The Russians took a hint from the Camouflage of the Waffen SS, based around it's Oak Leaves pattern, you can still see it's resemblance with today's Flecktarn as well.
Ya bcos the colours they used for this pattern are heavy in contrast and even in distance it doesn't become one colour, which is the case with many of that modern pattern like multicam
For my eyes, this is the best so far. Even when you were moving in some of those shots, you looked like a transparent blob. If someone has this camo on in this type of environment, they might as well be invisible to me.
I think it is due to the high contrast and wide spread of the greens and browns that really break up the bodies outline. Most camo patterns are far too tight and uniform, and completely blur at a distance, at that point you might as well just wear a single flat color. The Russians really nailed it with this one.

I can attest to its effectiveness. I used to be a WWII German Heer reenactor. I have almost stepped on SS reenactors wearing SS Oak fall side while traipsing around the bush.
I have one of those outfits among some others. I spotted you only 4 times and then it was never for sure. I was a sniper, as a Special Forces man, and combat vet, and the Russian Camouflage is the best. In actual combat with troops on the move, they would be "DEAD MEAT" against you. Even a recon team would most likely not see you. Great video.
But "Leto" means in russian "summer". Good camouflage for the leafy forest. My own maskalat is double-sided and the other side is more faded and better for spring and autumn.

@@srddnrsmn7320 I'd rather use multicam in autumn then this partizan camo during the summertime, but in reality for me autumn is the same as summer because I live on the left side of Utah so multicam kind of works all year around but if I were the greens then I'd use Multicam in Autumn and Partizan in summer

I've always loved the Partizan camo, especially the autumn version. Russians along with Brits and Finns are truly the masters of camouflage today. (With Brits i literally only mean Pencott Greenzone- THE best camouflage in the world right now)
Brent, have you ever compiled a list of what patterns are most effective? I’ve watched many of your videos. I was surprised that East German rain pattern seemed to work well in both summer and winter, unlike most patterns.
After spending 25+ years primarily as a camo enthousiast looking for that one pattern, I'm left 2 only 2 camos I would pick in my nerdiest mindset. It's a Dutch DPM and this Partizan pattern. I can only smile and laugh at the effectiveness of the pattern in this video. Pardon my French but it's simply fucking brutal! Not even a hawk could see you. The best armor is to not get seen. Hurah!
this camo when looking for a bushman on video and having one guess where i would shoot everything in between a circle i found you most of the time. That being said if i did not expect anyone there an doing fast scans you would of get me every time so id say it very good pattern. I need some now :)

I'm aware it can't be seen in the video but this pattern has 6 colors on it. Light and dark brown, almost black kinda brownish, green, dark green and specks of light green embedded within brown patterns.
I was really impressed with the effectiveness of this pattern. If I had to chalk it one to one reason, I would have to say it was because of the irregularity of the pattern. it does an excellent job at breaking up your profile, much more so than standard one pattern camo. Thoughts?
A lot of this stuff I don't know much about other than what I read on Camopedia. Many of my viewers know more about some of the patterns and they often comment with that information.

Holy shit wow yeah this one stumped me about 7 to 8 times as a first time viewer that my all time lowest score im usually way better at around 80% accuracy or so per vid i usually miss one or two.

About mid-September, I ordered a Partizan Suit reversible summer and fallpattern from an outfit in Russia called 'Special Russian Shop' (a surplus-type outlet of some sort). Anyway it all looked good and a paypal transaction went thru'... USPS tracking for international parcel & so on... but still tracking shows hung up in Russian Federation??? So not in hands yet... Hard to say true status unfortunately! Curious where you got yours? The reasons I ordered this was to obtain an effective pattern (and reversible during transitions ) for Alaska while; the other was that it was not typical cotton fabric favoring synthetic for the cold or rainy fall conditions. Thanks again.
I ordered it from Russia too. I know its frustrating but you just gotta wait. I've had stuff go outside of the Ebay shipping window and it still ends up arriving. The thing you got to remember is its NOT the Russian vendors fault. They guys have been great for me and have always got their stuff in the mail quickly. Its the system that slows it down. Once it gets to the U.S., the Russian tracking number should work in USPS training too. Usually takes about a month for me to get stuff from there.

somehow it looks like a dark blob on the screen to me. you would not see it if you were not paying attention but the moment you do you see it. Unless you got a bush in front to break up some of it.

Quick question I'm thinking of doing a Russian Loadout for airsoft but I'm not sure what would be more effective for a woodland environment like the Jungle, or woods should I go with Russian Partizan or Russian Flora
There is a spring version that's mostly greens and a winter/fall version that's mostly browns. They're both great but the Summer version with the yellow is more universal. I find the spring version to be too green, here in the east of the US it's only at it's best in spring, turkey season, especially.
yup. This camouflage pattern is actually called "SS-Leto", with "Leto" being Russian for Summer, and SS... well, we know what SS means... It is based on the Eichenlaubmuster pattern used by those forces. Partizan is actually the name of a uniform style made by SSO that introduced the SS-Leto camouflage pattern (a common misconception, kinda like the UCP and ACU thing), and the modernised version, called Partizan-M uses a direct copy of the German pattern for spring use on one side, and is reversible with the other side having yet another version with different tones of brown for autumn use.

Perfect time of year & lighting conditions for that pattern. Even after I knew where you were it was still difficult to make out your silhouette.

Its a great pattern, I really like it. I think the WWII German Oak style camouflage and coloration is a very effective combo.
There should be a mix with tigerstripe and partizan...IT would be very effective new camouflage pattern.

Partizan is actually the name of a uniform style made by SSO that introduced the SS-Leto camouflage pattern (a common misconception, kinda like the UCP and ACU thing), and the modernised version, called Partizan-M uses a direct copy of the German pattern for spring use on one side, and is reversible with the other side having yet another version with different tones of brown for autumn use.
