There's plenty of biker videos on TH-cam that look impressive, but really they're taking huge risks and just hoping they'll make it past. I don't find that sort of thing impressive. Real control over the bike as well as the situation requires much more skill. Remember, anyone can go fast, it's knowing when to slow down that counts.

The stability on it is so reassuring that makes you want to go faster, you hardly feel the wind ( Providing you've got a higher screen ) When I saw my 185 mph - 298 kph it didn't feel I was going that fast, it felt as I was passing the cars slowly at that speed..Nevertheless on another occasion I went faster without the luggage naturally, very satisfactory indeed with the R 1 in every respect, mind you I always had Yamahas.. Lol

No, I don't think so. In Germany the drivers of Porsche knows quite well they can't go the speed and gives the lane free. In contrast to Mercedes, Audi or quite often BMW. They normally think they are fast, but are capped at 250km/h if they can reach this. At this speed I shift gears from 4th to 5th with my old gixer.

All japanese brands (and european, since 2004, I think), on their 1000 RR segment, limit the indicated speed to 299 km/h on the speedo. The bikes/engines themselves are not limited since, as you can see on this and other youtube vídeos the tachmeter of the bike keeps on slightly raising. The only real limited motorbikes 'til 300 km/h are the Hayabusa 1300 and ZX-14R, with electronic speed limiters. I own a 2008 Yamaha R1 ident to this one here. It reaches 299 km/h max indicated speed on the digital speedometer @ 13.000 rpm and the tach climbs to 13.500 rpm with a little bit of descent slope, which is equivalente to 315 km/h indicated (there is an error of 7% associated with the speedo, according to my GPS). That would be equivalente to a max real speed of aprox. 293 km/h.

I understand there's no speed limit on most (if not all) expressways in Germany. Youth, middle aged n even senior fellows, male or female, all get used to cruise at hi speed. YET, its accidents rate doesn't seem to run much higher or more fatal than d rest of the countries. I truly admire n respect them, I would guess majority of d drivers there get accustomed to driving at hi speed n have very good driving attitude in terms of truly observing n complying with d Essential n Important rules n manners. I once did only 190 kph n was forced to let off d gas pedal on 110 kph limit whereby I know that certain section has no radar, simply because other drivers actually don't know how to deal with d situation when they saw me coming from behind in higher speed than their cars. Some kept driving on d fast lane, blocking me, more ridiculously was 1 driver was so nervous when I flashed hi beam from behind, he actually tapped d brake n slowed down his speed instead of moving out of my way !!! Total lack of experience n perspective yet always chooses to drive on d fast lane, some people just drive this way n will never improve or bother to learn how to better their driving attitudes !!!

It's kinda obvious because the bike wieghs 160-180 kg and it probably has the same in hp So unless you're driving a bugatti or some tuned golf with 700 hp there's not much you can do 😂
mijnR R1 is much deeper sounding than that usually. Beginning of the video definitely sounds like 600cc to me. And all of it for that matter. That's what I was getting at. Have you ever heard an R1??
+Offended Badly Then Unsubscribed Forget the sound, you can tell it's a R1 just from the redline RPM. I believe this model year was before the introduction of the crossplane crankshaft so thats why it's not as deep sounding.
