In the aftermath of the recent Chennai floods that wreaked havoc on many homes, a Skoda Kushaq owner has shared a distressing experience that has stirred a lot of controversy on online automotive forums. The floods, occurring between December 4-6, submerged various areas unexpectedly, impacting even those considered safe. One resident, who had parked a Mercedes CLA, Jeep Compass, and a Skoda Kushaq inside their house, discovered an alarming disparity in how each vehicle fared during the calamity. While the Mercedes and Jeep exhibited resilience by starting without issues post-flood, the Skoda Kushaq presented a different narrative. Despite the water level reaching only the wheel hub, the Kushaq refused to start.

This sounds like a dealership scam. The quote given is almost the cost of a mid variant Kushaq. Also knowing the car was affected in the floods he should’ve towed it to the garage to be in the safer side before attempting to start it on his own.

Thing with companies like Ford, VW, Skoda,Nissan is that their market in India is too small as compared to their global presence which makes them little careless in understanding and building cars for india. Since their indian share is too small for their big pocket they can pull the plug and exit india anytime without much deliberations.
