth it. You cannot come some random day of the week without a plan and expect to enjoy yourself. I implore you to visit again and see what we have to truly offer.
I am glad you visited my island and enjoyed it for $100 that was cheap. Next time you visit for music festival or carnival or cricket or any other activity may be more but hooking up with a good buddie you will sure enjoy it more and who knows spend less or next to nothing. That is staying with a family would be awesome. Anyway remember to come again. A hike in the rainforest, yes Brimstone Hill, the Hot Springs in Nevis, etc.As a matter of fact you should have visited the sister island of Nevis next door by boat as like killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Yes 2 islands 1 paradise. Nevis for the Summer Festival is great also.Enjoy the rest of your travels around the world. As I said do come back.
Good day Drew. While I see you budgeted, I am of the view that your trip was not enjoyed to the fullest due to the mere fact that you limited yourself to $100 USD and the Capital. I feel the trip even if only for 24 hours could've been better organized with the help of a local. (Also bummed you came and didn't tell me😭😭😭) By the way the food you ate for dinner isn't "local food."
You can buy their passport , for 150000 usd for 4 persons which is 1 family without staying there. It's like investment in their country . I think top30 strongest passport in the world if I'm not mistaken . Before no need visa to Canada but recently the Canada government change it, now they need it. St kitt and nevis.
I am upset. You went to a Chinese restaurant and called that local food, your best bet was probably to ask a local where to get some proper food around town there are so many local people selling quality food in Basseterre, I feel misrepresented.
Hey next time you are in st.kitts .. contact someone you could have use the local transportation for $3.50 to carry you brimestone hill .. and for sure that dinner was not local it was Chinese
Wish you were with a local you would have had far more fun for far less. Could have gotten from the airport to the city centre for $2.50 ec, round trip to Brimstone hill for $10ec. A real Caribbean chicken and rice lunch for 15ec. An Air bnb for like 70ec.
This video is soooo misleading!!!!! As someone who lives in St. Kitts, there are soooooooooo many things for you to do on that island for under US$100!! First of all your hotel stay? Don't complain about anything if you spend $50 a night, that's a friggin steal if you ask me for a hotel on beautiful island! That room was spotless and spot on for $50. Secondly, not much to do? You were in Basseterre, the heart of the island! You could've asked any of the locals to point out any historical spot for you and they would and even give you a back story of that area. To make matters worse you were in Independence Square, the second most historical place next to Brimstone Hill! So even if you didn't make it to Brimstone Hill you damn sure would've been equally fine experiencing and getting to know the history of the square. Third, and lastly but best believe I can go on, you can tell your interaction with the locals was nonexistent! People would show you where to buy food for tasty and cheap and they would show you how to travel on the local buses for the low cost of US$1.50. How can you have so much criticism about a place when you do not interact and ask enough questions to get the full experience that you traveled there for? Overall, video was trash, call me biased but hey, I don't care 🤷🏾♀️
u mentioned that brimstone. In cases like this I just walk & hitchhike. I did it many times, many times just walked all of the distance. Once even 20miles

@@michellesamson7521 you seem dense. We good
Busses DO go from Basseterre to the fortress. You would have to walk up the driveway but many people do including group hikes.
I never have been more quick to click a video
Finally!! These series are the best
This is not a good video... you wasted cash... plan ahead... there is so much more you could do with 100 USD in Saint Kitts... from a Kittitian
Haha you could have gone to the strip where there are tons of fun bars and beautiful beaches! St. Kitts is lovely I lived there last year
A $100 Video after a long time
My godmother is from St. KItts! I've never been but am eager to go one day.
man u needed a tour guide...
You could have taken a bus to Brimstone Hill. Wouldn't have taken you up the hill but you could have walked up from the main road. Next time 😉
I live St.kitts

Hope u had a wonderful experience in my beautiful Homeland Saint Kitts
I live here he could have probably done more than that
Also that random restaurant was a Chinese one 😂 you ate Chinese food it's very cheap and affordable
Kairi HD and he stayed in their hostel our twin islands have a lot to offer. In the future research the mother colony of the West Indies
@3:08 thats not a local plate drew lol ,im happy u went to my island
I live in St . Kitts love your review of the country. However, the rice and chicken you ate is not local food, but Chinese food.
Da ain no Chinese food. Chinese food nuh look so. You even seen Chinese food with green bush mixed in rice and steam veggies on de side?
I spent 1 week in St Kitts and Nevis for one week. I spent about $25 US for taxis to get to the airport. $100 for taxis tours. $140 for the train tour. $460 EC for everything else. I went to the same Chinese place in the video. I recognize the person at the counter.
Drew :Walks into the hotel room and just talk to the camera
Gordon Ramsey:Walks into the hotel room and turns the whole bed around to find for bugs and takes out a hygeine monitor
Hey dude, i Love your Channel! From Brazil here! 😊
We also have coconut in India.
It feels amazing to have it during sunny days.
Next Caribbean islands you can go to Trinidad and tobago
There’s sooooo many misleading things in this video and I am not even gonna touch on what other persons had pointed out like the Chinese food place (not even going to call it a restaurant) our public health department constantly shut down those food places 🤣not going say for what we all have an imagination
1. from the time he walk from the airport to the coconut stand it’s not a 30 mins walk it’s about 5 to 7 mins walk
2. That’s not a hotel you stayed at in the middle of town it’s a motel (I would not get in details as to what goes on there
3. You would of passed our famous “The Circus” historic site on your way to the square and you would not of even had to ask anyone about the history as it’s written on it
I challenge you to come back and really learn and enjoy my beautiful St. Kitts ☀️
Avalette I agree with you. He was definitely not able to capture the true essence of St.Kitts. Since he was only on a $100 budget its very unlikely he could. I will be featuring St.kitts again on a next upcoming trip. Hopefully you will watch.
I’ve been to st kitts at the Marriott and it was great if you ever go back without a 100$ budget I suggest that

Drew you are really a inspiration for the young generation
It's amazing that he came to the beautiful island of St.kitts, stayed in a guest house, bought dinner at a Chinese restaurant, and called it the St.Kitts experience.. Joke ..St.Kitts is a lady she can't be bought for $100 or get to know her in 24 hours. lol lol
Well said. 24 hrs and now he knows the whole island. 🤭😠
And there are buses that takes u to brimestone hill! He vexing to watch!
Thank you!!!!!🇰🇳🇰🇳
Exactly Peter. Even some of the least fortunate SK person would scoff at a $100. That won't go anywhere. Please
When I was a kid my family almost moved to St. Kitts for my moms work. Ended up not doing it last minute. Weird now seeing this video as an adult knowing I could’ve called this place home.
Wow. That’s a really expensive place...
Ramadan Mubarak everyone! Wherever you are in the world, I hope you have a great month.
Drew come to my country the British Virgin Islands.. Also go to the United States Virgin Islands 🇻🇬🇻🇮
Lol. That hundred dollars wouldn't get him far in the USVI or BVI.
Yo. I'm visiting in August. Where the party at over there for grown folks?
What you Should do after your done going to every country is see how much you can get for $100 in mexico
Yes! And I'm so pissed cause he didn't get either Brimstone Hill sauce, or even Ting!
exactly this man just needs some education on skn
Food should not be that damn expensive on a island
I watched that and was like did he just eat Chinese food thinking it was local 😂😂😂
Woah Woah Woah! That enough
So true. St. Kitts has so much to offer and he did not get to experience its richness because he limited himself to Basseterre and $100 US
You can buy their passport , for 150000 usd for 4 persons which is 1 family without staying there. It's like investment in their country . I think top30 strongest passport in the world if I'm not mistaken . Before no need visa to Canada but recently the Canada government change it, now they need it. St kitt and nevis.
Wow that's expensive country.
It relies on tourism thi
Stfu how is it expensive when 100usd is 270ecd? Stupid ppl

How much cost the 25min flight?
~100 $
You should come to Anguilla. It’s close to st.kitts but more expensive. One of the best beaches in the world.
I am upset. You went to a Chinese restaurant and called that local food, your best bet was probably to ask a local where to get some proper food around town there are so many local people selling quality food in Basseterre, I feel misrepresented.
Hadya Mills you can tell he did not even speak to any of us and trying to pass off this foolish video about our island!
Hey next time you are in st.kitts .. contact someone you could have use the local transportation for $3.50 to carry you brimestone hill .. and for sure that dinner was not local it was Chinese
the food u had was chinese...u needed to taste or local dish.
Overall, video was trash, call me biased but hey, I don't care 🤷🏾♀️
i agree to some extent , he doesn't do much research on a place and losses precious opportunity but hey , that's adventure
Preach, Nicolette! Disrespectful colonizer.
