I got the Boomba valve for my Fiesta ST..had it on for a while and got sick of it always going off..after two days of it off I put it back on..its fun and addicting! Mine is staying on.
You guys are so ignorant! This is one of many things on why the world can't have nice things. Love it or hate it, you don't have to be rude about it. Btw it sounds good Matt!
I dunno what the hate's for. It's a blow off valve, sounds cool. I like it, and if people tell you "it's not an import, take it off" they're fuckin dumb. Any car can have a bov noise as long as it has a turbo on it. Ford decided to down the small displacement big turbo road, so tell them to stop making the mustang.
I've had three on my eco boost and in the 2.0l you can actually loose some spool with the attachable ones. You want one with a spring . The 3rd gen 2.0l and the 2.3ls are notorious for loosing boost with the attachable boomba. They sound awsome tho .
why do we all have to hate... not talking about people sharing their opinions on the bov adapter but i see people commenting shit saying mustang owners are dipshits and stuff like that. any car owner can be a dipshit and any car owner can be real but i wouldnt even classify myself as a car owner because im an enthusiast. And the people who say they are enthusiasts but talk shit about others peoples cars or anything like just shows how fake they are, i used to be that way then realized everyone has a different taste and if someone wants to go all fast and furious on their car then go ahead or make a lowrider then go for it. there are alot of different styles out there and as REAL car enthusiasts we need to learn to appreciate everyones taste and come together as car enthusiasts and enjoy our vehicles. im just tired of all the hate.
Good for you, I installed one in my car, but my car shuts toff the DV way early so on each blow off, the sound would get abruptly cut off before even having a chance to change pitch, which sound really stupid. If any of you want to a get a adaptor instead of a proper BOV, check to make sure your DV doesn't close earlier than normal.
So I just did this for my 15 ecoboost… it didn’t sound like yours at all like the air being released, it just made the turbo stutter louder. Did I do something wrong or?
Hey Matt Same exact mod many vw drivers steered away from. Ur pierburg diverted valve we basically have too. For us it causes air to run lean a bit. Also a bit of throttle response decrease. Hope ur experience is different. The length of the sound being blow off is too long.
I know im years late but I just installed this on my mustang and the fuel system turned lean along with vacuum leaks. very unfortunate for my ecoboost and I was not so happy with my boomba product.
Does it do anything for performance? Or is it just basically for the sound? I don't really think it sounds too bad from that sample, but I can see it getting real annoying real quick.
So, this is probably a stupid question, but I can’t find the answer anywhere. How are you getting the turbo sound while in park/neutral? I watch all these videos of people revving and getting that sweet turbo sound, but mine makes no turbo noise while free revving
you should put the boomba stick on somewhere under the hood in the engine bay area, just slap it on something made of plastic, keeps the car looking clean on the outside but then you can show it off when you pop the hood
That is, basically, the equivalent, to the blow off plate, from mopar. I had one on my Caliber SRT4. It's basically just a noise maker lol. It sounded the same as yours too. Always venting. What you need to do is, get an intake, so you can hear the turbo spool more. It will make the bov sound better with a louder turbo spool, IMO.
Holy shit all these people saying it sounds like a truck I was assuming they were exaggerating but it really does! Not gonna lie man that thing sounds pretty bad I mean I wouldn't mind a mustang with some turbo noise just not this particular noise lol
I really like the idea of this part and it's rad Boomba sent you one. I just don't like the ford's bov sound. If only it was a quicker pshhh sound rather than pssssssss
Agreed. If no one likes it, I just don't understand why people that dislike these videos stay on and insult everyone. Like seriously, grow up and close the video!
ThatGamingMustang Well a lot of the people posting negative comments in this particular video are just expressing their opinion about the sound (Matt asked people what they thought of the noise). Most people on here are supporters of wrxfan not like some videos that just have a lot of "haters"
hey man. So im getting a 2015 ecoboost. I was really thinking about getting this spacer for it, but heard that they caused boost leaks. Have you had any problems with yours?
I like it. I would keep it on, it makes the car sound like a turbocharged car like it is and maybe if you want find a different one later that is adjustable(unless you're cheap).
Do you still have this on? If not, how long did you have it on far, and did it cause any issues down the line? Considering the Steeda version for mine!
I definitely think that you should have a blow off valve with the mustang but that one is very obnoxious, the ventilation is too loud at least for me it is. So I would look into getting another blow valve that would be a little quieter and produce a different ventilation sound. Cause that one isn't my favorite. But that's just what I would do.
Hey Matt- Seems to sound way better from the inside as opposed to the outside. Tricky decision, might be a good way to go in conjunction with an exhaust. Always a big fan of the How-to videos. Mods are always interesting :) -JB
I feel like if you got an exhaust system the two sound together would combine to sound cool. Alone i think its weird to see a mustang and then hear a blow-off value. But i think the sound is interesting at the same time, also interesting to see how the mustang is changing and seeing how people are reacting to it. My personal opinion is: the ecoboost is new to the mustang and of course with ford putting it in a very iconic car there will be a lot of hate from everyone whether they like mustangs or not. At first it will be criticized then hopefully become excepted in the car community. How long will that take? Hopefully not long.
It looks like the ford 2.3L is MUCH different than the Focus which is off of the turbo directly. this is probably due to it not being a borg warner turbo. So this means that someone just needs to develop an adapter for a TIAL or HKS SSQV and source the vacuum line from the sound maker like we do on the focus since those two BOV are not electrically operated like this one but vacuum.
I have a C&L BPV on my 16 mustang and love it. Mines an automatic though so you don't hear it when the car shifts like in the manual. It doesn't blow off until a little below 3k RPM. I think it doesn't fit his mustang because of how it looks, those rims don't look all that good. I have a Magnetic grey mustang with the 19x9 inch rims that I plasti dipped black and I think it fits my car pretty well. I turn heads whenever I pull up to a car meet. It all depends on the car.
Sounds like a turbo and air pressure being released. Not sure what everyone is bitching about in the comments. Sounds completely fine to me (turbo owner). Guess it's a love it or hate it type thing.
I like the idea of embracing the fact that it's a turbo motor by accentuating it with a blow off valve. I don't really know much beyond video games and youtube vids but I think it sounds fine compared to others I've heard. If it makes your driving experience more enjoyable then I think you should keep it. Sounds like you don't really like it though haha, either way, thanks for sharing
Personally, I think it sounds off because there isn't enough turbo/exhaust/engine noise. In regards to mods for the eco-boost mustang, you should look into a COBB stage one package and maybe a turbo-back exhaust (if you don't mind a bit of noise from it). Love the vids, keep up the good work :)
Lol so wrong on a mustang but so fun. I've always wanted to experience having a blow off valve but sadly my WRX doesn't respond well to them stock. They do seem like something I would only keep temporarily, but you have to admit they are fun.
It would help if the turbo didn't spool up so fast, but it does. Hard to stay out of boost. If i had a bigger turbo I wouldnt mind. So yeah, 50/50 the way to go
The Sounds its not that bad but another brand of Bov should sounds better maybe HKS or GFB i have one on my Wrx and the sound its lovely :) , overall good video Matt !!!
Yeah, I have one of those on my SRT. They don't sound as good as a real BOV, but they add some turbo character to it. Friend gave it to me, so for free I can't really bitch.
This does not sound like mine at all. I'm not sure if it's your Mic or if they've tightened or loosened the air slots but mine sounds a lot more mean. Yours sounds like I'm sorry to say but a big throttley truck. Maybe it's the exhaust change from yours to my 18
I got the Boomba valve for my Fiesta ST..had it on for a while and got sick of it always going off..after two days of it off I put it back on..its fun and addicting! Mine is staying on.
You guys are so ignorant! This is one of many things on why the world can't have nice things. Love it or hate it, you don't have to be rude about it. Btw it sounds good Matt!
ThatGamingMustang jealousy a bitch bro
Well it’s there money
I was smiling just like that when I installed my blow off valve adapter :)
Sounds like the air brakes of an NYC MTA bus.
I have the Boomba BOV adapter on my 1.6L ecoboost and your review is spot on! Couldn't have said it better myself. Great informative vid.
That noise sounds so weird coming from under the hood of a mustang
I know,right.
Sounds like a huge truck... not a big fan of it, Matt.
Abednego Tamba Hah, thought the same. Doesn't sound right. Part might need a design tweak.
Wow I didn't know that Ford made a semi truck
Hahaha
kidyoureasquid they did!
they actually do lol
Idk why so many people are commenting negative stuff. But it sounds great for that price. So I like it 👍👍👍
I've had three on my eco boost and in the 2.0l you can actually loose some spool with the attachable ones. You want one with a spring . The 3rd gen 2.0l and the 2.3ls are notorious for loosing boost with the attachable boomba. They sound awsome tho .
Got one on the fiesta ST - the videos don’t do them justice. These things sound so good.
God that Blow Off Valve sounds terrible.
Agreed
BCJDM shockingly bad.
worst blow off valve sound ever and he acts like he's driving a supercar
u guys sound very jealous
sounds amazing
Its obnoxious... Like my flowmaster outlaw mufflers. So i luv it.
It seems like something I would take off but then miss after awhile.
why do we all have to hate... not talking about people sharing their opinions on the bov adapter but i see people commenting shit saying mustang owners are dipshits and stuff like that. any car owner can be a dipshit and any car owner can be real but i wouldnt even classify myself as a car owner because im an enthusiast. Patrick Bock I agree enthusiasts see potential in all cars
It's a new era of cars, I love it and might do it on mine
That sounds soo awesome that was well worth spent
COOL Boomba Racing Blow-Off Valve Adapter Review and Install
I have Boomba's bov on my Focus ST. I love it I also have their shifter bushings, rear engine mount and shift knob. They really make good products.
Wow dude she sounds so sick and awsome yeah she sounds a lot better great job man!!
lmfao..."subaruwrxfan" yet here we are with an Ecoboost Mustang. I had respect for this guy.
I like it... If it's going to be turbo, why not? It will sound better with exhaust too! 👍

Does it do anything for performance? Or is it just basically for the sound? I don't really think it sounds too bad from that sample, but I can see it getting real annoying real quick.
Blow of valves are just louder recirculation valves without the benefit of putting the air back into the system?
So, this is probably a stupid question, but I can’t find the answer anywhere. How are you getting the turbo sound while in park/neutral? I watch all these videos of people revving and getting that sweet turbo sound, but mine makes no turbo noise while free revving
Blow off valve on a mustang! Never tought I would live to see the day...
you should put the boomba stick on somewhere under the hood in the engine bay area, just slap it on something made of plastic, keeps the car looking clean on the outside but then you can show it off when you pop the hood
Awesome part, you gotta keep it on man!
That is, basically, the equivalent, to the blow off plate, from mopar. I had one on my Caliber SRT4. It's basically just a noise maker lol. It sounded the same as yours too. Always venting. Snap-On ratchet, dayum Matt's ballin.
AnotherSiGuy He actually is lol, I had to buy a breaker bar like that for my brakes 55 buck not cheap.
SuperWesty177 The one he's using is like $150, that's how much I spent on my floor jack lol.
AnotherSiGuy I spent 60 NZD on my floor jack. I thought you where taking the piss above :P
AnotherSiGuy hahaha
AnotherSiGuy a 6 piece Allen key socket set is $250.
All these negative comments... Do what you feel suits you Matt! Love your car!
Do you know if getting one of those adaptors for chevy sliverado 2.7t engine messes with the engine or is it safe as well?
Does that affect warranties with companies?
I did the exact same installation.... worth it!
Hey Matt, do you miss any of your old cars why or why not?
How many miles on the Mustang now?
Congrats on the engagement!
no engine light error apeared on your dash board?
I really like the idea of this part and it's rad Boomba sent you one. I just don't like the ford's bov sound. If only it was a quicker pshhh sound rather than pssssssss
Do you lose and power or does it do any damage to the car??
All the comments are negative
Imports its people’s opinions. Not all things are good opinions
hey man. So im getting a 2015 ecoboost. I was really thinking about getting this spacer for it, but heard that they caused boost leaks. Have you had any problems with yours?
I'm not really a fan of BOVs on evos, but hope you can find a deep-sounding exhaust
Did you keep it?
the c&l blow off valve is not as obnoxious and is pretty sharp and sexy than this one , they look pretty much the same though idk whats different
What one would you recommend for a 3.7L
next, you should upgrade the turbo and get an external wastegate thats open for that japanese tuner car feel and sound.
I like your name
Does it void warranty?
I like it. I would keep it on, it makes the car sound like a turbocharged car like it is and maybe if you want find a different one later that is adjustable(unless you're cheap).
think it would sound better with an exhaust and intake

will you ever add an after market exhaust??
Hey Matt- Seems to sound way better from the inside as opposed to the outside. Tricky decision, might be a good way to go in conjunction with an exhaust. Always a big fan of the How-to videos. Mods are always interesting :)
-JB
I agree with what you said. I would keep it only if it activated when releasing the gas at a higher RPM. IMO take it off. Cheers
That's pretty cool i just wish they where more whistle like but hey still a good product
Sounds like the deepest wrx I’ve ever heard in my life
Does it work with a Roush tune and cold air intake?
I feel like if you got an exhaust system the two sound together would combine to sound cool. Alone i think its weird to see a mustang and then hear a blow-off value. But i think the sound is interesting at the same time, also interesting to see how the mustang is changing and seeing how people are reacting to it. Daniel Reid muffler delete doesn't sound bad at all for ecoboost mustang.
Get yourself a 3/8 flex extension, great for tight areas
can that be done to other mustangs?
Probably better in a focus or a Fiesta mainly because I'm still not used to a 4 cyl Mustang yet lol
Sounds a little weird, I feel like it needs a more composed sounding BOV

Lol turn heads in an Ecoboost. I think your mistaking why they are turning their heads.
Kinda sounds like air brakes on a semi truck releasing air pressure...
Sounds like a turbo and air pressure being released. Not sure what everyone is bitching about in the comments.
Sounds completely fine to me (turbo owner). Guess it's a love it or hate it type thing.
subaruwrxfan did you get the throttle body spacer or intake manifold spacer from Boomba?
I Don’t Know why people are crying about but it sounds cool
if you would change the intake of your turbo it would sound much better than setting a blow of valve.
Doesn't really sound like a legit bov imo. If the car was mine, I'd probably keep the boomba thing until I could get a legit bov.
Isn't that just a fancy spacer with holes?
Louder exhaust and an intake with some proper spooling sound and this bov wouldnt sound bad.
You are officially a lorry driver now lol.
I like how you have that rim in your room:D
I have the Boomba BOV on my Focus ST and it sounds waaaaay better than this. This one sounds weird and muffled. Glad you decided to remove it Matt
Lol so wrong on a mustang but so fun. I've always wanted to experience having a blow off valve but sadly my WRX doesn't respond well to them stock. They do seem like something I would only keep temporarily, but you have to admit they are fun.
It's obvious you don't like this BOV adapter that sounds like a bus/semi. Please let me know when you review another one.
Why didnt you just use normal allen keys, much easier than use a socket wrench extension
It would help if the turbo didn't spool up so fast, but it does. Hard to stay out of boost. If i had a bigger turbo I wouldnt mind. So yeah, 50/50 the way to go
not sure if you said this but how much did that cost?
dramabeatz33 whoops nvm you said 65
Texas City close enough
65 bucks
I think it sounds like a bov, and I like it!!
No wonder why they sent you one!!!
The Sounds its not that bad but another brand of Bov should sounds better maybe HKS or GFB i have one on my Wrx and the sound its lovely :) , overall good video Matt !!!
sounds cool to me I love BOV sounds
It's sound sick 😝 I need it bad
Yeah, it doesn't sound to good. It actually sounds like that audio speaker blow off valve thing the MCM guys installed on their civic LOL.
you need to testdrive the rs4 or rs5... to balance out the m3 testdrives!
also new volvo s60 t6 inline 4 with 306hp!
You really need an exhaust to balance out the noise. The blow off noise alone sounds annoying but an exhaust would compliment the sound.
I think an air intake would work wonders for this thing!
Will this work for the 2016 ?
yes
I think you should take it off. And the bypass valve. Because turbo flutter.
Boosted. No. Just no.
