As a ‘young adult’ myself I personally enjoy when ya books talk about spice (as long as there’s no explicit scenes) as it’s something a lot of teens partake in and I think that when ya books talk about it in a healthy way it removes a lot of the stigma and shame around the topic and helps educate us! However I think it’s definitely hard to say when authors take it to far especially as the ya genre spans such a large age range (13-18) honestly the genre needs to be split up into more upper/ lower. Loved this video ❤❤
i totally agree! them talking about spice makes it normal and educational - which is great for younger audiences!! and you’re right! they should split the genre, because the range of YA romances is so wide!
Every time you post a new video it just makes my day 🥰🥰 I love the bloopers at the end haha
Personally I wasn’t outraged by the mention of sex in Check & Mate, it’s just mentioned (and from what I remember it wasn’t anything graphic?) and it’s for young adults, not children 🤷🏻♀️ idk Shatter Me, which is also YA, has some “spicy” scenes without being graphic, and no one is saying it should be NA. l mean, in comparison Check & Mate is nothing 😂
that is so sweet, thank you🥹🥰
i honestly didn’t mind it, i just wasn’t expecting it since most of the YA i’ve read has been closed door so i was like OH👀 and was just confused😂
Ahhh you held up Flawless and I was *so* hoping it would be picked. It’s definitely a spicy series, but I’m on book 3 and just devouring them😂🩵 can’t wait to hear what you think about it!
it’s on my tbr for february🥰 so excited to get to it, and glad you’re enjoying it !!
