@@christianindividual4550 Because I'd argue the two biggest fanbases in the world are Madrid and Man U fans. A huge number of them wouldn't admit Messi is the best ever and not CR7 (who is in his own right a football legend, a titan).
As far as trophies though, he's won everything he can win except a WC, and it'd be petty to not see him as the best ever JUST because of that. Worst of all is even if he hasn't won it, he still got to a final and has won Player of the Tournament in every single competition he's every played in including the WC.
I guarantee you though that even if Messi somehow did win the WC in Qatar, there'd still be people who deny him being the greatest ever. Emotions get in the way. I think Messi still has the most team trophies ever won by any single player anyway (aside from Dani Alves...but nobody calls him the GOAT because team trophies are not the responsibility of a single player). I think he also has the most individual trophies ever including Ballon D'Or and Golden Boot.
There's absolutely no argument against Messi being the GOAT, at this point anyone denying it either doesn't understand the importance of being this versatile and being so complete, or is like I said are letting their emotions get in their way.
And consider that we aren't even discussing the tactical advantages Messi gives his teams, which are the things most fans don't see...meaning off the ball movement, meaning how many people they dedicate to marking a specific player, opening up spaces for others, meaning heat maps and how that moves opposing players around, and how many zones of the pitch he can influence...there's no one that has ever matched him at all that either.

Playing with Messi must be such a delight. His assisting has made so many players look even better than they were. Players like Bojan and Tello for example profited so much from the way Messi would assist them.
A whole defence would tunnel vision on Messi. He's on the ball, what will he do? Is he going to attempt to dribble through us? Go left? Right? Shoot? Give a pass? Turn around? Slow down the tempo? Accelerate? Link up with someone and do a 1-2? It's really unpredictable what would happen with Messi on the ball. He's so insanely hard to defend because of how many options he has.
With a whole defence focussed on him and him giving a crisp pass at the exact right time, with the exact right speed, into the exact right pocket of space, forcing a teammate to run for it. That would give his teammate so much space and relatively a lot time to make a decision. He'd create time and space for his teammates and that would make them look even better because they'd have opportunities they wouldn't get with other players assisting them. Messi would also find them a lot more than any other player. Also merely due to the sheer amount of Messi attempted assists and the amount of the assists actually reaching a teammate, it would just give them so many chances.

@@Musicienne-DAB1995 I mean the other players are running, Messi has to pass in front of them so it gets to their legs. He also puts a spin on the ball so the receiver of the pass can receive it more easily (see : Messi's assist to Di Maria).
This is why I choose Messi a thousand times over Ronaldo. Yes Ronaldo is great, a great goalscorer. But Messi is a complete package. He lifts the whole team up every time he plays.

Hey many will underrate that second assist but Messi is so clever to realize that once the defender is back turned and running that way then he has no chance really of getting the ball. It’s like when the keeper gets faked in a penalty situation and he starts moving to one side, almost impossible for him to recover and save it on the other side even if it’s just gently rolled.
