This is one of my favorite truck conversions on TH-cam. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if you posted more rolling videos, I like seeing this truck moving down the road. Metal fabricator for 30+ yrs, you're giving me a lot of inspiration, I've always wanted to do something like this. Your vids are a big help and make me think about stuff I didn't think about before.
Your crimping on the ring terminal is correct. Split goes to rounded area of the crimper, non split goes to the point to "push" the metal into the wire.
Hey brother, I’m Glen from a little North of Houston. Just wanted ya to know I have very much enjoyed watching your progress with this build. My dad was a machanic from WW2 on, and had two auto repair shops when I was a kid. He had an old 59 Ford pickup sitting in the back of the shop for years, well long enough for a tree to grow up through the engine compartment. Anyhow long story long, he put a 440 Chrysler engine in her, and painted her a bright gold. I loved that truck, but he sold it so we could take a vacation when I was 13. I was thinking about exactly what you are doing, and found your channel on TH-cam.
you need to start selling builds or offering services to do this for folks. ive seen plenty do this and looked at 3 builds to buy. def would buy one of yours.
I appreciate it! I usually sell my builds after I've enjoyed them for awhile. Problem is I end up with more time in them than other people so I have to charge more. Few people can tell the difference in quality.
I have ocd, when I look at your bed and see that hump in the middle my brain goes that should be flat, make it flat!😂😂 surly there's away to make it as it was or atleast resemble what it looked like 😂. But nonetheless I have been hooked great project cool truck I love it
Thank you! It could be made flat and full depth, but not with my strict budget. Or it can be made flat but only as deep as the highest section which makes it almost useless. This was my attempt at a compromise! Thank you for following along!
@@BestDamnShopAround yeah I totally understand, we can't all be bill gates... 😂😂 some of us gotta be normal haha, but yeah man props to you 👏 the car looks mint 👌 it doesn't look weird, it doesn't look like the bed has been shorten it looks awesome man keep it up👍
You’re my hero! I just picked up a 59 and a p71 cv. What was your final budget ? I’m aiming at about $3500. I plan to use the f100 steering wheel and modify for a floor shift using the original shifter. Looking forward to any more videos on this one!!!
We've got two more videos planned, one of interior upgrades and the second of the maiden voyage. Probably also doing a complete cost breakdown as well. Ended up with right around 2,200 total.
The seat was a gamble but it worked out well, super comfortable and it's hard to beat a flip down armrest with cup holders! Yes, the back window is staying until it falls out haha
I have two more videos planned for the series. First will be an interior video and The second will be an entire price breakdown. So stick around and you'll see how i did it for less than $2200 cash
I'm 6 ft with a long torso. This combination puts me at that perfect arm out the window cruising height. My head is nowhere near the roof and I don't feel like I'm looking out the top of the windshield
I know this 100% makes me sound like a car Karen…but after tearing apart dozens of rusty trucks, it’s so grating to me to see people plugging in weatherpak connectors with no dielectric grease haha! This build is super cool though! I love every second of this series!!
@@BestDamnShopAround you and me both, although now a days I only use it when I feel it’s necessary. It’s like having an airbag, you don’t want to use it but it’s nice to know it’s there. Job well done sir.
@@BestDamnShopAround Great! Now find a set of those 17” Mustang wheels. Then I say for the exterior cosmetics it’s finished… (just my worthless .02 cents) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Everything needs a turbski! Lol to be honest I wasn't punching it very hard, I'm very timid with new builds! But just imagine it's about the same speed as a bone stock 2010 crown Vic police interceptor, maybe a couple hundred pounds lighter.
@@Jimbosmax thank you! I developed the two foot habit from racing go karts and it's stuck with me for life 😂 also everything else I own is a straight shift so my left foot feels lazy not doing something haha

I was taught to crimp the way you showed. I usually use uninsulated connectors and use heat shrink looks cleaner.
Glad I'm not crazy! 😂 Agreed, heat shrink definitely looks cleaner, didn't have any uninsulated ones and this being hidden I let it slide!
Awesome build. Thanks for sharing.

I vote weld on a gas cap and ditch the rag. That little cup will be full of water if it sits outside.
Good point!
Never would have considered a rear super crew seat for a front seat. Are you going to leave the rear glass? I would til it just wouldnt hold anymore.

Damn good build! Out of curiosity, since I’m assuming the f100 didn’t come with a title, is the truck technically registered as the crown Vic?
Here in Georgia we don't require titles for vehicles older than 1985. So it is registered as a 59 F100 because that is the then on the cab.
