So, brilliant folks in Poland are mapping and calibrating the transmission of a car located in Boca Raton, Florida in real time?!? What a time to be alive! Sounds incredible!
Slap an 8HP90/70 in that thing and be done with it! Same features just a million times smoother. And you can keep the shift selector you have now using the turbolamik TCU. I have a big turbo LS7 Datsun with an 8HP90 and it’s amazing!!
That transmission is a very capable and stout transmission. But BMW never dreamed it would ever be behind a twin-turbo LS. This is a killer project, and ya'll just killing it! Love this channel!
I hate that you guys don't get more views. I don't even like ICE (I'd like to see more EV conversions but that's just me :) ) but I appreciate your fabrication skills and there's so much to learn from you guys.
I hope you get that trans worked out. That build is looking bad to the bone though! My first car was a 70 Chevelle and I've had almost every year since. Thanks for sharing!
Emtron ECU with its torque modelling paired with CANTCU transmission controller seems to be the best option for the BMW GS7D36SG with oem mechatronics. Food for thought. Awesome build though 👌
The rpms aren't dropping back down like they should and it's causing that jolt when the gears are shifting. We just need to let the transmission controller go through a few more adaptations to figure out where the ideal spots should be!
They've been done before! The BMW DCTs have been able to handle builds over 800hp with stock internals, which is one of the reasons we used it. The second is that the owner wanted the paddle shifters and all those little upgrades along with it!
For next time check out Maxxecu from Sweden. Their ecu can control the DCT as well. And there is a company is Sweden that has adapters almost any engine.
This is my favorite build so far but i think that trans will come out of there at some point and be swapped for a 10 speed with all the tuning issues. Just seems to much of a pain for the owner if they ever need to have it retuned.
Not anymore! Now that we have someone we can go to that works the software, tuning it in shouldn't be an issue down the road once the base mapping is set.
I have to ask the question, why couldn't you tether the phone to the laptop in order to provide internet? Great build. Once that transmission has adapted over time that is going to be a sweet ride.
At this point it's all just ironing out the tune. Now that its driving we can actually go in and modify the base mapping of the TCU to be able to get everything running smoothly
We would have to look up the specific paint codes - I think we talked about the paint on our episodes with the paint shop we used! It's very close to the GM Dark Red Metallic they used on the 90s corvettes mixed with the Hawaiian orchid paint they used around that date range as well! A deep red with some purple tones!
Love the car, but I can some time in the future the owner is probably going to swap the trans for something more practical, tried and true. So many builds like this they make changes because “it was never right”. No disrespect at all but sometimes that just the way these things go. Sure it could be lined out with a ton of time, couple burned up trans, lots of money but people usually throw in the towel and go with what already works.
These transmissions are built super stout from the factory, so it would take a lot to trash it. With a little more tuning the transmission should be shifting nice and smooth and handle the 800+ hp this thing is going to put out. But only time will tell!
@ I know they’re stout, just saying it seems like it’s taking some abuse while tuning it, at least in the video it seems like it was taking a beating. I know while something can take a beating it can only do so when operating correctly. I’m not trying to bash it. I love the build and I like how out of the box the transmission choice is was. I hope it works out.
I appreciate the work but I don't like this build. An SS is the thing of dreams and what I had in my head doesn't match the (close to) finished product
So, brilliant folks in Poland are mapping and calibrating the transmission of a car located in Boca Raton, Florida in real time?!? What a time to be alive! Sounds incredible!
It's really insane what we're able to do over the internet now!
The “folks in Poland” are the only ones that can make something out of it, and it’s still a dogs breakfast!
M539 Restorations gets his done in Germany from Poland as well.

I love that you show these builds are not all perfect the first time. Things happen and when its custom more things happen.
That's part of the excitement of building these things!
this makes me very happy, thanks Andrew for being you!!
What would we do without Andrew?
This is my favorite build I have ever seen on all of TH-cam, love this car
Thank you so much! That really means a lot to us! This build has been quite the long road but we're finally getting to the finish line
I've been waiting a long time for the LSX to rais her head again..
Great to see it back..😊
Hopefully no more hiccups from here on out!
Yes! The Chevelle build is finally getting done. It’s been a long road boys, but we are here. Congratulations 🎉
On to the dyno next!
That transmission is a very capable and stout transmission. But BMW never dreamed it would ever be behind a twin-turbo LS. This is a killer project, and ya'll just killing it! Love this channel!
It can handle some crazy power!... If we can get it shifting right! lol Thanks so much for the support
That car is absolutely beautiful man
Such a pretty car. I love Chevelle’s
Thank you!
Another great build from S2S.
Finally just about ready to get this thing out the door!
I was about to ask what’s up with this build, but as usual you guys are on point.
It's finally moving again! Just took a little bit of time and patience
I hate that you guys don't get more views. I don't even like ICE (I'd like to see more EV conversions but that's just me :) ) but I appreciate your fabrication skills and there's so much to learn from you guys.
We're hoping to maybe get with HP Tuners and their new EV controllers to see if we can bring the Tesla truck back for y'all!
@@SalvagetoSavage I think Holley (or someone) does a sweet Tesla swap drop-in for C10's. LS swaps are so 2010! :) :)
That thing is sick!
Thank you!
I hope you get that trans worked out. That build is looking bad to the bone though! My first car was a 70 Chevelle and I've had almost every year since. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! That's an awesome first car to have! We really appreciate you taking the time to tune in and watch
Another 🔥 video as usual! I love your content guys, keep up the good work.
Thanks for all the support!
Thanks Andrew, iron out the slush box and put the windshield in! I’m thinking next month to see another video of this car.
We're hoping in the next week or two we'll have it on the dyno!
70 Chevelle is a bad ass
Poland, yeah 🤟
I see what u did with charger with blacked out tail light surround 👌🏼 looks way better..
Emtron ECU with its torque modelling paired with CANTCU transmission controller seems to be the best option for the BMW GS7D36SG with oem mechatronics. Food for thought. Awesome build though 👌
We'll definitely look into it if we ever do a similar set up again!
It seems like the shifts are a bit hard and it was great to get some help with that transmission.
The rpms aren't dropping back down like they should and it's causing that jolt when the gears are shifting. We just need to let the transmission controller go through a few more adaptations to figure out where the ideal spots should be!
This the one I've been waiting on ❤
We're back on it! It's going to the dyno ASAP!
1st time I’ve seen a BMW trans matched to a LSX. Good luck. That seems counterproductive but I hope y’all get it tuned up and running good!!
They've been done before! The BMW DCTs have been able to handle builds over 800hp with stock internals, which is one of the reasons we used it. The second is that the owner wanted the paddle shifters and all those little upgrades along with it!

yikes, that transmission rough! looking forward to when she runs smooth
My savages ty 71 is 🔥
Thank you!!
Nah ty I appreciate y’all and the content seema content was amazing as well 🫡

you should go with a turbolamik TCU.
seems that trans could be a constant nightmere
Not anymore! Now that we have someone we can go to that works the software, tuning it in shouldn't be an issue down the road once the base mapping is set.

Great build. Once that transmission has adapted over time that is going to be a sweet ride.
We tried! The internet speed we needed for him to control the computer was too high for the phone's output
I wanted it done 😅
We got you Luis! On to the rollers next!
Still amazing Werk 🫡🔥💪🏽💯
That's a 70
The car looks better in orange
Was the juice worth the squeeze?
I know right
Why?
It definitely was!
That car looks like it has the hiccups! I feel your frustration. I bet you wish you put in a 6L80 instead.
At this point it's all just ironing out the tune. Now that its driving we can actually go in and modify the base mapping of the TCU to be able to get everything running smoothly
Is that color the GM Hawaiian Sunset, mainly used on the gen four corvette? either way that is a spectacular looking Chevelle.

Seems like a lot of effort to have an M shifter.
💪👊👏
Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
Well we did anyway!
Isn't saying "DCT transmission" like saying "ATM machine"? 🤔
It's definitely been feeling like it!
Too bad Tremec doesn't sell their DTC to individuals.
That would have made our lives so much easier!
Please color match the hood and bumpers
Well we got some major updates coming when it comes to the color... again lol
Love the car, but I can some time in the future the owner is probably going to swap the trans for something more practical, tried and true. Why does the Chevelle uses a BMW M3 F80 shifter rather than an R231 Mercedes-AMG SL63/SL65 shifter?
Because we're using a BMW DCT transmission
That thing is sexxxxxyyyy
Thank you!!
I liked the orange color better, that color doesn't suit her.
Well it looks like we might be repairing her anyways! So just you wait!
Got damit!
Dcts in 70’s muscle cars are clearly just too much hassle for what it’s worth. Clearly. It Just don’t belong. Tremec 5 speed and call it a day
I mean, if you wanna be like every other LS swapped Chevelle then sure!
Screw all those electronics! No thanks nothing but issues forever.
I just got a chubby
Just wait till we get it on the dyno!
Why not an 4L80 🤷🏽♂️
We went over all of that in one of the first episodes!
@@SalvagetoSavage I didn't see the 1st episode 🤦🏼♂️ checking it out now
Still having a few problems with that tranny...OMG that sounded insensitive, I ment transmission. not transgender!
I appreciate the work but I don't like this build. An SS is the thing of dreams and what I had in my head doesn't match the (close to) finished product
There's always the opportunity to build an SS exactly how you dream it up!
