This is such a wonderful and informative narrative. I have an "oil" reproduction of the "Lewis & Clark Meeting The Flatheads " nicely framed and hanging over my fireplace. Also several other Russell prints and memorabilia like first issue postage stamps. . I have been to the Russell Museum in Great Falls twice and have a few of the large books of his prints. The Harold McCracken 1957 book and also the Frederic G. Renner 1974 one I purchased at the Museum in 1987. Just now re reading his " Trails Plowed Under". I was introduced to his work while I was living in Edmonton 1966-71. Now in Ontario. Happy to be able to share my thoughts with like minded fans of Charlie.
Charles M. Russell---- the pride of the state of Montana. The breadth and scope of that man's unique genius is often underestimated. He was much more than a "cowboy artist"----- he was an artist of the highest historical world stature. I am not kidding when I say that Rembrandt, Rubens, Goya, and the greatest Old Masters would have admired the work of Charlie Russell. For me he was an even greater sculptor than a painter, if you can believe that! For some reason, people put Picasso and other names on a higher pedestal than the work of a mere "cowboy artist", but when you really look closely at his talents----- Charles M. Russell is right up there with the all-time greats. And above all, as one of the most remarkable and interesting human beings I've ever experienced.
What an interesting and beautifully acted and directed homage to the great Charles Russell. Now I have to visit the Montana Historical Society! Thank you for inspiring me with another goal!

He would keep Me busy at a lot of things, ~ one He would show Me some precious objects like a large old mustard jar half full of coins, $ 5.00 gold pieces, Mercury dimes, etc. also He had a large 15" x 30" {0r so} of a Charles Russell print in a heavy gold painted frame of "Bronk to Breakfast" as at 9:30 that He said He would will to Me. But while He was in the hospital having a leg amputation that He didn't survive, (😢🙏📿, RIP Bruce Sager)❕ He was in the Hospital while someone broke into His house and stole everything that They could load up. - Most say it was the Chief of Police in Deer Lodge, Johnny Wilson❗ Yup‼
No way this gal is telling the story the way Charlie Russell told it. Just like she says,.. she was the business side of the family and she is playing Nancy to a T. This art world of ours is so full of BS it actually stinks like it sounds. Sorry girl, its just the way I see it.

I never heard of him until I acquired a Russell collection from a storage sale and his life was movie worthy,the cm Russell book a must read
