  • In this the latest blog, I make a fleeting 6 hour visit to the Fanad Peninsula in County Donegal Ireland, to blow away the cobwebs and to get the creative juices flowing.
A spectacular part of Ireland, the Fanad Peninsula is a photographic playground, and over the years I have captured images here that have appeared all around the world.
The jewel in the crown of this area is of course the majestic Fanad Lighthouse, a place I never tire of photographing.
Before I am asked, in the final image, I used the radial filter to switch on the light :)
    Hope you enjoy.

I very much enjoyed your TH-cam film. Thank you for posting it. My husband and I are planning a trip to Ireland in oktober. As we will be a month in Ireland, I would very much like to photograph scenic locations. Ireland's coast line is simply stunning judging your beautiful photographs. I wil make a note of your tips. Best wishes from the Netherlands.

I'm the same with flotsam and that horrid white brown foam swirling in rivers, it breaks the purity of the image somehow. You finally got your shot with the light on 😊

Flotsam = Sea snot in my book, horrible. Take care Iain over the Christmas break, hoping you have got out with the camera.

@@PeterMcCabePhoto Most of the white brown foam on our local rivers is agricultural run off. Cow shed slurry, stinks as well.
Its been pretty dreich all autumn and winter so far. We did get a massive cloud inversion across much of central Scotland on Saturday so I was running around like a mad thing trying to cover as much as I could.

Peter, it was well worth the 'fleeting' trip to Fanad and for that last light and first light👍 It is a beautiful spot and it looked like you had a great day. Always love those views over to Dunaff Head and the Urris Hills on Inishowen. Always great to hear your thought processes as you work out your shot. Have a great Christmas🎄😊

Hi Gerry. Great to hear from you, anytime in Donegal is good in my books, thought as I have said before I need to get into the Donegal Hills and of the coast. You never know, one day I may bump into you up there. Have a wonderful Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

Peter, I need to get off the hills and to the coast, so we might never bump into each other😊
