I would like to compliment the final comment by Pat Williams by adding that the two statues chosen by the the State of Montana possibly also exemplifies and celebrates the spirit of a trailblazer.
My gt grandmother was russels cleaner and caretaker .My parents were friends and students of Charlie R best student shorty shoppe. Charlie gave my gt grandmother 15 drawings on a roll. Somehow someone thought they wernt worth anything so they got thrown away. I was told by my gt gram robey that Charlie when with the native americans would wear multiple layers of clothing and when one got dirty hed peel them off to the next layer.

I was blessed to have gone to Charles M. Russell High School the first year it opened.

I can't help but shed tears for this wonderful man whom recorded Americans history. What an egnamious man.
Thanks for narrating this Bill, I grew up in the area he painted, and miss it very much. But, life takes you other places.

He was truly brilliant. I just did a short video on his work as he is a legend.
I was named after him and my family owned and operated a 1,000 acre ranch in the heart of Montana.

He clearly had a good sense of humour, and an eye for the dramatic.
