hello, I am going to have this surgery soon.My Dr does not want to do any nerve block for the surgery as he wants to make sure the nerves are working properly afterwards when I wake up. What was your pain level like when you woke up or after your nerve block wore off.I can't find anyone who hasn't been through the transposition without a block. I am 54 so no spring chicken ha ha.
8/24/19....Hi.....I DID Not have a nerve block. I was put asleep. When I woke up I had minimal pain. I was surprised because of the 8 in long opening he had to make to move the nerve. I could move my fingers with no problems. I took a few Tylenol the first 2 days and that was it. I dont like to take opiates... Overall I am glad I had the surgery.
@@moxiex2300 thankyou for the reply. My surgeon is not going to do a nerve block and it had me kind of concerned as to waking up in pain. Most of the videos for the ulnar transposition recovery say they are in alot of pain once the block wore off. I'm glad to hear yours was minimal. Tory
@@moxiex2300 oh ok thanks. The nerve test showed no damage but I still have tingling so I see the doctor Dec 17 to see what they say. Hopefully it will go away eventually. Thanks for the great information 😀
@@sherrycenteno3357 @Sherry Centeno If nerve test was ok, I would not have anything done surgically for now. It could take up to a year you feel normal. You might have twinges or tingling. Good Luck Sherry!
Jeez how many arm surgeries did get in that arm
2 Surgeries
What tests did you have done, mri, ultrasound, e m g/nerve conduction study? How did your arm feel before surgery. Mine feels tight
I had the EMG nerve conduction study. I had numbness on the underside of my forearm and some tightness in my elbow.
@@moxiex2300 it’s looking more and more like I have an ulnar nerve problem. Im going to a neurosurgeon and then to get an e m g/nerve conduction study
@@ErinM-2024 I hope your problem gets solved.
