Water was turned off to the property when we first arrived. How would you choose to handle this situation?

Would up charging them certain percentage be appropriate, if charged by the sqft, I would add a 20% fee for supplying own water.. but my client would have know when they were told the estimate.

Majority of the time I don’t even find out there’s no water until I show up. I’ve made it a habit to just bring a full tank of water on Townhouse jobs. They seem to be the ones that are hit or miss on a viable water source. I deal with a lot of vacant properties so the chance of water being off to the property is higher than you’d normally deal with.

I would just recommend parking a little closer to the job so no car can run over your hoses. tires driving over would cause busted hoses in no time.

The problem with that is I’d be blocking driveways. These townhouse communities are hard for parking without causing some sort of disruption. A truck with a skid would be ideal for a situation like this, my trailer is what gets in the way.

how long is your pressurw hose

I believe it’s 250 feet. I have 3 lengths of hose connected together. The first 50 foot is 2-wire hose, very durable but very heavy. The other two lengths I believe are 100 foot 1 wire hoses.

I would give the neighbor $20 to use their water. Doesn't work all the time but solid advice I got once from a mentor. I'm still new learning everyday

@@I5ZQ8 well I’ll be… I was thinking about when I give them an estimate, one of the questions I would ask would be about water supply. Add a 20% fee “water transport fee” but going to the next door and asking them is a good idea!!! Because then you’re getting a face to face promotion..and when you get done they will see your work and most likely be persuaded to do business when they see their neighbor’s property!!

@@bigdanish I always do the 5 house rule. Go to the neighbors on either side and the 3 in front and just knock and don't sell anything. Give them your buisness card, tell them that's your personal number if they have any questions or concerns... You will be over there making a racket with your machine es for a little bit, if they have any concerns to please give you a call.

I think this is solid advice, never hurts to ask! I’ve had to bum water off the house next door before. I’ve offered to clean their driveway for letting me use their water. Takes an extra 15-20 minutes of work, but it beats having to pack up and go home to get water.

Love the videos. Newbie here, Would you possibly be able to do a video on different setups? From a novice to where you are now? Im assumimg you need about $1k minimum to get started

Sure that’s a great idea! I’ve been trying to think of videos that would offer valuable information, outside of just filming the actual work being done. Thanks for the idea!
