  • We Cycled The WORLDS MOST DANGEROUS ROAD - DEATH ROAD Bolivia
    In this video we take on the worlds most dangerous road which used to claim around 200-300 lives a year before it was closed off and replaced by a newer road. Now it is possible to visit this incredible road and experience it by bike which has become a really popular tourist attraction, although the road still claims around 12 cyclists lives a year it is a pretty safe thing to do if you go on a guided tour with decent bikes and can actually cycle a bike, that helps!
    We started off at 4670 metres above sea level and cycled down to just over 1000 metres, so it was all downhill meaning fitness wise this adventure isn’t too challenging. It is tough on the arms though as it basically means you have to keep the handlebars steady for six hours going over very rocky terrain whilst traveling downhill.
    It is an adventure for sure and we’re so glad we did it, it’s been one of our highlights of Bolivia as the scenery is incredible!

    A British couple from just outside London, England. We got married in 2018 and decided instead of a honeymoon we’d travel the world together. We saved money and travel points, quit our jobs, rented our house out and boarded a one way flight in 2020. We started this TH-cam channel to share our experiences with friends, family and anyone who plans to travel to the places we’re visiting. We leave TKT tips/facts in our vlogs and blogs to give information that we wish we’d had before visiting. We hope you find our content fun & useful :)

    Wow! Looks scary but AMAZING!!!
    Views fab! Bet your arms & body felt shakey after that!?! Glad of a rest after I’m sure! Soon cured by a dip in that pool though😜eh?!

      Yes, arms were tingling and then achey for days after! It was so strange jumping into a pool in the tropics after starting off in icey barren conditions. Very surreal but awesome!

    Hola Kristy and Craig! I'm the Chilean guy who accompanied you on this tour. I still remember you for your charisma and friendliness, and I am glad to have watched the video to remember that magical moment. Greetings and I hope you have many more trips!

    Wow guys, what an adventure. That was some of the most beautiful landscape I have ever seen, and what a fun way to take it all in! This is something we are definitely going to do some day! The awkward fist bump at the beginning had us laughing. It seems like whenever Skylar greets anyone, no matter what he choses (fist or handshake), the other person ALWAYS choses the other one 😂

      It was really awesome, I was a little unsure about doing it before we did the research but then I realised we had to do it!
      The fist bump scenario went on for so long it was the most awkward/hilarious early morning moment! Glad Craig’s not the only one that ends up in these fist bump handshake situations🤣🤣

    What was the name of the company you booked this tour through?

    • @TideKnotTravellers
      @TideKnotTravellers  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We booked it with Barro biking and they were really good. We just walked into their store right outside our accommodation near the witches market and booked directly with them.

    An incredible adventure! Was biking on the Death Road dangerous? Would you suggest it to less-experienced cyclists in their 40s?

    • @TideKnotTravellers
      @TideKnotTravellers  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It was dangerous in that you could hurt yourself if you fell off (like the guy we met an hour after we’d booked😅) but we don’t have a lot of biking experience, we’ve just got a normal amount and we’re fine. Upper body strength is helpful for holding on so long though!

    I'm going to guess that Craig is a Sagittarius and Kristy is a Capricorn.
