Ron joined in 1991 and had scabbers evrr since and they gave the map to harry in 1993. So they had 4 long years to spot the guy named pettigrew. Because they used it to sneak around Hogwarts, so they'd be busy looking out for Filch or the teachers! Why would they focus on who's in the Gryffindor common room? There were soooo many people on the map, it would have been easy to miss out on him

I'm saying there were a lot of names and they wouldn't have bothered to see who's in the Gryffindor common room. Even if they did see the name, they wouldn't have recognized Pettigrew because he supposedly "died" before their time and they wouldn't have known who he was until people started talking about him and Sirius after he escaped Azkaban.
Ron Weasley is one of my favourite characters actually. Wished they did his character Justice in the films. I mean if anything the focus of the visual storytelling should have been all three of the Golden Trio not just Harry and Hermione. And I that thing Rowling said was actually that her decision for Ron/Hermione was that that was always her original plan and that se didn't put into account that tone might change as she continued writing. I think their romance and eventual marriage makes a lot of sense and feels more realistic.
Yeah he only spends seven years mocking her for being smarter and more mature than him, and having zero common interest or interest in her life or her past or her fight against slavery or her passions... yeah, they're made for each other. Like a really dumb self-centered jock and a super smart abolitionist Nobel prize winner.
Hermione wasn't good looking according to the book, but Ginny was. But in the movie it is the other way round. That was a pretty strong disconnect for me. And I am glad Harry and Hermione did not end up together
kpk07 you may not be taking the concept of an unreliable narrator into consideration. The books are from Harry's point of view, so they focus on Ginny's attractiveness because he had a crush on her. Also, Emma Watson was cast as a kid, it would've been hard to predict how hot she'd grow up to be.
I imagined it like the girl who spends zero time on her appearance and doesn't shave or bother in a "I don't need to look good for anyone" kind of way, later becoming like a "I can look good for myself" kind of thing.

This is what happens when people who read/watch Harry Potter as a plain story book about wizards and don't really get the essence of the books sit down and discuss about it 😑 Harry and Hermione getting together would have been such a cliché, come'on! It was important to show that Ron who is seen as a sidekick (which he's not, he's a wonderful character) can get the girl! Both Hermione and Ron had their own insecurities that they had to battle with to get together and I think that's beautiful! Also, if you know the characters well, you'll see how mismatched Harry and Hermione would have been! Harry needed someone like Ginny who knew what it was like to be controlled by Voldemort, someone funny and smart and strong and fiery! Harry always said he liked and admired Hermione but she was not a lot of fun and nagged a lot. Ginny is one of my most favourite characters in the book and she's definitely perfect for Harry! Plus the fact that Harry noticed her only when she was truly herself is a good life lesson! Hermione is an amazing character too but she's perfect for Ron because she needed someone who'd help her unwind and he needed someone who'd keep him motivated. Plus Ron was always overshadowed by either Harry or his brothers, and getting "the girl" meant a lot to him! Coming to Dumbledore dying.. What is wrong with you people? It was not needed? The whole elder wand plot worked only because he planned his death. There would have been no plot if he hadn't died. Every death was necessary except maybe Fred's! The movies suck btw. I loved 'the chamber of secrets'...it terrified me as a child but enjoyed every moment of it...😊also 'The Goblet of fire' introduced me to viktor krum and hermione love angle which made up for my favourite fanfics😍

Jo was a bit conflicted about the triangle, because Harry was partly Jo herself, Hermione was entirely Jo, and Ron was based entirely on her best friend from school. (his name's in the dedication to book 2) She figured having two characters get together who are based on yourself is a bit... narcissistic? But then she figured R & H didn't really mesh, but by then everything was written.

I'm sorry to say this but, you're alone in saying that statement. HP 7.1 is good because of the evolution of the trilogy. The movie really lacked action. Sure action isn't the only part of a good movie but, too little action isn't good. I believe HP 6 had a perfect mix of Romance,Character Development, and Action but, it's not my favorite movie. I believe Philosopher's Stone is the best movie. It matched the book best in my opinion. Sorry for bad Grammar I'm Deutsch.
Ach cool ich bin auch Deutscher :D Hmm also um ehrlich zu sein fand ich Teil 6 am schlechtesten ... die Romanzen gingen einfach nur auf die Nerven, die ganze Storyline um Slughorn war einfach viiel zu sehr in die Länge gezogen um den Film auszufüllen und dann ganz am Ende zieht alles Wichtige viel zu schnell an, also der Trip von Harry und Dumbledore und dann der "Showdown", nach dem zweiten mal gucken hab ich bei dem Film ehrlich gesagt am wenigsten Lust ihn noch einmal zu schauen ... und wenn dann nur die letzten 20 min :( Aber wegen 7.1., also ich finde was Action angeht ists eigentlich ok, gibt halt nicht soviele Mssenszenen was das angeht, eher einzelne Gefechte zwischen den drei und diversen Todessern ... es gäbe vielmehr zu bemängeln dass der Film viel zu düster ist und nicht mehr wirklich auch für ein jüngeres Publikum insofern geeignet ist/war, dass es so viel Spaß macht ihn zu schauen wenn man was jünger ist ... aber ich fands halt super da ich 16 war als er rauskam und mir der düstere Ton halt eher lag :D Der dritte Film ging ja schon eher in die Richtung, ich schätze mal Alfonso Cuaron hat wohl auch nur bei diesem einen Film Regie geführt weil das Studio letztendlich nicht wollte, dass es SO düster weitergeht in der Reihe, Teil 4-6 waren im Schnitt auch eher etwas mehr gehalten wie 1-2, besonders Teil 5 und 6 wie ich finde ... Naja vielleicht seh ich das auch etwas so weil bis jetzt bei allen Franchises wo der Split beim letzten Film in jeweils zwei Filme gemacht wurde, es immer so dermaßen schief gegangen ist und nur Schrott rausgekommen ist: Tribute von Panem, Twilight, in gewisser Weise auch Hobbit (hier ja sogar ein Buch in drei Filme, wobei es bei Hobbit auch nicht so schlimm war wie bei den anderen beiden Beispielen), während es bei Harry Potter wirklich sußer funktioniert hat wie ich finde :)

Goddamnit! This is the second time I'm watching this video. After MONTHS! And now, it made me laugh even more than before because I recently watched all seasons of Game Of Thrones. They called Hagrid "Hodor"!!! These guys are genius! 😂
The epilogue was just as groan-worthy in the book as well and it almost made me hate it when I read it. It made me wish that I didn't read it. And the wand fight between Dumbledore and Voldemort was awesome both in the books and in the movie.

How do you want them to move during that wand fight. That was "Priori Incantatem" you just don't dance while your wands connect unexpectedly. And if you want movements, see the battle of Hogwarts in DH P-2 and the climax of OotP.
Dumbledore did actually have to die. The death of the mentor is a pivotal part of the Hero's Journey. Though... Serious might also have fulfilled that role, I suppose. Hmm...
I know I am waaay late but just needed this to be out there.... My favorite movie was 1 and 2, I just felt like they caught the essence of the movie, the wonder for the magical world and the best Dumbledore on those films. Then it just went downhill. The third was good but Dumbledore, the 4th left out major plot points, 5th continued as best it could I guess, 6th never actually revealed anything about the half blood prince... and the 7th were barely based on the books, they in my opinion did a bad job at explaining the triangle (wand, stone and cloak) left completly out dumbledore's back story and basically focused on the love triangle issue in Ron's head too much, Honest trailer I agree with you!

Nahh... I believe in the Fanfic of Hermione and Draco if anything more than Harry and Hermione. 😆 Just because they knew eachother a while and became so close, doesn't mean Love Interest and that's not a vibe you get from them at all. They were just STRAIGHT UP FRIENDS...Only person I believed Harry w/ was who ends up with him , Jinny. None of the other short term girlfriends I bought, like the asian one.
I always thought Harry Potter would have been better as a TV series (along the lines of or similar to Game of Thrones) than movies. They would have had more time to tell the whole story with all the details that way.
It's not the wand fights I think... It's really just the voldemort vs. Harry fights that are awesome. Most every other fight is kinda ok. The fights in the fifth film were great, even the little fight between harry, ron and hermine and the two death eaters in the cafe in movie 7.1 was okay. And the very very very short stand off between mcgonagall and Snape was also ok. It's just harry vs. voldemort that sucks.
Katie Herzig the last fight with voldermort vs harry with them going and fighting around the whole castle with that kickass score was pretty badass, goosebumps all over.

Nahh... I believe in the Fanfic of Hermione and Draco if anything more than Harry and Hermione. 😆 Just because they knew eachother a while and became so close, doesn't mean Love Interest and that's not a vibe you get from them at all. They were just STRAIGHT UP FRIENDS...Only person I believed Harry w/ was who ends up with him , Jinny. None of the other short term girlfriends I bought, like the asian one.
I always thought Harry Potter would have been better as a TV series (along the lines of or similar to Game of Thrones) than movies. They would have had more time to tell the whole story with all the details that way.

It's not the wand fights I think... It's really just the voldemort vs. Harry fights that are awesome.
Most every other fight is kinda ok. The fights in the fifth film were great, even the little fight between harry, ron and hermine and the two death eaters in the cafe in movie 7.1 was okay. And the very very very short stand off between mcgonagall and Snape was also ok. It's just harry vs. voldemort that sucks.

Katie Herzig the last fight with voldermort vs harry with them going and fighting around the whole castle with that kickass score was pretty badass, goosebumps all over.
