A few things about Kayn that the interactions didn’t really touch on or show 1. Kayn actually loves Zed like a father and was given a chance to betray him in the comic and take his place but stayed by his side 2. The reason Kayn respects Shen so much is because Shen and Zed both were raised by the same master in the kinkou order and have a very brotherly relationship even if they’re on opposing sides 3. The shadow assassin isn’t as much the fusion of Kayn and Rhaast but more of Kayn overpowering Rhaast with his shadow magic and taking control of all of his power. If you end up reading this I hope it clears up a bit. I love this character he was actually my first character that I ever learned when I started playing the game and is my most played character to date 😁
For what it is worth, Kayn is canonically an orphan (as are all the child soldiers involved in that system). Also the voices are part of an in game thing, where Kayn wins you get the Shadow Assassin, where Rhaast wins you get well Rhaast, and before that you get the mixed lines. As for how it works in game, killing ranged attackers makes Kayn stronger, killing melee makes Rhaast stronger.
For closing the darkin reactions I'd recommend reading the wiki article "Darkins", there you will see all the other darkin that LoR added and the lore behind them. Apparently Aatrox was a general to the darkin. Also, Ionia still stands is a cool video from Shambits gaming that talks about all different temples in Ionia

18:50 they have a lore for Rhaast but they kind of hold it. Maybe they revealed what kind of Ascended they were in the past or some shit because reasons like a potential skin with an element of surpise lol
Lots of fun details here: -Rhaast's voice actor also plays Aurelion Sol -The Forsaken Baccai card at 22:22 was friends with Rhaast before the two ascended, though while Rhaast became a true Ascended, the he became a Baccai, a weaker, incomplete version of a god-warrior -The Darkin at 23:35 is named Taarosh and he seems to have possessed a Camavoran Dragon on the Shadow Isles -With all the new Darkin cards in LoR that have taken over their hosts already, my headcanon is that Rhaast is one of the weaker Darkin, at least when it comes to blood magic, so I like to think his personality stems from him being clowned on by the others back in the day - Kayn's followers in LoR show other members of the Shadow Order, one of which was another Noxian Defector - Rhaast is also mentioned in the story "Twilight of the Gods," which I highly recommend checking out for more lore from the end of the Darkin War
I just think they're not much into hemomancy until their imprisonment because Aatrox came with that problem. Hemomancy and morphing their flesh into armor is just one of what they learned in studying forbidden sorceries and they mastered primal magics so The problem with Rhaast is just I think he's really twisted he just likes killing and want domination and having the thrill of Kayn killing some too. Yeah I agree with him being clowned but I think they respect him too when Ta'anari killed the one who Rhaast wanted to kill
There's something that happen with Rhaast. When he's talking to someone and telling them "you're worthy" or "only the worthy can handle me" and stuff, he's actually manipulating people with big ego like Kayn, basically saying only super special people can wield me so if you can wield me you're super special buddy! So Rhaast would try anything to manipulate someone to make them his wielder, though that doesn't mean he doesn'r have standars haha obviously Rhaast saw something important in Kayn in particular
36:24 that is actually exactly how he plays. Though the game doesn't force it, you can wait a certain time and just choose a side, but you can "evolve" him early by getting kills a certain way, one way he masters the Darkin and becomes the blue shadow assassin which is Kayn in control. The other way he becomes the red version where Rhaast takes over. You can not switch after though implying that one way or the other the outcome is permanent.
Varus will recive updated voicelines soon and he have great ones in lor. Also recomed to watch lor interaction of darkins they give a lot of info about them, and their relations.
You might've skipped over some voicelines that shows how the Shadow Assassin version of Kayn kinda misses Rhaast's company, because in his usual form they would usually banter and you would always expect Rhaast to have some sort of comeback. But in the Shadow Assassin form he's not there anymore and Kayn has a voiceline where he forgot about it and expected some kind of response from Rhaast.
Most of those voicelines where Kayn is like ''yo where tf is Rhaast?'' is in the Odyssey Skin voices. Many here hope she will react to it, but I know she's extra busy so I don't really expect it xD
btw the reason why there isn't really much written down about Kayn's shadow assassin and Rhaast forms is cause' those aren't actually canon since Kayn hasn't gone through any transformation yet in the lore. He only transforms in game as a really cool mechanic though in lore we don't actually know who wins between the two or if it's even possible for Kayn to win at all

Was looking through the comments as I wanted to see if anyone else noticed it or if I just pay too much attention. When we looked at the site after the story, on the site it mentions that he believes he can beat zed but will not challenge him out of respect. I am saying this as there was a point when Georgie was talking about how she feels Kayn has no attachment to Zed in the traditional regards.

Yeah, in-game he sounds like a bad guy because he fights enemies non-stop. But in lore his character only wants to protect the land/people that rescued him from the cruel hands of the Noxus military. One of his quotes describes this pretty well : ''The true assassin kills one to save many''. Also the fact that his will alone is making it so Rhaast isn't allowed to try and end the whole World lol. 🤣
First video of yours that I've watched, and I have to say it's been wonderful to have a reactor read up and learn about a champion to truly grasp their voice lines and design choices. A few current reactors that watch these clips don't take the time to learn about the champions and make terrible guesses or dislike certain things about the champion's voice lines when they don't understand them in context. Ahhh, hello my main and my pain by the name of Kayn. (even if I actually main only Rhaast, whoops) Honestly, I absolutely love his relationship with Rhaast and actually glad that there is no "right ending" for any of them. Because whole point of their characters - of being together, in constant struggle against each other. And if we lose one...well, don't even want to think about this scenario...scenarios? You should definetly check out their voice lines in Odyssey. It's a legendary skin which looks absolutely fantastic and got one major plot twist for whole multiverse. (I feel really bad for Kayn in there when he takes over, ouch, but not spoiling anything) + Odyssey them being announcers (Rhaasty boy is really talkative)

If you like kayn and rhaast banter i see other people recommended it but i will also highly recommend the voice lines for kayn's odyssey skin! In general i'd recommend reading about the Odyssey universe on the LoL universe website. Kayn is my favorite champion in League! However his Legends of Runeterra counterpart is probably, imo, the most disappointing champ of all. He is technically a ninja but has 0 interactions with Zed, or even Shen (especially after the comic series). His Lore in LoR is barely anything. Mostly hypothetical, because of his 2 forms. Also is way more focused on Rhaast side. His Level up animation is not it..

The darkin expansion in LoR actually gave a pretty good amount of new lore for all darkin-related characters. I suggest you react to a video explaining the darkin expansion lore
Worth noting if the enemy team doesn't have a lot of ranged attackers then you have really no need to build assassin to one shot them, if you're going into a melee heavy battle then taking Rhaast is way more beneficial to you as you can fight them better.

Aatrox was the general of the Ascended, Xolaani is the one who turned them all into Darkin. I believe Rhaast & Varus were Aatrox's 2nd & 3rd in command respectively.

If i were to give a suggestion then you should react to the odyssey skinline history. They actually got a really funny animation (With Jinx btw) and got the whole story of the skinline, that is actually interesting because its linked to the dark star universe. And of course im suggesting it because the odyssey Kayn special interactions that i really recommend. This could be a bit bias cause im a Kayn main but in my opinion odyssey Kayn has the funniest special interactions from all league of legends.
Fake News, Aatrox has never taken the body of any minimally relevant or well-known warrior, Kayn on the other hand, is a great ninja prodigy in the use of forbidden shadow magic, and if Rhaast managed to take his body, he would have an almost perfect host.

If i were to give a suggestion then you should react to the odyssey skinline history. They actually got a really funny animation (With Jinx btw) and got the whole story of the skinline, that is actually interesting because its linked to the dark star universe. And of course im suggesting it because the odyssey Kayn special interactions that i really recommend. This could be a bit bias cause im a Kayn main but in my opinion odyssey Kayn has the funniest special interactions from all league of legends.
Dark Star and Odyssey are pretty much the beginning of the multiverse in League. Iirc Rhaast is basically a gateway

Fun fact: Rhaast is the weakest darkin. It took a long while to take Kayn's body while Aatrox can take anyone's body at will
