What sucks is that Jackie Loughery, the very first Miss USA in 1952 passed away this year last February and we didn't even have an in memoriam for her. Instead we had to listen to Lackluster Rose's ChatGPT speech for the fourth time.

I agree, pageants in Mexico are in a situation that is almost similar, sponsors and business people they no longer want to sponsor a beauty pageant because they do not want to risk losing money if the event does not meet expectations or is profitable enough.

      @luchalemi 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

I agree, pageant in the US is not much of a relevance its like they don’t care or IDK unlike here in Asian country where we considered like a super bowl where die hard fans meet, more media exposure, girls activity for advertising, fashion show left and right, maybe they are experimenting to stay away from the traditional pageant, too bad for the candidates that they were not even showcase more of their advocacy. kudos still to the production for putting up a show.

My sister is Miss Idaho USA and it was a STRUGGLE to get this together. There was no state sponsor for gown and we had to rent a gown with three weeks before she left. We wish we had more time to prepare and I know she would’ve done better if we had the time. Some girls had three months to prepare which makes a huge difference. Also worth mentioning that we had to individually pay for flights and hair and makeup everyday which was not provided by Miss USA.

Pop the corn and feed the children! Miss Walker is giving us what we need. Lol
I agree with Dani's thoughts and commentary.
    Some thoughts I had:
*Laylah's speech 🙄... giving women voices when she silenced the voices of the 2023 winners while she keeps yapping hers.
*I think it was the mid 90s when they started doing the parade of gowns prior to the evening gown competition.
*I think a top 20 is too much for USA with 51 contestants. A top 15 that competes in both swimsuits and gowns resulting in a top five would be better. At Universe where there are 80+ contestants needs the top 20. Lesser semifinal spots makes it even more competitive from the prelims.
*I didn't like that some girls had capes and some didn't for swimsuit. I actually prefer that they all wear the same swimsuit and maybe just stick with a one piece or two piece option.
*That scepter looks like something I can get at Party City. If they want to go with a scepter, make it match the crown and make it bigger.
*This is something that's bugged me since 2011 when they made this switch but I hate that the runner up doesn't get her moment as she doesn't get announced. I preferred the announcement of the first runner up then the winner like they did up to 2010.
*Do you think they chose a winner who would be a good Miss USA or someone who could do well maybe even win Universe? I think Michigan fits the first rather than the latter.
Thank you for this video and looking forward to the next one!

Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for your Super Thanks! This is such a huge help for the channel!
You brought up some great points too. Also, I think the reason they announce the winner as they do now is for the news clips that are shared the next day. It's so you can hear the winners name called as she reacts to the announcement. If you announce the runner up, you'll get the queen's reaction at that moment, but when taken out of context for the news, it's confusing to see the queen react when her state wasn't announced.

It's unfortunate how it has fallen because pageants aren't as popular in the states as they used to be and CLEARLY we can all see that Layla Rose only cares for is a PAYCHECK and think shes Miss USA. As a business major, there are so many options and ideas that they can take for the miss USA organization to keep it running well and bring it back to its glory, But again, these new people in charge only care for a PAYCHECK and not the contestants or the legacy of the pageant.

    Hello Dani and everyone,
I am not sure where to begin, but to be blunt. I have been watching the Miss USA pageant since the 90s, and I never thought the day would come that I would be so sad to see the decline of this wonderful pageant. I remember as a young child waiting for weeks in anticipation for the pageant to come on. I remember going to the grocery store and waiting to open the TV Guide to see the Miss USA ad in the pages LOL. It was such a pain to watch this years pageants. My goal was to only support and cheer on the beautiful ladies. I honestly didn't care who won because I am so nervous for the winner being around Layla and her group of YES people.
What is the saddest part of this whole mess is seeing all the state directors step down. All the legendary men and women who sent the best of the best. The Mills, Kimberly Nicewonder, Britt Boyse, Melissa Proctor....so sad to see the years of history gone in a blink of th eye. I actually started my channel to honor GuyRex and their contribution to the Miss USA system. These individuals are irreplaceable.

Miss Maryland was gorgeous. When she came out on stage on Swimsuit prelims they said she was born when she was 11? Did they misread her bio? I also noticed that when miss teen Connecticut came out also in swimsuit prelims they read miss teen Colorado bio. I mean I know that mistakes happen but it would’ve been nice to know miss teen Connecticut bio as well and you can see her disappointment in her face reaction

There was a lot of misreadings in this production. While Savannah is beautiful, she should stay away from commentary in the future.

Omg @Dani Walker!!! I knew I had to look for your video as soon as I watched the pageant. I thought I needed to keep my not-so-good comments to myself and wait for your video about the pageant. And I’m happy we have the same sentiment. It’s just not the same Miss USA pageant from previous years :( but I do wish Alma Cooper all the best at the MU stage.

Interesting that Alma already met a judge. I’d almost bet that the scoring was screwed against the top girls, that’s why you saw Texas, California, New York, Florida out earlier than expected.
I hope not, but my investigative mind is wondering.

I could not help but go back to your review of Miss America 2024 and even Miss Earth USA 2024, and even watch those pageants. And I must say these 2 pageants made Miss USA 2024 a snoozefest. The opening numbers of Miss America and Miss Earth USA are more exciting and lets not forget, they have sponsors - Viscaya swimwear for Miss Earth USA for example. Unless they change management, Miss USA will go down.

First of all, I am glad you validated my impression of the pageant and the contestants. I stopped watching after they named the top 5 because they were so lackluster...I definitely agree that a number of contestants with stage presence and sprakle (Va, especially) were overlooked even after outstanding prelims and during the show.......I don't expect much success in Miss Universe unless there is a lot of training for the new Miss USA.....

The Miss USA Pageant 2024 was a disappointing departure from its usual glamour and high production values, appearing notably low-budget and carelessly executed. The food provided to the contestants was subpar, forcing family members to step in and supply snacks and additional beverages to keep their loved one hydrated throughout their busy days. The overall pacing felt disjointed, with lackluster production structure and an uninspired judges' panel further diminishing the event's appeal. This year’s pageant was a stark letdown, underscoring a need for significant improvements to meet the standards of this iconic competition.
