Hey J, would you ever consider doing another course similar to your Mold3D one where you go over the process of character creation but with updated techniques? I would think the introduction of the Knife Brushes and much improved Zremesh for hard surfaces has changed a good deal of the workflow since then. If not a full length tutorial like that, one generally about specifically hard surface armor modeling for characters with the modern Zbrush tools would be appreciated, thanks!
I don’t do much armor but if I do more I’ll be sure to share the techniques

Hey J, I noticed in your video the sphere for the document has a softer shadow. Is this because you have Shadows turned off under the Render/Render Properties? Or do you use Fast rendering mode when sculpting since it also gives a similar effect but changes the material a bit. Just curious!
hey, not sure. if it was the sphere scene, I opened that from lightbox so there may be some scene settings in that. I didn't turn anything on intentionally
Thanks for sharing the setup and not selling it for 30 or 40 dollars. I'm just starting out doing my first character in like 30 years. btw, just a rant to Maxon and Pixollogic, but I do environments mainly and have 3 monitors running and why the actual Bleep don't they make floating menus?

A clear and concise insight into both the Xgen workflow and the haircards workflow would be incredible! Thank you for what you're doing!

@@artofjhill loool it's cool if you don't want to do haircards, they absolutely suck and I acc prefer doing hair with fibremesh I just wish marmoset had a way of rendering fibremesh to look like hair :)

nice, it's certainly beautiful to see but the brightness of the texts is too low it pushes people to force to see better 4k or not it's not good for the eyes, it may not be so bad for you since you wear bezel glasses (which makes the text bigger I guess) it makes the workspace look nice but not optimal for long work which is sculpting
How do I restore the Live Boolean Button? I know where it's located in the Render drop down. I just want to have it as part of the UI.

If using windows there are several alternatives. Epic pen is free for the basic drawing on screen. Another by sysinternals from windows is called zoomitscreenwrite. Epic pen let's you use the ui still during writing. The other basically captures the screen while using it.

No it’s still good. Just make stuff and you’ll get the hang of it

Yea. I’ve noticed they changed some button sizes so things don’t line up the same but I still use this

Hmm. Shouldn’t be because I made it before that and used it in 2021. Not sure what the issue is except maybe a conflict. Just the layout?

I'm on zBrush 2022.0.1. and the config file seems to crash my zbrush. I've uninstalled and reinstalled a few times but I'm not sure how to pinpoint the issue.
hmm not sure. try not to use the config. just use the ui and colors and save your own config?

You need to have keyshot working and open but the latest versions of Zbrush don’t work with bridge anymore. They moved to redshift and removed support for keyshot bridge

You need to set them up or replace the hotkeys.txt with the one from mine in the download

Just kidding, nice tidy UI! Its kind of similar to mine.
Though mine has waaaay more tools, which isn't necessarily good... but yeah, navigating zbrush menus is DEFINITELY worse lol
Yea there is a lot of stuff in ZBrush
zbrush has the worst ui i ever saw lmao most important setup for me (mouse user) was to set a hotkey for zoom to the scrolwheel also assign a shortcut for pan when pressing it...
Mouse? You gotta fix that. Can’t sculpt, draw, or paint with a mouse. Need pressure sensitivity and accuracy
