Sharing good vegan food with family members and friends really is the way to get them to accept veganism a lil more. I made all my Christmas cookies this year vegan and EVERYONE in my family and my boyfriend's family loved them. It made me feel a lot more accepted.

I’ve been vegan for (almost) 2 years now and I still watched all 31 mins of this video. Super helpful to refresh the things I know and learn new things I didn’t! Thanks for the video guys. Totally sharing this along! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Ps: I also had a phase of being the “angry” vegan but you guys helped me see veganism with a new perspective, and since I’ve chilled out more, more people have asked me about it and said they want to reduce if not remove animal products from their lives, so I feel like it definitely helps the movement when we don’t fit the stereotype most people have of vegans! 🙏🏼

    Informative, helpful vid! Thank you!
So as someone who has to avoid Gluten AND Soy AND Nuts/Legumes, my only safe Protein options are: Soy-Free Beyond Meat Products, Soy-Free Chickpea-based Tofu (whenever it's released), Cashews, Chickpeas, Lentils, Seeds, occasional black beans, Jackfruit.
And most fruits, veggies, Rice, Oats, Potatoes, Quinoa. Guess I could try it, hmmmm. 🤔

Another thing to watch out for on labels - “natural flavors”. These often contain animal products. Best bet if possible is to check for vegan symbol on packaging.

Bought the bundle immediately! Love this idea. Thank you for the videos. I've been subscribed for awhile! Research is the way I went to help with my son's severe keratosis pilaris. The more I learned, the more it became Personal for many reasons. I prepared my kitchen, educated myself, gave away a lot of food to friends, downloaded a nutrition app to help, and started two years ago. I truly quit all animal foods cold turkey and have never looked back. I wish I would've known what I know now many years ago. Good luck to all on your journey. Channels like this have truly been "my vegan family"! 💖💖💖

omg. I had no idea about the l cysteine
I have a feeling I’ve purchased bread with this in it as it was never on my radar.
Thanks for the information.. I’ve been vegan for around 9 months and had absolutely no idea that was even a thing.

I was raised vegetarian so the hardest thing for me is giving up cheese. i've been trying to go completely vegan since last May but where I live (South Korea) it's so hard. Most of the substitute don't exist here, some that do are freaking expensive. Eating out vegan in KOrea.. yeah mostly not an option unless you go to a foreign district. It takes way more planning, organization skills and ordering from abroad .. its so tiring at times :(

Great video I love it. There’s also a really good docuseries on Netflix called Rotten. It’s not about veganism but it tells you about the dark side of the food industry (not really gory though) as an example it’s talks about the bad side of honey and it’s effects on bees and the meat industry. I’m not doing it justice but it’s sooo worth the watch.

So I live in Wyoming and people here hunt and farm and ranch and are just VERY protective of their meat. The university is an ag school with an animal science program and a meat lab (where students learn to butcher and such!) as well as an experimental farm. I had gone back to eating meat when I moved here because I faced distaste before I had even arrived! But I decided veganuary was the perfect time to align with my values. I've been vegetarian and have wanted to be vegan for a while. Videos and channels like yours are SUPER helpful and I want to say thank you! Do you have any advice for people in hunting/farming/ranching/rural states like mine where vegans are practically the enemy? I'm very VERY lucky to live in a college town with more options and even a vegetarian restaurant, as well as to be close to a few larger cities but still feel isolated.

Love this - didn't even consider clothing. I ride motorcycle, some of the BEST protection comes from leather. There are a few great alternatives (Kevlar), but good ol' leather .... I can't imagine a ride without.

Thank you for the "you're gonna messed up" part. I've been vegetarian for 8 years and I consider myself as a vegan/plant based* for something like three years, maybe four now. I'm also still recovering from eating disorders, first anorexia and then bulimia. And even tho 99% of the time I eat plant based food, there's still a few days (5, 6 a year) when I binge on dairies. And nonetheless I already hate myself for binging, but knowing that I "break" my plant based diet is even more shameful to me. So hearing this, even if it's no the same context, it kinda helps.
Anyway, thanks again for this message, but also for all of your content. You guys are amazing and I hope you'll keep going this way!
*(I specified plant based, because I'm not completely there yet when it comes to everyday products like cleaning products and such, but it's on a good way!)

You would also be very surprised at how willing (and sometimes excited) a chef is to make you something off menu. I went to a Polish restaurant with a group of friends and ate before I went bc NOTHING on the menu was vegan. I was totally fine with this and ordered a drink when I got there. The waiter actually asked if I was sure I didn’t want food and I said I was vegan. He walked away then came back and said that the chef asked if he could make me a vegan dish. It was a delicious vegan risotto!

    I loved this.
Mainly for one reason: You’re realistic.
I appreciate that you don’t mind if someone needs to take it slow like going meatless Monday’s or vegetarian at first.
Some channels I stopped watching because they seem to look down on that choice.
For them it’s like vegan from day 1. Nothing else!
    I appreciated your view.
I also love your fast food vlogs lol.
It doesn’t help my weight but I was glad to see I can sub black beans for free at Taco Bell.

Excellent video and tips for going vegan. I struggled with not eating cheese and consuming dairy but now I eat vegan cheese which I eat in moderation due to the coconut oil. Being vegan also made me eat more fruit and vegetables which I wasn't eating enough of and consider the health benefits of veganism even though I am now doing it for the animals and the planet.

My boyfriend and now my son are not vegan or even vegetarian. I raised my son vegetarian but now he is 14 and has started eating meat, mostly chicken and fish. I cook vegan at home, so if they want anything not vegan they have to buy it and prepare it themselves. My son and I have a lot of debates about it (all good) but I would never push it on anybody. I just lead by example and share lots of food. Interesting thing is that a friend of ours recently had a heart attack and is interested in vegan food. My boyfriend is also now showing more interest in it too because of that.

    I'd have a question:
Why are vegans opposed to using insects? They are about as complex and as intelligent/sentient as fungi.
There is no reason to be opposed to eating them, quite the opposite: Quite some insects can be used perfectly for a clean, easy protein-source that uses even less water than plants, less space, don't really need light, can be grown septically and without fertilisers and fed with cuttings from, well, everything planty, depending on the exact insect.
It's stupid to ignore such a nice source just because they can move, but eat fungi because they can't move.
Plants react to external stimuli similarly (think about the Mimosa pudica, or the sunflower) but are not considered sentient. Why should insects be?

    • @craiga4215
      @craiga4215 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Plants respond to stimuli. They don't have a central nervous system, they don't have a brain, the can't think or feel pain
