My fiancée lives in Daanbantayan and we've been to Malapasqua Island. I've heard a different story concerning the name of Malapasqua. I read it was named by Magellan in 1520 after being stranded there after a typhoon. He may have been better off staying there instead of going to Mactan and his unfortunate meeting with Lapu-Lapu, lol.
