I dont think there are a lot of cheaters in PS2 but I definitely think there are far more cheaters than a lot of people think there are especially if we include tweaking latency and such... if that makes sense.
It's between 5% and 10% of active players that are hacking The problem is that those do make the majority of kills, meaning, that yes, the majority of the time you are killed, you are killed by hackers.
@@sixten7920that’s probably true. I mean if you look back to the DX11 update for Planetside 2 and suddenly all the amazing players on all servers, who never uploaded videos or streamed btw, played really bad in comparison. Even though the update brought a big performance boost 🤔
@chinoYochino when an turret is flying around, and getting kills.... That's cheating. When someone fires through walls, that's cheating. Play more. They rarely show face around the peek hours
As my experience shows: If a player persistently claims that there are no cheaters in the game, then he is 100% a cheater. This statement is the "first line of defense" for cheaters and cheat programmers: disprove any claim that there is a hack.
Some great investigative reporting. Sad to see witness reporting be so faulty, their reaction to the truth clearly shows they are not ready to give up their hysteria. My only surprise is their was no attempt to have the expert ezplain what happened at the containment site. I know NSO cameras can be faulty sometimes...
Hackers in planetside 2 are just on a completely different level. Hackers in others games are using aimbots to get easy kills, meanwhile hackers in planetside 2 are teleporting around in DROPSHIPS just body slamming other aircraft out of the sky, or turning their sunderer into a bayblade.
Play any FPS game long enough and you can sort of tell. It gets fairly obvious when you get dunked on by the same guy a few times and every single time they are more or less breaking the reaction times a human could possibly have, even with latency ClientSide2 taken into account. ..but the average/good aimbots now are so good its impossible to say 100%, even with aim assist and all that junk going they dont snap to people anymore and even if you were to look at a video from their perspective it might look sus but not 100% sus. Kinda have to compare their supposed aim and experience with how they are playing and finding inconsistencies like if you have near mechanical precision aim its kinda weird if you are struggling to 'pick' a target to shoot and keep swapping between them, thats not how a human plays and I mean targets out in the open so there really is no reason to be hopping back and forth between them like 3 times. That might be oddly specific but its just because there is a guy uploading videos that does exactly that sometimes, as if he is fighting against his aimbot on what target to focus on + it looks like he has a industrial vibrator in his mouse when he is shooting people. Oddly enough no one seemed to say anything in their comments, oh well.
@@TheHuffur interresting, thats good to know, but people also can't tell at all in this game. Hackers are not as commen as people calling people hackers, and been called a hacker. Like the amount of times i have been called 1 comepared to how many times i have seen 1. like god damn, just the yell chat.. Each server also had atleast 1 guy who calls everyone a hacker for killing them, Like the now banned account Fedaki(from emerald), hes on a new account after been banned for been toxic. What are the max reaction times for humans? I know the TTK is like below a second in ps2.
I have serious doubts that Aimhacking is common at all. First: it just doesn't work with Bolt actions at long range. Second: You have to spend literal days tweaking the settings to make it not-obvious that you're aim-snapping everywhere. Third: the way MOST bases are designed, you get far more bang for your buck with wall Chams. And last: you get way more plausible deniability with lag switching because the servers ARE old and quite throttled in how high their Interp-Rate can be set.
@@iller3aim correction is not obvious at all. And people using walls are also not “obvious” except for the fact that there are certain Players that always know where I am. Sometimes okay, but I’m using sensorshield so it’s not the minimap that could give me away.
I've been playing planetside 2 for a few days recently, and It is obvious to be that there are a lot of people using hacks but they try to hide it, mostly Wallhack and sometimes even aimbot. As I have noticed most people don't miss a single bullet, and most people know exactly where I am even if I am cloaked and stealthy, they spot me from a fair distance away, sometimes a far distance away.
Thousands who played this game at a high level, even a number of Recursion players... used either Wall-cheats or lagswitching. And if they weren't using those, then they were abusing Adderall in real life. And the sad and lonely part about it, is that the real reason they did it is they didn't want to feel like they were dragging the rest of their outfits down. That's both the greatest strength, AND weakness of this game: It compels people to get on each other's levels and CONSTANTLY be evaluating every stat.
Seriously, I have 4-year experience in this game and I still have no clue how those guys can get every shot on head with a 1x scope attached LMG even when I am cloaking and sprinting...
Muscle memory tbh. I have clips of me beaming Infils cloaked 20 ms away. I feel like after 5000 hours it’s easy to see infils. You just get a feeling where they are at.
@@epicpancho5459yes there are some people like that, but there is enough cases of people using sensor shield and using stalker cloak and then being found and killed sitting in some empty corner somewhere in a base. There is a huge number of people using ESPs. Also aim correction is a big problem.
Fights get so chaotic I don't think an aimbot alone is enough to win a fight. Unless it's very small fight there will be to many people, to many explosives, and to many HESH spammers 3 zip codes away for a cheater to just stop a capture. How do I know this? The number of times I was in fights where someone on the defending faction was shooting us through walls and from underground just for us to still capture the base and move on to the next while he desperately tries to take us all out.
In my 10 years of playing this game the only times I can say I've encountered a blantant hacker were maybe twice. And it was clear as day. Other than that I've never really seen anyone hacking at all. People will shoot around corners, prefiring and such, but that doesn't mean anything in a game where there is 10 different ways of getting spotted. Wow really? I've been playing this game for 3 months and I've seen at least 1 every week. People in spinning Sunderers, Max's moving at light speed round the map and people shooting me through entire bases. Not too mention those who could be using aim/walls as well who could be subtly cheating (hard too tell in this game given the chaos).
Hacking is more common on Asian servers for some reason, in every game. I'm playing on Cobalt, which is the most populated server (at least it used to be idk how it is now). If there are any hackers, they get spam reported into oblivion, and I hardly ever get to see them. That being said, there could be a lot of wallhacks / triggerbot but like Harry said, it's hard to tell.
I play on Miller, and I've been playing (intermittently) since the beta. While I've seen a handful of blatant hackers, I don't actually remember the last time I saw one. Don't think I've seen one this year, actually.
Agree with this comment 100%. I hear that Soltech is worse for hackers but I play on Cobalt and could count the obvious hackers I've seen over the years on one hand. Most of the time it's a skill issue when people call hacks.
my bad internet connection caused some lag and weird stuff, like once I used a teleported from a base to the biolab, once I teleported to the bio lab, props took time to appear including doors so I was able to walk straight to the room, but I wasn't hacking, its just bad connection and weak laptop, my ping can shoot to 20 000 and 40 000, maximum was 140 000
I genuinely don't understand where 'stealth' hackers would fit into the ecosystem. Most Jaeger mains are too autistic to hack, and I've yet to see a person on live who is head and shoulders above the general competitive community? Usually, the guy that you die to instantly is the same guy with literally no life playing four different accounts worth of smurf characters.
Excellent meta commentary making fun of how the 'game is dying because devs didnt do this or that i wanted them to' instead blaming it on salty people and rumors of hacks, lmao.

As long as it's not blatant hacking, i don't really care. Force multipliers are enough to kill most aimbotters imo (though i dont think ive ever met a closet cheater)
This had a higher production value than the last 5 years of Planetside updates.
The "debate" is going on between people who know what legit play looks like, and hackers who try to gaslight people
