Oh what a great way to save the spine from the bin! I'm a book lover so if I do use a book (only broken ones) I don't like to waste anything. I absolutely love that vintage lace you added to the tops 😍. 😂 I chop those bits of ribbon off clothes too, hey, free ribbon right? Lol 💖
You always are able to add just the right "something...something" that takes a ordinary project to next level...you take from ordinary to extraordinary. Thank you for sharing
What a wonderful way to save a spine, Tina. Love the lacey one, well all of them actually. Hard to choose a favourite. This video came just in time, I am almost finished with my Hiking Journal and now I know what I want to do to the spine. THANK YOU. Have a wonderful and blessed day. Blessings and hugs, Diana
I did one of those from the use it all book series. Still working on using it all. Your video posted and I literally said out loud, “yea”. Lol love watching your work
I am really loving this series everything you are picking is so cute and not that hard, which I love I have to admit the lockets were a little tricky but so much fun, Thanks for all you do!
Hi Tina!💗🦋🌸 These bookmarks are absolutely stunning!!! Such a great use of a book spine, and such a super gift idea for the readers in your life. Thank you for sharing your inspirations and always putting a positive spin on my day!!🌷🌼🌺
I loved that first little ivory colored flower when you placed it to the right. What I do when nothing seems to be working is start with my first choice and place it and walk away for little while. Then come back and lay something else down and walk away for bit! Usually the right one screams at me when I first walk back to look at it. I just love this series! And your bookmarks came out fabulously! Thank you!
Thank you so much Lorraine. I loved your method for walking away with something laid out and then coming back to it, and again if it's still not coming together. Hope you have a great weekend x
I have heard of making bookmarks out of the spines but I have never seen any. That was a good idea to take the card board off. I usually leave the spines on so I don't have any to make these. Still a nice size for book marks. Love these ❤❤❤
These are very cute! I used to have an Ebay shop and I sold eyelets, Brad's in all shapes and sizes and colors. People just snapped them up. And asked if I could get certain colors and shapes. I sold papers and hand made stuff, I did pretty good at it. But it was a lot of time consuming for me. Because as soon as I listed most of my items they were purchased. I sold a man a box of at least 20 note pads in all sizes and about 20 ink pens for I think it was $40 + shipping. I did sell internationally, but filling out all of the paperwork was just a process. I wish that I could start again but the wholesalers probably would not remember me. And my brick and mortar license, would mean rental property. But as I say it's just to much for me to get back into and I don't think that I could keep up with the orders the way I used to. I am just to young to feel this dang old LOL.
Lol, I know what you mean, it is VERY time consuming packing and shipping things. They also are constantly adding more things to have to do to post overseas, so more form filling, it just takes up such a lot of time. I watch Lindsay Zenor, and often wonder how she does it, as she has a consignment shop for journals. She must be like superwoman !!! x
@@shabbydabbydoodah It sure felt like it to me at the time. But I also miss getting the cute brad's and new things in advance LOL I had what was normally used in the garage to hold nuts and bolts and other stuff. They were 5 drawers long and I want to say 4 down. I had like 20 of them on a wall I have pictures of what my craft room looked like but I just don't like looking at them because it keeps me angry and I want to live in the present and not angry from what I had. And what I am working so hard to replace as I can. I made a small JJ but it was just awful so after looking at it for a week, I tossed it. I didn't feel like it was pretty or no where near sharing. But I will try my best to follow the series that your doing and try again. ❤
I'm in love! LOVE LOVE LOVE this project! If I can find some awesome book spines I will definitely be making these. Did I mention I love this?! 😁 TFS Tina. (Did I say I LOVE this?! 😂)
GdM Tina! What a genius idea! I usually put a bookmark and writing board with each journal, I present to my grands (girls & boys; w/matching cardstock). But, this one can be used in school with the older ones and adults. Thank you! Have a wonderful, safe, healthy and blessed weekend! Peace & Blessings!
Yay!!! Now I know what to do with all those spines I have that were in such bad shape I didn’t use them in the journals. But I couldn’t part with them!! Now I know what to with them! I’m such a hoarder!! Thank you for sharing!❤️
What an awesome idea to use up the spines which you would probably throw away otherwise. Love the way yours turned out. Yet again you’ve turned something so ordinary into extraordinary. I’ve just finished a folio and the February challenge so shall probably make some of these tomorrow. Have a good weekend. Xx
Oh thank you Heather, they are really cute aren't they? I haven't done my February challenge yet, I need to get on with it, maybe tomorrow! Lol. Have fun making some of these. Stay safe and have a good weekend too x
Those are adorable bookmarks I have a few real old books there not as tall as yours I may give this a go!! Love 💗 your pink ring 💍. Thanks for sharing 🥳❣️
I am so jealous of this Tina as I don't have any old books with interesting spines falling apart lol These have turned out fabulous. Great idea. hugs xxxx
I've had this pin pinned for yeeaaarrs!- And as ever, never got round to making from the pinspiration!- I am absOlutELy LOVING this series as an avid pinterester! x
Oh thank you so much Anna. Yes I had had this pinned for years too. Like you I love Pinterest, but very rarely get a chance to actually make anything I've pinned!!! Lol. Have a great Saturday x
This is such a cleaver idea, thanks for sharing this Tina! I have several that are in an envelope on a shelf, lol, I knew there had to be something to do with them someday.🥰 Sheila
You can take Fotos from the spines and print them out. This way you can use them several times or make a new cover out of the old book cover. There are papers that look like linen and such and you can also choose the size you want your book mark.
Hi Tina, these are awesome! I think I may have to go onto Pinterest to get some ideas 😀. These are great for journals but would also be great to give to people who just love to read and don’t necessarily use a journal. Another project to add to my ever growing list 😀. Hugs 🤗
Lol, that's the problem isn't it Linda, there are just toooooooo many projects!!!! Great idea btw to just gift to readers for their reading books too x
How spooky I am doing Rock my Journal with Carol Tinson and on the 13th Feb our prompt was to make a library on a page and this is exactly what I did, it looks really effective xx. Yes always save your shoulder holder ribbon 🎀 lol I do it’s perfect for things like this, I cut them off anyway as they are annoying when you wear the item of clothing. The only thing with buttons and bling it does sometimes mark the opposite page when used as a bookmark
Oh that's fantastic, we were on the same wavelength!! Lol. Yes those shoulder ribbons do get in the way sometimes don't they? You're right you have to be a bit careful with buttons x
I really like these, but I wanted o ask,if your scissors sharp? It seems like you are struggling when you cut, almost like you are having to rip instead of cut. You always manage to make it beautiful!
I do this with every journal I make so the owner knows what the original book was. ✌🏿
So smart..love it🤗
Brilliant idea, might have to use that :)
Excellent idea! 👍
Oh my gosh, what a fantastic idea, I love that x

Thank you x
These are lovely, Tina. Always wanted to try this. Will have to give it a go. 👍❤🌺
Great idea for using book spines. I love reading so the spines will be getting revamped.
Fantastic, have fun x
This is such a great idea. My favorite was the blue one. I liked so many of the ideas you rejected too. You nailed it with pinking edge.
Oh thank you so much, yes that pink really made a difference didn't it? x
Love this idea for a journal but also for a book I am reading!!
Oh that’s fantastic, have fun with them x
SO cute! Love these and it saves the spines for something special for your journals or books! TFS the inspiration, Tina!
