    So much more glass than if done with with UPVC. Looks lovely. My only thought, which I had a conversation about the other day, is the colour. Very modern now in 15 years is that going to be the avocado bathroom of the 2020s

    Looks stunning, genuine question though? I thought the trims had to be on inside for security?

      Older windows were externally beaded but secured so well that there are plenty of easier ways to break into a house.

    • @dougsaunders8109
      @dougsaunders8109 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The double sided tape means you would never get the glass out. Brick is the only way, double glazed with modern glass that would probably bounce too

    • @paulthompson5416
      @paulthompson5416 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is probably correct, but from a security point of view either vice grips or adjustable spanner will have the majority of “honest” people through a euro cylinder in less than 30 seconds.
      Plus there’s more chance of a prying on the frame opener than removing of trims as it would be quicker.
      Locks are only to keep honest people out 😉

    What a FANTASTIC video. There must be some sort of talisman at A&E to be able to put a video like this together.😎 The finished job clearly reflects the skill and effort that has been put into it.🤩

    After the hot dip galvanising process there should be no holes drilled, no cutting, grinding or weld touch touch up.
    After galvanising straight to powder coating and with the correct dft you’ll have a coating system with less chance of rust or oxidation, sealing compromised galvanising with silicon or cold galvanising paint repairs is a sure way for corrosion to start.

      @@amazing451 the cilll that the frame sits on is made in 3 parts. The inner and outer most being aluminium. They sandwich a plastic section. This provides a break in any heat, or cold conducting from outside to in and vice versa. I hope that makes sense. I'm far from an expert. This is only my limited understanding.

    • @Nicefro1976
      @Nicefro1976 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What Mark said - but mainly it stops cold bridging - warm moist air making contact with cold steel (cold from outside -in) and then forming condensation.

    • @adamflint2060
      @adamflint2060 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@bobcharlie7982 better quality than what exactly? If it's a conservation area or listed requirement then that's fair enough, but why would you choose metal frames if you didn't have to? Freezing cold, I'd be surprised if they didn't condensate, very low durability and to top it off externally beaded. Now there's no way that makes them less secure because of the tape, but if the seal blows in the glass, which happens all the time, then you'll do well not to cause some serious damage replacing it. And after all that, what do you get...windows that look plastic! So, to repeat my question, why would you though?

    • @dougsaunders8109
      @dougsaunders8109 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The glass area is increased massively as plastic is much thicker. Far more light, rooms that place would be massive and need the extra light
      The glass is stuck in and would never pull it out to break in
