So far every melter has made the same mistake with Zinc. The first time is a lesson. 😉😉😉😉 Thanks for the video. I suppose by now you have a better way to melt Zinc. It's a wonderful metal to cast with. Stae Safe!!! 👍😁👍😁👍
Yes I think every melter makes that mistake with zinc the first time. I haven’t melted any since as it kinda hard to come by but I have got a few wheel weighs and I will do another video soon and cast something with zinc. Thank you 👍
@@meltingipswich Get some root rot (copper sulfate) and put a small amount in a spray bottle and fill with water. Spray a clean area (use a angle grinder) on the metal. If it turns black, it is zinc. If it remains silver, it is aluminum. This helps before you try to melt.
@@jimbotkin9318 I thought that was for Identifying magnesium. Zinc is much heavier and melts at 720 degrees. Magnesium melts at 1202 degrees. I just had to look that up. Interesting. I think I'm going to find some scrap Magnesium next. Stay safe!! 😁😉😁😉
