I absolutely love watching Doc Martin an avid watcher never missed an episode. I have to be honest I watched the first part of this with the sound turned off as couldn’t stand to listen to woman warbling. Oh that’s good she has stopped. No not she’s back again. Sound off. She gets a ❌ from me.
Doc Martin is the modern take on Dr. Kildare series that was very popular in the 60ties, but was in black and white. Port Wen’s coastal panoramic scenery is alluring on its own (like in the Poldark also) to viewers everywhere.
Doc Martin really is nothing like Dr. Kildare. Dr. Kildare was a young intern in a hospital just learning to be a doctor, and he was extremely nice and polite. The show was also very serious--straight drama. Never played for laughs at all. I actually much prefer Doc Martin. It's a much more entertaining program than Dr. Kildare, in my opinion.
