Alright let me break down Bass. The real Bass is the exact same Bass across all games. the main reason that this is still the same Bass is because the get ability technique Bass has could not be passed on to the clones. The main reason for Gospel's existence was so Wily could create a Bass clone with the same potential as the real Bass to free alpha. Due to all of the Bass copies being a failure Wily had to strike a deal with the real Bass who could free Alpha. After you fight Bass GS in 3. What he was actually doing was expelling Gospel from his body, remember he only used the power of gospel to heal his wounds just as Serenade stated. Once he realized that gospel was of no use he got rid of it hence Gospel's remains ending up as a giga chip in BN5. However Bass was not fully healed when he expelled Gospel which cause serious defects in his programming and causing him to lose a lot of his original battle data. As a result Bass fled back to the undernet tanted by darkness to heal his wounds, however during that process his auto recovery system had to re-write or rather recreate a lot of his programing which as a result leaves him with a whole new move set. That theory is actually a lot more viable because the strongest forms of Bass in BN4 and BN5 both use what is known as the black barrier which also regenerates like life aura did. As far as the whole not remembering encounters with Megaman. You have to remember that all secret encounters are considered non-canon. Remember you can fight him in BN2 and not only does he not remember, but Megaman didn't even remember bass after the fact he fought a clone lol. Also the dark chips in BN6 are still dark chips, they simply use bug fragments to power up for use because the influence of Nebula is gone. Without nebula grey to infuse literal dark souls into battle chips, the remaining dark chips on the net need a new power source. Bug frag are considered evil junk data so it makes sense that bug frag would power those chips, hence them all beimg the same Bass.
@@littlemisseevee2309 yes but depending on the game bug data is also the same as evil energy. Or atleast the 2 are used interchangeably. In 2,3, and 6. Bug frags are just treated as bug frags with the exception to gregar itself which is implied to also be like primal evil. As it also has the power to create evil spirits. And when you defeat the cybeast and go the the graveyard area you get an email from Duo stating that you defeated a great evil. In battle network 4 and 5 the is actually more emphasis on bugfrags being actual evil data. In BN4 Bug Charge/Chain of Bug depending on your version are one of the 5 evil chips needed to go to black earth area. Same for BN5. You even need to have an evil soul to even use those chips I believe in those games or they fail.
You confused "dark chips" with "evil chips". The Nebula variety of dark chips are gone after the events of BN5. But "evil chips" such as Static still remain. It's understandable to be confused, since the "evil" chips were called "dark" chips in BN3, and required a hole to be used. They could still be used if a hole was present in bn4, but the only way for a non-dark Megaman to set a hole in bn4 was to use a vdoll. Holes were gone in bn5, so this exploit could no longer be used. I would personally stick with the hole mechanic from bn3, it was said to draw from the power of Murkland, but was not inherently evil in and of itself (since Serenade also required a hole)
@SaturnineXTS evil and dark are basically synonymous with each other within the context of the series. After all, the Nebula Gray area is called murkland by the gold program that guards the entrance to the Nebula area. As a matter of fact, the full name of the Nebula Area secret area is called the Murland: Nebula area. Higsby also states that using dark chips corrupts a navi's soul and pulls them into murkland. Hence, when you go to black Earth in Megaman BN4, you encounter black navis. Those are the navis who were drawn into murkland by the power of dark chips. Dark chips are also made from Nebula Gray, which is literally man's evil soul digitized. They are a type of evil chips made from digitized evil human soul data.
So, Gregar and Gospel aren’t the same organism. They expressly state this in BN6. Also technically Falzar is different since its not made of bugs, and Gregar is the “more canon” story of BN6, in which Bass absorbs Falzar. (basing this on the manga, since in the manga, he becomes F Beast Bass, to fight equally against G Beast Rockman/Megaman.)
derp. Falzar is different power set wise from Gospel and Gregar, since it isn’t made of bugs* Also in both BN6 games, base makes you fight your beast form and then himself with a cybeast absorbed….
Also Bass never fought the life virus. If you go back and play BN1 during the end game. You get this email where someone leaked that a navi snuck in and stole a copy of the life virus' defense system. This is later confirmed in BN2 where it is stated in the undernet board that a hooded navi went in undetected and stole the data for the life aura.
Also the real Bass has two encounters in BN5 as long as you have Bass cross mode enabled. chaos Lord was able to copy Bass' form because the real Bass had actually been hiding in the nebula area. Nebula area 4 to be exact, however that is only known if you have Bass Cross.
he also was a story boss in bn3 fought just before alpha. also the one fought in bn2s story was a clone that ended up mutating into gospel. in bn3 you fight bass twice in the story: one where you're expected to lose (showing up just after flamman.exe, outright akuma'ing him) and the other the aforementioned penultimate boss. in both cases in bn3, that's the real bass. and that's the only time where the real bass was a story boss you were expected to win.
If you turn on Bass Cross Code in MMBN5 you can actually fight the 'real' Bass. The original japanese game supported E-reader cards for the GBA, something we didn't have back then in the west. So we couldn't have the full game before MMBN5DTDS where you could use your GBA game (with a Bass Icon save) in the DS game to unlock Bass Cross legit. Here we can get 2 specials encounter with Bass as well as the REAL end boss of MMBN5 which is BassDS or BassXX (same thing just a different name). Basically meaning Bass Dark Soul. The game also follow a bit of the Rockman.EXE movie and Rockman.exe Stream plot points like bass absorbing Nebula Grey power to defeat Slur... The moveset of BassDS are the same as Chaos Lord plus Speed, BlackBarrier, AttackSpeed, AttackPower and he as 4000HP like Nebula Gray Omega. He is also purple teinted.
It's an interesting theory, one thing that I don't think is quite right is that Gospel and Gregar are not the same thing, even though their appearance is slightly similar. Gospel was a culmination of bugfrags taken the form of a beast. Gregar is an ancient being created by SciLab as a weapon that got out of control, forcing them to make another to fight it, Falzer, who also got out of control so they trapped both of them into the underground.
Reid Vx During one of the cutscenes in BN6, we find that they have the same backstory, meaning that they are the same. That's why Falzar had to be created to combat him.
Yeah that’s wrong it’s even stated in bn6 that gregar and gospel were basically made the same way they were made by the accumulation of bug drags the only difference is gregar was at the birth of the new where as gospel was made well with dr A’s involvement
@@roldanmarcelo1636 gospel is made and the leftover data created gregar. But I think I messed up the timeline or got it wrong that gregar created natually and gospel is leftover virus from gregar (gregar is just viruses merged into 1 program or something).

Gospel Beast and Gregar are not the same. Gospel beast in the manga, anime, and game where all a result of the group Gospel creating it. Gregar is much much much older and had been sealed away long before any of the events in the Battle Network series.
Bublo ZX I believe the virus beast/gospel beast is a attempt to make the gregar cyber beast I’ve heard that before and W3 would have had knowledge of it there for information was attainable for gospel to find and use. The Thomas light from this series and wily are really underutilized. the virtual timeline is awesome just as much as the robot timeline.
Good theory but i think this is proven wrong by one sentence at the end of BN6. After defeating bass mega askes "do you think he'll be back?" Lan responds "Bass is Bass" meaning they are aware this is him and that even though he was beat he lives on.
Nice catch! I was waiting for someone to bring this point up. Honestly, there are a number of small holes like this. (Bass’ beast changing depending on the version, for example) I did my best to fill in the blanks and explain what the heck happened in BN4-5.

It's the "Digital Strider ~strident mix~" found on one of the OST's. I can't recall where I found it, since it's been years, but having the track name might help!
My only disappointment with this series is that Bass isn’t redeemed into an anti-hero character that will side with megaman but will still occasionally battle with him for a fun rivalry because he’s the only being that can match his power and eventually ends up respecting him. I also wished he was playable although the Bass Cross form is the closest thing possible which is only in MMBN5 and 6 (but with hacks/cheats)

As well i believe gospel was an attempted remake of gregar to make the combined falzar/gregar Navi more easy to create and generate to a massive level to help cleanse the earth for world 3 aka www the way blaster man and stone man we're copy and pasted from the show. Great video
Why did I have to be the 666th like
