Every time I see a Doxa review, there just seems to be too many underwhelming compromises. And then there’s the price, of course. For me, Doxas end up being watches I enjoy seeing in reviews but would never consider buying. Thanks, Rob, and Merry Christmas!!
Tried a couple of different Doxas at an AD. I couldn't convince myself the price is justified (lume, bracelets and especially cheap clasps) so I bought a Seestern. If Doxa don't up the quality I'll stick with it.
I like the look of these a lot and was very excited when they came out. A few months after that, our Watches of Switzerland got them and I got to try one on. James Stacey at Hodinkee had mentioned it being top heavy on his 7"+ wrist, and I hoped it was just him. It was not just him. It is definitely a top heavy watch, and I didn't like it on my 7-1/4" wrist. I wasn't surprised to see you mention it is top heavy. Shame about the clasp, but I guess that's where they save money on what is a less expensive watch than I expected. I agree on getting the ceramic bezel too.
Like many of the comments here, I was seriously considering this, got the Seestern as a tester, thought is was okay (thinner than the Doxa) but like many here, (trying to ignore the ambiguity around components origin) can't get past the clasp, off the shelf, unregulated movement and big pokey arse sticking out of the back of it, lifting it off your wrist. Maybe if Doxa ever had a decent sale, would buy up to $1k.... Thanks for the vid.
It is a beautiful watch no doubt. I don't think the price is really justified, I have 4 watches with that movement (well 3 SW200's and an ETA 2824-2) and although I really like the movement but I spent less than the cost of the Doxa for all four of mine, and other than a slightly smoother seconds hand sweep and being easier to regulate than many movements I think £1600 is a bit rich (especially since it's a clone movement) it is a beautiful watch tho' and if that's not much money for you you should buy one. For those that love it but can't stretch to the asking price there's always the Seestern, you don't get a Swiss movement or Swiss clone of it but you do get Seiko's very capable NH35A. The rest of the watch looks pretty damn close.
Love my newly acquired 300 T in blue I previously acquired a couple of Aliexpres homages and it only convinced me that I would love the original but it was a great idea to see if I really wanted the original I recommend doing the same if you're really interested I dropping the money on a swiss original and yes I will be gifting all but one of the homages this year Thanks for sharing another great video my friend ps the rubber strap they included at no charge to my suprise was amazing Thanks as always Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays 👍
Thanks for showing this watch. There are some really interesting comments here about this v the Seestern - would you consider doing a comparison Rob? And (genuine question) to others that know more than me about Doxa's current approach to watchmaking 🙂 - is there any evidence that this brand uses more imported parts for the head and bracelet compared to others in a similar price range (so they get across the 60% line for Swiss-made with the movement and/or assemble the watches in Switzerland)?
Too many negatives, glad I did not pull the trigger when the titanium special edition was launched. Also whats up with a premium brand not listing details of the movement on their website? The more I hear about Doxa, the less I am inclined to purchase.
The case back compression has no twist as it reaches torque spec resulting in a tighter seal combined with better compressing rubber seal. It's better.
I guess a couple of thoughts, for this money I expect a colour matched date wheel and definitely not a pin and collar bracelet arrangement, and frankly their customer service reputation, for this amount of money, is terrifying. It’s a shame as. I like the style
I love this watch but in my opinion, Doxa should reduce the price of at least 30%. If they can't do this price reduction, we can just wish them good luck with their strategy and bye bye.
Get the seestern . They’re both made in China anyway and both have imported movements. Obviously the sw is better and the Doxa is also original but we are in too deep now with these Chinese copies 👍
True, but nearly everyone sells outsourced watches. With the exception of Rolex, Patek, Vacheron and some small but very high end independent watchmakers.

Yep. Me too. I like the designs but it feels like they should be priced around 500-1000
Agreed or I would already own an Orange Dial 300T
I think Doxa know they have a unique design and history and enough people will be willing to pay the price for that

Just picked up a used one like new. This watch is just so unique, feels like the Seiko MM300 but for Doxa. Love it.

Good to see this review. Love the design but I'll be getting the Seestern as this is way beyond my budget.
My favorite Doxa by a country mile. So sick
i think the 300 and 300T have that doxa vibe.....this one looks like every other diver

The titanium version of the the 600T is a real banger. It's a shame it cost nearly $3K. Might be worth it.
it is nice and good dimensions... wish the bracelet tapered though. The case back is brilliant and thickness is fine.
Merry Christmas Rob!!!
I like the case shape. The titanium model that Time & Tide did has been tempting me.
Too many negatives, glad I did not pull the trigger when the titanium special edition was launched. Also whats up with a premium brand not listing details of the movement on their website? The more I hear about Doxa, the less I am inclined to purchase.
Compare this to the Seestern
lumed date wheel on the Seestern
"14 and 1/2, a little on the thick side" That's what she said! : )
Just inspired me to take another 1/2 link outa my Speedy bracelet!
This one looks like a Seestern, which is thinner, has better lume, has a luminescent date wheel and is not overpriced.
Stamped dive extention? Wow
The case back compression has no twist as it reaches torque spec resulting in a tighter seal combined with better compressing rubber seal. It's better.
I love Doxa, but don't get the 600T. I have a sub 300 and can attest to to poor clasp. Very frustrating at the price point if these...
I guess a couple of thoughts, for this money I expect a colour matched date wheel and definitely not a pin and collar bracelet arrangement, and frankly their customer service reputation, for this amount of money, is terrifying. It’s a shame as. I like the style
Let's do a fight with the seestern version.
I love this watch but in my opinion, Doxa should reduce the price of at least 30%.
If they can't do this price reduction, we can just wish them good luck with their strategy and bye bye.
when compared side by side, you can see the doxa is superior build quality but the price difference is not justified!
100% get the Seestern

1.5k I would expect no cost cutting on the clasp.
The clasp is a deal breaker for me ill get a seestern instead
👀
Too expensive
So it's basically a sh*tter.
Wow, that clasp is so cheap looking. You see better from some AliExpress brands.
Doxa is a gross zombie brand that sells outsourced watches.
True, but nearly everyone sells outsourced watches. With the exception of Rolex, Patek, Vacheron and some small but very high end independent watchmakers.
Lreferisco squale 2002 volte meglio
That clasp is a crime. It looks awful. And yet they make much better a clasp and put in their cheaper sub 200 line. Ridiculous.
