I know they tell you NOT to play as malkavian for your first run-through of vampire the masquerade bloodlines.....but I did and it was easily my most favorite playthrough.
took a lot of thinking to understand what certain lines meant but being able to talk the "taxi driver" into letting me loose was epic.
- I played my first hour as Gangrel but didn't like my spec and when I restarted and read the Malk description it just seemed like too much fun to not try. I always heard later its a bad idea to do them as your first run but it didn't seem that difficult and it was amazing to see just how much work they put into giving them so much unique dialog and added extra character reactions. So I always tell people if what they describe sounds amazing and fun to you, then first play even go for it as these days many people have so many games and things going on they may not do a second playthrough and if you are only gong to do one run of the game I think its a tragedy not to play as a Malk.

@@thevashfan12392 For sure, its hard to think of a game that did something that big and unique for something that they at least had to assume going in would only be experienced by a minority of the players. I dont think they knew going in that the game would be such an amazing RPG that people play it so many times over and over again that nearly everyone who has it has done a Malk run.
honestly I think its almost better if you DO play as malk your first time though.
cuz yeah, the whispers and stuff like that are hints and spoilers about whats actually going on... but when its your first playthrough, you don't know whats going on, so it forces you to try and figure out what it all means. which is very much what the experience should be like.
on subsequent playthroughs, sure its cool, but it undermines the experience, cuz you already know what everything is referencing.

I am so sad we didn't get a mention of Dr. Harold Zettler: Malkavian antitribu, Sabbat member, Pentex board member, and fully-corrupt servant of the Defiler Wyrm.

The fact Crowley is a canonical Malkavian and the heavy references in Mage makes the influence of him on the WoD pretty obvious and neat

I don't know if the Lazar will read this, but I need to say it. These videos are of extreme quality. I myself are always trying to incorporate more simulation vide rather then narration, just like it says in your bio. These videos have a very high level of information only a true fan of WoD would have the dedication to compile. This makes the video practical for someone like me who only plays Vampire for about 5years and who feels overwhelmed by the amount of lore I can find at this point.
I respect this video on a deep level.

About the Voerman sisters - First, it was good to mention DID, but it also means those Personalities are just as real as any other one (unless they are fragments). The Psyche is fragile and yet very inventive thing.
V5 Anarch shows us that both Personalities are still around. And LA by Night shows a Therese who is still all about business, but seems to prefer the Anarch Course as she is against Vanevar. V5 Anarch also implicates that the annection of Las Vegas (possibly Nevada?) to the Anarch Free States. It suggests that The Asylum is now a brand like the Succubus club before.
Oh and I think it is interesting that we now how their sire (Jacob/Esau), who might appear in Bloodlines 2.
Malkavian blood is a peculiar thing. It exacerbates whatever 'cracks' in the human mind already exist, however flawless it appears from the outside, hence the broken mirror.
I'm not up on the recent V5 happenings.
Las Vegas, as I recall had strong Giovanni presence in the form of the Rothstein family. Despite the Anarchs sudden upgrade in competence, it's hard to imagine the Giovanni giving up the Strip without a fight.

Maybe. But than they lost the patriarch and elders to either the Beckoning or the uprise of the youngsters who help found the Hecata.
They seem pretty decimated and trying just to hold together.
So I imagine it would be the best time to attack now.

Same with Montrose, the Nosferatu who actually ruled Vegas from behind Prince Benedic.

Maybe it comes down to an agreement with the Hecata (and possibly even Montrose).
Montrose would let Anarchs come play in Vegas, so long as they followed the rules (no feeding on the Strip, no tournament poker and don't lose more than $10 million in a single night in the casinos).

that's genuinely scary....could it be that because ludmilla knows so well of foresight that they, as in everyone else, can't identify ludmilla as such?

General J. Benison Hodge The Last Prince of Atlanta was a great Malkavian. He was able to bring his hallucinations to life. His story line was very interesting.
He was a rare happily married vampire as well, until Dr. Sutphen and the Sabbat rolled into town

Where did you find the picture of the smoking Dr Douglas Netchurch (time stamp 39:00) ?Im familiar with that picture from vampire the card game where it represents a setite named Hadrian Garrick and if you look at his right eye you can see the pupil isnt a normal one, But that of a snake(, Feline etc)

Doesn't Anatole appear in the Backett's Jyhad diary or more like there are notes written by him (and I think at least 1 recorded exchange between Beckett and Anatole). I don't know when these events occur in relation to the cathedral of flesh thing.
Anatole's Final Death was noted in the Revised Clanbook Malkavian, and retconned in V20.
Out of all of the characters mentioned in this, Petaniqua's story is probably the least cohesive of the bunch. It doesn't feel like her writer(s) had any real purpose or direction in mind when writing her background, especially compared to most of the others. It also tries to tie way too many disparate elements of the greater WoD together; she's like VtM's Samuel Haight if he weren't written as an in-joke.
Actually... I realize there probably isn’t much info on him. But since you mentioned Therese and Jeanette. What about the Malkavian Primogin of the same game? Aleister Grout?
He has some backstory but Dr. Netchurch is more interesting and the Voermann Sister(s) is on the cover of VTMB.

Question: Would you count Allonzo Montoya to Malkavians, Shadow Lords or nowhere? I am in doubt about his categorization, as is he himself maybe, since he, as an Garou Abomimation, turned the back on everything. Maybe he even fits best to the Black Spiral Dancers?
Definitely Malkavian, probably not a Dancer. It is unknown if a Vampire/Abomination can dance the Black Spiral.

I'd love to know how the Reawakening affected Montoya, but since there is no update on his character, we will not know ...

The Malkavian your asking about is named Andreas, author of the Gospel of Andreas, and supposedly the Apostle sent to redeem Caine.
He appeared in the player's guide to the low clans.

If you say, Crowley devoured (so diablerized?) his sire here - this was maybe changed in V5?. Just read in Fall of London that he was turned by Abraham Mellon, and he did even freely seemingly as he disliked the Tremere.
Though, I dont know if he is still alive or got the same fate upon him (he was shown in a memorian of the 19th century.) As he is not present in future london, possibly or he vanished.
It probably was changed in V5.
Mellon is/was a very solitary vampire in Victorian Vampire. He probably spent more time Astral form than in his own body.

They def changed it, originally this Crowley was sired by Achadramenos. Who was said to be a servant and pawn of Mithras.

Tamara Johanna McIntyre, I don’t know, I kinda prefer that Crowleys sire be a unknown, that way it’s more dramatic and extreme what Crowley did to him in the long run. The fact that he’s so batshit insane and a megalomaniac that even Mithras couldn’t play him tells you something about how dangerous he really is.

I love your content, Im a fan of the 3rd version of WoD since it came out 1998-99, but, the story about Philip and Alexander was not the story that whitewolf published, they just used the names. The real story has nothing to do with Philip murdered by his wife and son. Polygamy was practiced back then, also about the rape no comments dude. There is no greek or ancient greek reference to what you are saying or concluding here. Let's stick to vampires pls.
